Delay when phone is woken up - HD7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just had my HTC HD7 updated to Mango.
What I've observed is - when the phone is woken up (unlock key is pressed), it displays the time that the phone was locked on for a fraction of a second, goes blank for another fraction of second and then the actual time/date is displayed.
Has anyone else observed this?

This something you see on most handsets. Also applications running can also contribute to this.

Flip to Mute & PIN lock

I've noticed an apparent problem with the Flip-to-mute feature that I suspect rather a large amount of people must have run into..
On my device this feature works fine when the phone is non-PIN locked (ie. you are either using it or have been using it recently before the PIN lock has time to kick in, mine being set to 5 minutes), this can be differentiated by the fact the incoming call is intercepted by the HTC app (name and big picture of incoming caller, if available, along with the big red and green buttons). However if the device is PIN locked, differentiated by the fact it is the standard Windows Mobile "Incoming Call" pop-up which overlays the PIN unlock screen) then the flip-to-mute feature doesn't work, assumingly as it is part of the HTC app.
Would I not be right in thinking a large proportion of people will be using PIN locks, perhaps enforced by corporate policy etc, and thus this be a rather large oversight?
Or - better still! - anyone got a fix?
Thanks in advance.
I have the same issue, any fixes?
yeah this happens to me too (US Diamond) and was wondering if anyone found a fix

[Q] Phone won't ring when screen is locked. 2.1 black Quarx

Hi guys
I have noticed something weird. My phone won't ring when the screen is locked, in fact, it doesn't show the incoming call screen or anything. Eventually, I am told that "the cell phone I am trying to ring is either turned of or outside the cell phone network" by a pre-recorded message. I am running 2.1 black Quarx.
Its very strange, if the phone is unlocked and I ring it then it rings and everything is fine. If I ring it while its locked, then unlock it, then sometimes after 10 seconds it might ring eventually.
Has anybody got any idea about what is going on?
Actually, its a little more complicated as I have found out while been playing around a bit today. If I leave it for say more than 10 minutes, it won't ring. If I leave it alone for 10 minutes, then ring and let the phone ring for a minute my cell won't ring. If I hit the home button which wakes the screen up, the phone will - after a 2 or 3 seconds delay - show the incoming call screen and start ringing! It doesn't seem to matter if its plugged in or not, in fact, I can run "adb catlog" while ringing! Nothing in the logs seem to hiont at what the issue is.
I used to get something similar to what you are experiencing but somehow along the way the problems just stopped. I think its because I've flashed my phone so many times. Just reflash your phone and see if that helps. If it doesn't then flash to a different 2.1 version

It is probably an issue with my cell phone network, rather than my phone! Which is good and bad, because it means I have to wait for those dicks to fix their stuff - I can't fix it myself.

Stuck on lock screen.... Android 2.1/2.2

So, I downloaded and launched it perfectly... everything so far i tried is working fine except the lock screen... Some times when i press the Cancel key the button lights lid up but there is nothing on the screen and sometimes it appear the lock screen but nothing happen....
Do someone have any solution to this...
Thank you.
I have the same problem. I have been reading that possibly going back to an older kernel / roofs fixes this problem but have not seen and confirmed reports.
Can anyone confirm this and what version?
Thanks
Same problem at me. Both builds are running very fine for some tine but after that are running slow.I don't know why. Maybe is somehow related with the lockscreen problem?
I have this problem as well i get lucky if i manage to move passt the lock screen and the OS runs really slow it takes like 20 seconds just to open the app screen and the app screen laggs like no to morrow how come so menny ppls can get it to run just fine but i cant it makes me sad face
+1 one for me... I have got a TOPA100, it's almost impossible to wake up the device, sometimes the lockscreen is visible, but it's impossible to move the unlock slider. Usually I need about 10 times and something around 5 Minutes to wake up the device.
Same problem here, would be great if this can be fixed...

For me it's the same and the battery runs only for one hour, I think a (system?)process is running with 100% CPU time. I am new to android, so I don't know where to look.
Same here on an AT&T Pure. Sure would love to get this fixed however I'm reasonably noob to the Android world (not completely novice to linux in general, and I have successfully flashed my AT&T TyTN II thanks to this site.) Fixing this would be a huge help!
Thanks
More specifically on my device I encounter. The following:
- Turn screen off via end button.
- Turn on screen via call button.
HW button lights come on for a few seconds then cut themselves off.
Screen does not turn on at this point.
- Turn on screen via call button again
- Screen comes on with HW button lights
about half the time screen is unresponsive and will not all me to unlock with swipe of finger
Other times will accept input and unlock to the home screen
When unresponsive repeating entire process above will likely allow me to unlock successfully.
Thanks!

my screen never wakes up
end up using soft reset to windows mobile
(it could be something to do with startup??)

[Q] Phone turns it's display on itself?

Hi,
I have now since 3 Weeks my HTC One and noticed that sometimes the display turns on itself.
Yesterday it happend, that I wrote a mail to a friend, that contained some chars like "QUAJFK,,asdfkjl", so I think that the device turned on and wrote this mail in my pocket!
Is there anybody else with this problem?
Wakelockdetector is showing HTC sense which turns on the display! How can I prevent this?

This happens when the TV remote control app is running, so you don't have to fumble around finding the power button to keep using your TV!

This is the likely answer. If you leave the TV app running you'll notice it stays in your notification tray until you specifically close it. As part of this app the phone detects when it is moved and turns on, mimicking the behavior of a real remote (which you don't have to "unlock" every time you want to change the channel).

I don't have the remote configured and I'm not using the remote...
I think this happens with update of HTC sense!
The lockscreen is still there, but the sensitivity of the touch is to sensitive, that the phone can be "touched" through the pocket of my trousers!
I now have a lock screen with pattern security but I don't like this much!
On my previous phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) I didn't had this issue. The screen never turned on through the trouser the phone couldn't be handled!

Kindly assist: Screen keeps randomly turning on amongst a host of other problems

Hi,
So yesterday I used my HTC M7 for music at the gym.
Ever since then the phone has been behaving very weirdly.
- The display keeps randomly turning on.
- Car mode randomly turns on.
- Pages on Chrome continuously refresh.
- While charging through my laptop it keeps losing connection.
- While typing the keyboard keeps deactivating and I have to keep touching the text area so I can get the keyboard back up.
- Sometimes the phone just lands on the home screen.
Its all very weird, no I haven't rooted the device, I'm using Android 4.4.3 with HTC Sense 6.
I have factory reset the device and also I kept it in a bowl of rice overnight in case of water having seeped in at the gym.
Any opinions and advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Samsung gs2 has an issue very similar to what you're describing and the fix for that was to enter a dial code to get into the phone utility that let you select pda or modem for the USB... I know for a fact that the same code doesn't work for this phone, *#7284#
But if anyone around here is familiar with htc codes, they might be able to get you into that menu. The trick on the gs2 was to make sure both options were set to pda and re-select then if they already were.
Don't know if that'll help or just send you on a wild goose chase, but it's a lead, I suppose.
