how to install apps dumped from SENSE UI based ROM???

hey guys, i am using FROYO FRF91 now
and i really want to use some apps based on sense ui rom, like weather widget, msg widget, flickr, etc.
so i downloaded a sense ui rom and dumped the apps i like
use ROOT EXPLORE copied the .apk and .odex files to /systme/app folder
but after reboot my phone, it didn't work
did i doing something wrong?
or there is another way to make it work?

Yes.. you did something very wrong. You didn't search.

Just wait for the Sense UI 2.2 ROM if you want both Froyo and Sense.
Desire ROM 2.2 has been leaked and is fully working I assume, as the devs working on it say it might be out by tonight. Hopefully the Nexus will get a full port by tomorrow... No promises though

Lol tomorrow would such a nice time, but I assume its a tad bit too early. It would be really awesome though..

I can see it in the market, install it, but when I start it it just goes black... no loading screen, no forcecloses.
I wanna run it. Idc if it runs at 1Fps, I at least want to know how to fix this. I'm running CM7 rc4 (cyanogenmod 7 gingerbread 2.3.3) do I need a better kernel that updates my opengl or w/e? I have everything default... no custom kernels, just the good clean old rom.

I'm not sure of the specific software you mentioned, but CM7 on the Hero still has issues with OpenGL support. There's a hack you could try to force software rendering, but I can't guarantee it will help.
To do so, delete the file libGLES_qcom.so. It's located in the system/lib/egl folder. If that doesn't work, you can always re-install the ROM image to replace it.

That worked for me and I'm using CM7.

Roms: Continuous comparison of milestone roms and updates

Dear all,
In an attempt to organise the discussion, I have noticed that there are several threads aiming at discussing the best ROMS for the Milestone.
Some of us are using Shadowmod, Froyomod, CM7, CM6, Motofrenzy, GOT while some use Stock.
REQUEST 1: Each user, after updating to a new ROM/Nightly should state their ROM here, its version, and describe her/his own experience with the ROM.
REQUEST 2: If you have used more than one ROM, can you post comparisons of your experience with your ROM?
This should help in better understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each ROM and each nightly and even help developers of each ROM work together and exchange tips.

My first post:
I am running Cm6 pre final. I removed facebook and Twitter and some other apps from system, installed them from market and moved them to SD. Not many mods, except heap size is 32, and no app2ext.
Very stable, very occasional reboots. Battery life is as expected, within standard cm6 range. Battery lasts 12 hours average, assuming you USE the phone and keep the display open significantly. Slightly laggy from time to time, but otherwise there is nothing to report except problems with languages that have a right-to-left orientation.
I love the mods. Just downloaded froyomod and considering a test drive for a day.

I just installed it, and am using it with basic settings. I only changed libwebcore.so with one that supports basic arabic reading in mail and web.
My general impression is that it is much faster and snappier, less laggy and generally lighter than CM6 Pre Final. Will keep testing it of course, but it generally seems to be a better ROM actually.

Best froyo atm is FroyoMOD 2.6.1 once the gps issue is sorted.
Best GB rom is Cronos 1.2.
But i am a stock rom person. I am at present using xt702 with arabic kernel,themed and a few mods by myself.

I have heard people talking about Cronos, but it doesn't seem to be as well-known as CM7. Is it faster or more stable?
I have used both FroyoMod 2.6.0 and CM7 RC4.1(current).
I find that CM7 is VERY polished. I had one reboot and it's been close to two weeks I've had CM7 on my phone.
With FroyoMod, I found that it was not as polished as CM7 and had some bugs, but it definitely seemed better optimized for the Milestone seeing as it's running Froyo.

i am on stock eclair update 1 with arabic rom. when i copy libwebcore.so from my current eclair to any stock froyo or any cm, my web cannot read arabic. only contacts and messaging read arabic.
can you guide how to activate arabic in web.

Hey Saeen! here is not the place for this, but here you go Get libwebcore.so from the official 2.2 Arabic release or that file which has been online somewhere. Navigate to system/lib using root explorer, activate the permissions, paste it there to replace the current one (make a copy of the one there, just in case)., and reboot. You can read it Arabic, but it does not fix Right-to-left issues.

