Droid 3 / XT860 Holster? - Motorola Droid 3

Since ditching BlackBerry last year, I couldn't let go of my BlackBerry swivel holster. All Android phones I've had since then have fit nicely in it... but now that I'm on the XT860 (droid3), its too tall to fit!
Has anyone seen one like this for the Droid3? The clip is probably the most important part for me...
What are you holster people using with your Droid3?

Im using the one shell/holster combo verizon sells for the d3. No issues no complaints.

OK thanks. Do you mean this one? (I hope the image link works...)
Does the phone slide in and out of it quickly and easily?

Yea that one. And I personally have no issues sliding it out. I dont like the feel of the keyboard slide without it.

I had one, but quite using it. Don't know if its because I was using it with the extended battery, but sliding the keyboard out, you could feel something dragging, and I had a couple of hard lockups due to overheating when playing games like dungeon defenders for very long. I decided to go for a Clip type holster.

Link Please

I can say its not as good of quality as the clip style I had for my original droid, but does what it needs to. I modified mine a bit and cut the release catch on the front down a little so it doesn't stick out as much and it works great. Easy to get the phone in and out of.

Like yourself, I have a Bell branded XT860 running on the rogers network! As well, I'm so used to Blackberry holsters that I needed one. Anyways, I found at the Best Buy mobile store they had a Samsung Galaxy S holster which seemed to fit the XT860 nicely!

I never used a case for my moment (pos didn't deserve one) and I was kinda planning on not getting one for the shift just bc I've learned to be super careful with my phone, but I'm definitely getting one!

Where did u get the specs from?
I had both the impact, and commuter cases for my evo and they were awesome I'll most definitely be getting this case for my shift. They make the good ****.
powered by the tears of a million orphaned alpacas...
hm..from looking at the pictures on that link, the case appears to cover the 'shift' and 'FN' lights on the keyboard when it's opened. I wonder if they will fix that by release time..
It would be pretty hard to make a good phone case that didn't cover up those lights at least some, because they are pretty close to the screen part of the phone.
I put my email in to be notified when they are available, but I keep checking back anyways to see if they are out yet haha.

I wish Otterbox was releasing a Defender Series case for the HTC EVO Shift 4G as they did for the HTC EVO 4G. I won't be suprised if one comes out for it by the end of the summer.
They do not make defender series for any slide phones, it would be impossible without rendering the slider useless. I don't think we will see anything other than the commuter case.

Seems like a solid deal. I had a friend who shut hit iPhone in the channel of the trunk of his SUV. It survived because it had an otterbox.
I keep going over to the http://www.otterbox.com site and pray to Allah that they release their Commuter Series one soon. At the rate they're going and by the time it launches, I'll probably will be carrying our version of the Nexus S by Google.
It went live today
Will be getting mine Friday.

new case?

Has anyone used this case and holster combo?
edit: i cant post links.., im new i guess.search ebay for "new shell belt clip case for sprint samsung nexus s 4g"
i have an active x case/holster combo but i hate the case. it's to slipery, buttons are to easy to press on the sides etc. its also tough to load and unload the phone one handed. im looking at this case combo in the above link but i'd really like to hear from anyone who's used it and what you think??also the 3g and 4 g frames are nearly identical, correct?
That actually looks pretty legit, to be honest
I have a watch strap buddy that is making a prototype for me that will be sort of like this one.

I got mine from the Sprint website when I ordered my phone. Its good, doesn't add too much bulk and I've loaded/unloaded multiple times with ease using one hand. It doesn't have a soft touch rubbery back but I've never had a problem holding but as for drop protection Its not very good. I've dropped it 2 or three times from about 3 feet up and it came off each time, scratching up my phone in the process. And it cut outs for the buttons so that's not a problem

that looks like a purse
Thanks for the help guys!! i actually came up with a very simple solution to fix my active x case.my main issue is that the buttons are way to easy to press in on the sides, so gripping it tightly constantly turns it on/off and messes with the volume. or anytime i loaded/unloaded it from holster
on the inside of the silicone layer where buttons are, are fairly thick strips which sit tightly against the phone buttons causing the problem.i used a razor to slice these tabs off and the difference is drastic. now i love the active x case.., sure it's not as grippy as the case mate, but its a damn tough case with a rock solid holster!

[Q] Hashcodes' Case for Droid 3?

Hey guys, when i looked at Hash Code's video on ics for the droid 3 on youtube, in the video he was using an amazing case that I would buy in a heart beat, i can't post a video link because im new to xda but the video is called "ics on the droid 3" , can someone tell me the name of the case, or give me a link on where i can find it, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
I bet its the Otterbox

This is it I think.
I use the Otterbox case, definitely not the case in his video.
Looks like he is using the Motorola case that sells in the Verizon store.

