To all sense 3.0 and 3.5 rom developers - Droid Incredible Android Development

Sorry not allowed to post url yet so if someone could check out article on android police and post the link for me. Just came across this disturbing article this morning about a security vulnerability with latest sense updates. 2 possible files that can be deleted or frozen possibly to stop the threat. I'm posting here so all you smart devs here can look into this and determine what can safely be removed from roms. I love all that you guys do here and keep up the awesome work!
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk

Actually its htclogger.apk
netlogger.apk
a couple of bin files an etc filer and
libhtclogger.so
and libnetlogger.so
and some ciq libs i dont remeber and some ramdisk edits
but htclogger.apk and htcnetlogger.apk and libhtclogger.so and libnetlogger.so should do the job
Ive done it to all my roms already

So have I..........

Good to hear as I don't think I have read anything on here about it yet. Or maybe I missed it. Thanks guys. Peace of mind...

Glad I got a heads up on this. If there's anything I need to remove other than the two apks, the libs, and the relevant directories in /data/data please let me know, but I think that should prevent any of it from running, yes?

Htc ROM kitchen supports our ATRIX devices (still in beta and unconfirmed if it is 100% working).

"Who is this kitchen for?
Those who are brand new to creating custom ROMs and want an easy place to start learning
Those who just want to modify shipped ROMs or someone else's custom ROMs to their liking
Those who are confused by all those scripts and complex commands required for building and extracting
This is NOT a tool to automatically turn you into a full-fledged ROM developer. ROM development normally involves work from the ground up and involves time, research and patience. I am just giving the tools to help the average person get things done quickly from an existing

So if we took Ken's GB ROM, we could create our own custom one from it?
I tried to use it and flash on orangefr and it didn't work for some reason. I used a battery mod and icons and uot said it was good with no errors. Not sure why

All you have to do there is use updater script from the ROM you use with the kitchen, e.g. if you use KP's 4.5.91 just use update script from it.

Yes we know that. But when using a system.img say the french one. when kitchen unpacks it the update-script id made. Then ask kitchen to convert to updater-script as this is only supported by cwm there is errors and rom won't boot

I def would like to know whats the best rom out there for d3 so far and why is it the best one...???
This is a useless question as everyone has their preferences. There are only a handful of roms available and they are pretty much all good in their own way. Also there is another thread in this forum that poses the same question. Perhaps give that a read instead of starting a new thread
Or just try them all for yourself and find your preference

As a note, there is one good rom called eclipse that isn't on xda for some reason. Its a port from the bionic, and there are numerous themes for it available in the bionic threads. As they stand now they cause you to bootloop but im gonna try my hand at porting some. But check rootzwiki or droidforums for it. I haven't tried it myself but the liberty customizer addons are supposed to work on eclipse. Its similar to liberty but physical keyboard and autobrightness work properly in it.

Liberty has more built in options, but autobrightness and keyboard autocorrect didn't work. All roms are blur based, except cm7 and cm9/ics roms. However liberty and eclipse have had much of the blur removed and replaced with aosp system apps. I use jrummy romtoolbox to customize all my roms to look how I want them to.

Im not sure about the bionic bootstrapper but you can ditch quickoffice if you don't use it. I have at least 100 MB free ram at all times, normally more like 150 so I don't bother removing much. Its already got all the carrier bloat removed. Just try stuff. Rename them to have a .bak extension. If it screws up, boot into CWR and use adb to rename it back to normal or just restore a backup. If you're using safestrap and in safe mode not much you can do will bork your device beyond recovery. Its only while messing around in nonsafe mode

[DEV] Porting (any) HTC One ROMs to Sprint | v4 - [MAY 18]

Sharing with the HTC One community...
required files to make HTC One roms work on Sprint.
Why is this important?
1: Sprint devs can port features from “the other One” as new updates are released for them (JB 4.2.2 anyone?). Better camera, audio, battery, performance were included in the latest update (1.29.401.13) for the One UK.
2: One devs can add Sprint as a supported device when they release their awesome roms. So go tell your favorite One developer about this thread...

How does it work?
DEVs will know what to do by looking at the file list provided and downloading the actual required files taken from the Stock Sprint ROM. It’s mostly replacing, deleting, and changing the scripts. If you’re not a rom developer, you shouldn’t try porting. I’m not responsible for what you do to your device.

How did you do it?
Mostly previous knowledge of what files do and trial/error. The spreadsheet helped keeping track of changes and what worked and what didn’t. Hundreds of changes, uploads and installs.

Does it really work?
Yes, but since each rom is different (not really) it will depend on the port and base used. I ported 2 roms and they both work perfectly. Right now I’m running my own version of TrickDroid. Not a single FC and everything works (although I don’t have LTE to test) and logcat looks good. It’s important to note the base version. These files are from stock Sprint 1.29.651.7 and they work with GSM One 1.29.401.13. Newer releases may not work. I’ll try to update the files as they do.

Credits
I only modified a few config/script files... didn't touch any core files (libs, jars, etc..). So props goes to viperboy that provided the Sprint One Stock and to Tyzing that helped me with the idea, updating the list and testing.

List of files required (spreadsheet): http://goo.gl/qElY1

v3: Added EPST, DM(diag mode), and camera libs. (21.4mb): http://goo.gl/Wfz8k

v1: One Sprint 1.29.651.7 required files (17mb): http://goo.gl/yv5QT

I really hope this helps some of the dev's be able to bring more goodies to Sprint's ONE.

You don't actually "have" to delete any files... I just tested with the Stock One_1.29.401.13 and it works without deleting. I also thought about a script to automatically make any rom work on sprint but it got complicated and I would've have to support lots of people doing bad things to their phones. Better let the devs install the sprint files on their roms and test it out first.
This is great information to have! Thanks for the work
Hopefully this will make it so we can have some of the .13 camera fixes over on Sprint.

[MOD] 4x4 widgets from One X Sense 5 rom

Cross posting this from the International thread:
Guess the title says it all really.
As some of you are aware, HTC removed many of the full page widgets in Sense 5. However, they seem to have added most of those back in the Sense 5 rom just released for the One X. Amazingly, despite the difference in screen resolution, they all work on the One with little to no modding required.
I thought I'd package them up into a flashable zip, for those who want them.
You can get the download link and bug list on my International forum thread....sorry for the pinballing, but easier for me to keep an eye on one thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411885
***Since the Sprint One uses a different partition for /system, I'm not 100% sure if the zip will flash properly for you guys. If anyone tries, please let me know. Nandroid first, just in case***
Good news...
The zip flashes and installs the widgets correctly.
Bad news...
None of them work The only one that doesn't ***** when added to the tab is the photo gallery, however, it doesn't function correctly.
Tested on ViperOne.
-CMY

try adding the com.htc.socialnetwork.res.apk(from where these widgets were pulled from) and flashing that with the widgets and is if that helps

I noticed someone commented in the development thread for the P.A.C.MAN rom started by MallardDuck recently that the link was dead. I would like to point out that the link was dead, but that the build for M7SPR could be found at "pacman()basketbuild()com/index()php?dir=main/m7spr/" I am unable to post hyperlinks so please copy the url in quotes directly into the browser, replacing the double parentheses with a period. Just wanted to make sure people were able to get to the rom. I have nothing to do with the development of this rom and hope that I didn't step on anyone's toes by posting this. My apologies in advance.