Well, i'am new here and i have an Motorola Milestone. I'am from Brazil so my english is kinda bad, but whatever. I'am running stock 2.2.1 from brasil, and my Milestone runs very smoothy! No FC or reboots for 1 week! Iam running it at 1ghz @62vsel. The brasilian official froyo mix motoblur elements with the original android, so the lockscreen for exemple is the same as the motoblur one, and the keyboard is the same as motoblur, the white keyboard. I'am making a video, when i upload i post it here

Miui 1.2.25
So I have found that MIUI 1.2.25 ROM from lalit79 to work the best for me.
The one thing that brings me back to it every time is its battery/power management plus it's fairly stable performance. Usability is the most important thing and I find its interface easy and speedy. Plus it comes with some great apps.
I have tried using the Gingerbread versions of it and they seem to be improving with each update however it is still lacking in the performance and stability of 1.2.25.
Other mods I have used are ShadowMod, Doshaka's CM6, Cronos and ofcourse the stock motorola.
All of which worked fine. However one problem i found across these roms was memory management. If I was using an intense application like angry birds and then revert back to the Home Screen I would find that all my icons would take a bit of time to load up. Only ROM where this has not happened is MIUI.
Hope my experiences help!
edit: I should also add that I use the old boot.img file in 1.2.25 as I experience random reboots if I do not. This applies to all mods mentioned above.

hey jumbz55, I had the same memory management issue as well with non stock ROM. So far I'm happy after reverting back to Eclair from Froyo, but this MIUI ROM that you mentioned interests me..
What MIUI ROM would you recommend? I'm sure there are many flavours out there. I need one with good memory management and of course care about the battery.

After playing 3d games like NFS, apps in apps drawer still need not be loaded again.
No laggy feeling (no kidding~!!!), launcher seldom gets killed but it can be loaded in no time.

If u use app2sd, don't try this rom....
coz the apps reload frequently,
launcher always get killed after surfing internet, not to mention playing any games.

[ROM] CRQ 1.3 for HTC Legend (Based on WWE 3.15.405.6) [25.02.2012]

I present you my first publicly released (and probably last) ROM for the Legend.
This isn't something revolutionary. It's just a ROM I've cooked for myself and i you willing to try it, go ahead. It contains a hell lot of stuff made by others which are respectably credited (I hope ).

Issues
Even if you use A2SD, internal memory may shrink very fast after installation. That's because Darktremor Script is enabled by default and this is due to dalvik-cache not being moved to SD on first boot. Use A2SDGUI to move and rebuild it. This can take up to 5 minutes.

you know what would be cool a froyo sense rom were you have gpu ui rendering and pinch to zoom in photo gallery and in browser like 2.1 used to have instead of using HTC`s stock crappy ported rom that made a pretty good phone running on eclair performe horrable in froyo (performance increase my ass, the phone may be better under the hood but for a simple picture viewing.........
and having andother app on it to do that, kinfa makes the sense rom worthless

Wow, I know which ROM I'm heading to if I ever need to go back to Sense. Well done!

compare android 2.1 with sense for legend (browser, gallery app, fps in games) and any 2.2 with oveclock you will see a huge difference as the 2.1 is much smoother because every 2.2 sense is stock based and it runs horrable (nobody tweaked it in the general ui)
or maybe my legend just hates 2.2 roms

I tried this ROM, and the Adobe Reader gets FC everytime I try to open it

If you're not S-OFF or unlocked it will. Just like any app trying to write something to /system.

So far so great! I wanted something wellworked that WASN'T a Gingerbread ROM - Why? Because they're worse for the Legend since there aren't any bloody drivers, making wifi unstable and breaking tether into forced ad-hoc mode, which doesn't work with my Transformer ICS.
I think I'm S-On though, which is poop.

I thinks its just you. When i was still using stock froyo, it worked smoothly for me without overclock... just don't overclutter your phone with lots of widgets

What he said was true, Froyo Sense base roms on HTC Legend are worse than Eclair Sense/Espresso ones. I had a lot of chances to compare these in the past (while I'm still using HTC Legend) since I cooked them alot. The FPS of 2.1 is always higher than 2.2's (using Neocore to benchmark), and the UI is faster for sure.
Fortunately, the ported 2.3 Sense Rom from HTC Wildfire S/Salsa is as smooth as 2.1 Sense (as I remember), so definitely HTC did a better job and Froyo Sense was totally a failure.

It is possible use stock rom APK in cyanogen rom?

I'm using a rom based on Cyanogen mod 7, but when I used the ROM based on the rom stock I liked a lot the interface of the e-mail, contacts, phone. I saw that in the zip of the stock rom has much apks.
I wanted to know if you have problem in install these apks with Cyanogen rom?

Yes if you install those ApK's in CM7, you will get force closes on each app...
It is because LG apps depend on LG framework and not CM framework and thus they need to be ported and not to be copied and pasted