Qmatix
I'm pretty positive it's the same case I have, It's the Qmatix snap on and sleeve combo with pop out kickstand. Unfortunately non of the dock stations (car/home) work with any case. I ran into that with my DX as well. Not to mention I've had 3 cases for my D3 since I purchased it and none of them are particularly "friendly" to remove. This is however the best case combo I've had for any phone. It makes the phone feal alot more sturdy, especially when sliding out the keyboard and such

Um, there is a removable insert in the OEM Motorola cardock/deskdock specifically to allow cases to be used with them... I use a Rocketfish case in the OEM DX cardock with no problem after just grinding off the little nub and I know for a fact the Bionic docks work with cases and I know the Qmadix case works with the OEM dock as well. If you don't take my word for it, you can look at the 50 something reviews on Amazon too...
Wow...

[Q] Specific Holiday VS Vivid

I just noticed a weird difference in the holiday/vivid. Specs ideally are the same..
however the back covers aren't..
I just bought a case. that shows it.

VIVID
No holes?
My new silicone case has the little cutout.. not that it bothers me much. Was this an attempt to use the back cover as an antenna. The HTC aria had it.

Weird! What am I seeing in the hole at the bottom? Looks like 3x contacts of some kind...? My raider definitely doesn't have the cutout there, nor are .there any contacts in that area under my back cover. Weirdness.

It seems like most if not all. Case designers accomondated for it. and built around it.

I got a cheap case last fall from Amazon that was for the Raider. It has an opening in the lower right just like the pictures show. So, at some point, the Holiday or Raider had something there that HTC wanted exposed.
OP, the earlier pics you show were from the earlier prototypes of the Holiday line. At some point, they must have decided that they don't need those contacts, and that's why no region's Holiday has it.
I would hazard a guess, though, that when the case makers all got their "blueprint" for the phone, they got it before HTC had decided to remove it. I'd guess they got it while the phone was still in its prototype stage so that they have enough time to design and release it with the phone when it came out.
It could possibly have been contacts for a dock of some kind that didn't work out and HTC decided to do away with them.
Sent from my HTC Vivid using XDA app
those contacts are for a dock use.
and Holiday is just the model name of the phone no one actually has a "Holiday"
they'd have a Velocity, Raider, or Vivid.
Yeah, those three tabs would be used for a dock, the vivid/raider/velocity do use the back plate as an aerial, that's what the metal tab pushing against the back cover inside does. the HTC HD2(leo) had a similar prototype design that was dropped at the last minute
Question
How well does the external speaker work with those cases on?
I figured all you people that replied would know.

It's hard to see in the photos above, but the speaker is a thin opening at the top above the camera, running all the way across the Vivid. I would be surpised if any case designed for the Vivid/Raider/Velocity covered the speaker.

Very Nice Case For Very Low Price

Okay guys, I got this case about a month ago now and have dropped my phone about 4 or 5 times from my waste to the sidewalk and absolutely nothing has happened to my phone.
I highly reccomend this case.

It also has a cool little kickstand on it for when you are watching videos, surfing the web with various mousepads, keyboards, etc.
And don't forget gaming with a bluetooth gamepad.
It also comes with a cool little beltclip, very handy id you dont want to shove this beast of a phone into your pocket,
Very nice case, only for about $8.00 USD.
Here is a link if you would like to purchase one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Rugge...435987?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2ec37feb13
In my opinion, it was MORE than worth the $8 I payed.
Hope you guys enjoy
I know this is offtopic but that beltclip is exactly what Otterbox Commuter case needs, take notice Otterbox
Yea that's the only reason I didn't get an Otterbox.
I'm sorry I couldn't post photos of the beltclip but nonetheless, very useful.

ive got one of those cases. its definitely one of the best cases ive ever bought from ebay. its quite durable and offers a lot of drop protection.
the only thing i didnt like was the stand mechanism. when its fully locked open, it feels like its going to snap when i try to close it. aside from that, definitely worth the money.
That's a brick... excessively thick for my taste...
You bought a Galaxy Note II...
I dont see how size of the case would come into play at all, you have the biggest phone on the market.

The phone might be big but it's pretty thin width-wise which makes it easier to use etc
Does the silicone pick up lint?
Would you say this case is as thick as the commuter or is it thinner?
Thanks
The silicone does not pickup lint.
I keep the kickstand on it at all times so its like a hard case with a jelly core.
Very good resistance if you drop your device.
It is quite thin and only bulks your device about a quarter to a half inch more.
