Froze the motorola.blur.home (motoblur home launcher) app after rooting my D3 a long time ago. Now im trying to defrost it but good old titanium backup (pro) says the app has been uninstalled because the app is at the bottom of the list doth its name crossed out. Anyways at this point I can only use the restore function but titanium backup just hangs and I have to fc it, probably becuz the app is in the system/app folder, I don't know.
I checked the folder with root explorer and the app is still in the folder, just presumably still frozen.
How can I get back the MOTOBLUR home (yes it sucks I know, I wont be using it)
Divide by zero, I dare you...

Ive been adding a deleteing alot of apps since I got my phone. The usual "new toy" deal.
What the best way to actualy delete them. Ive been going through setting>apps>manage>unistall
When I got to the monitor it says my memory is only 23% free. Is this normal, or am I looking at the wrong thing? Is there anyway to install apps on the added microsd card?
Sorry if such a newb question.
Download titanium backup from the market, or uninstaller. Uninstaller gets rid of all apps you've installed and titanium backup can get rid of the other miscellaneous odds and ends.

hold down the app icon of the app you want to remove and move it down to the little trashcan that pops up but don't let it go wait until it says uninstall and then let it go. this will take you directly to the uninstall screen for the app. no need to install any other apps. hope this helps.
So, as far as your memory percentage goes, don't give it too much worry. I don't recommend any task "killer" apps to solve that though, they aren't good for you phone. A task "manager" app would be okay to use. You could also try unchecking the box to sign into Gtalk automatically (Find that in the Gtalk settings) or just not using so many apps at once.
The two posts above forgot to mention a few things. Titanium Backup requires root access. There's an app in the Market called OCLF (One Click Lag Fix) that can help you easily obtain this. If you use Titanium Backup, you can also remove some AT&T bloatware that comes with your phone, only if you want, of course.
ADW.Launcher will allow you to drag an app icon over the trash can that pops up after you long press on one. Just hold it over for a few seconds and it will ask if you want to uninstall it.
So, there are plenty of easy, free ways to help you out!
Ok so after months of trying to figure out how to get facebook and twitter for lg off of this phone, I figured it out. My revo is rooted and I have cwm with the decrapped rom from thecubed. The actual apk file is called sns.apk (short for social networking service). I backed it up, then froze the app using titanium backup. Voila! No more facebook or twitter for lg. I don't know if anyone else has figured this out, but I thought I would share
SWEETTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most Excellent find. This should go in the list of useful apps to freeze. Great!!
Any non-rooted solutions??

I really doubt it, but is there a way to remove or freeze apps if your phone isn't rooted? Also, can't you just uninstall the apps instead freezing them? Or does that cause a problem somehow?
Thanks! I was wondering what SNS was...frozen now!

You can uninstall them.. but freezing to me is better.. if we do get the gingerbread update and you are still pretty stock with some frozen apps, you can un freeze and then do the update and you should be fine.. much easier than uninstalling the app and then having to reinstall them.
I noticed after reflashing decrapped 1.1 the facebook for lg icon came back and it also showed up as an option for sharing a pic. I looked in titanium backup and it said it was still frozen, when I hit unfreeze it said apk file not found, so I hit uninstall. That was successful, then I flashed mtmichaelsons revolt rom and since he hasnt gotten bluetooth working on it I reflashed again back to decrap 1.1. The icons came back and I went to tibu again. I hit restore and it said it was successful, but then the icons disappeared. I don't really care if this program is deleted permanently from the phone, but I am wondering why it keeps popping up like that and why it's acting like that in tibu. Not a major issue for me, just odd
Anyone having Titanium Backup freeze on random apps during a batch restore? It's driving me nuts... Any help would be appreciated. I'm rooted and deodexed.
I had this issue, I suspect I should have waited longer during the batch but....I was impatient, restarted. The one it got stuck on I had to manually do that one and then the batch worked.
I've had this issue as well. It's been with specific games.
Zenonia 2, for instance. Every now and then, when restoring this game, it will freeze and I will have to kill Titanium and restart the batch. I know it's freezing/hanging because when I kill it and start the batch again, Zenonia 2 takes nowhere near as long to restore as I had waited for it to finish the first time.
I've been having the disappearing apps issue with a select few games (Zenonia 2 being one of them). I will reboot for something, and suddenly certain games will be gone from my app drawer. Reboot again and they will reappear (most of the time, sometimes not all of them). I wonder if it's related....
I also have this, mostly game related. However, it hung on the XDA one today.

Good call.....this worked for me.
Sorry to bump a thread, but the suggestion did not work for me. Random apps still hang even after changing the application processing mode.
Are there any other suggestions I can try?
You can watch for what app hangs and do another backup and unchecked that app. Then go back and backup just that app.

Usually when some of my apps "hang" I just assume it because its got a lot of data to back up.
I have a lot of apps in most cases, so when i run a backup, i usually walk away and do something else anyway. So I don't even notice.
I thought the same thing, but I just got a hang on an app that was 523kb (RSA SecureID in this case). A 523kb app shouldn't take 15 minutes to restore data (before I killed the process). I even get hangs manually restoring items one at a time.
It seems like there's something Titanium Backup doesn't like about our phones.

I don't even use TTB anymore...Ever since I got AppExtractor.
AppExtractor allows you to extract apps straight from a CWM Backup (Nandroid). It even lets you restore SMS/MMS, Contacts, and Settings from a CWM Backup.
So instead of making a CWM backup AND backing up with TTB, you just make one CWM backup and you're set.
"I use Titanium Backup to freeze my bloat/system apps "
Yep, Appextractor does that too!
If you're getting Force Closes after restoring apps, press the Fix Permissions button within AppExtractor and there's a good chance of that fixing the problem.
There's just one catch.
The backup you pull from HAS to be done through ROM Manager.
If you use ROM manager anyway, you have nothing to worry about.
If you make the backup through ROM Manager but it still doesn't show up, you need to update CWR. Scroll to the top of ROM Manager, its the first option, just press it.
The best solution I found was to install from the market and then restore the data

That won't cut it for those people that have hundreds of downloaded apps
Hi everybody. I have flashed some apps on my note, but the icons still remain in the launcher (I Will post a screenshot too. The thing I would like to know from you is: is there any possibility to remove those icons from the launcher, while they are freezed?
P.S. I use SystemAppFreezer to freeze apps.
Press "menu", "edit" and then delete them. It should work.

I tried, but doing that the apps were uninstalled. I remember that on the alternative launchers the icons of freezed apps disappeared till the apps were defreezed. Nothing can be done like that?
Is SystemAppFreezer able to backup apps? If not install Titanium or AntTek App Manager, hit "Backup App", then freeze (or delete). If you freeze you'll end up on the same spot as now, but you can safetly delete the grey icons since the apps are backed up.

thanks for your advice, but i've not a lot of practice in backups. i think that titanium may be better than the other one (in base of the votes on the market) but i'm afraid it would give me other problems. maybe i'll try anttek one
I use Titanium Backup and there isn't any problem coming with it.
I always freeze all my apps with this app because it's very easy and I always backup my Data with that app.
It's very simple and takes about 10 minutes
so like always I get my phone from verizon and there are just LOADS of apps that I don't want and will never use. the first thing I usually do is download my browser of choice (xscope) and then I will go into an application and click a link or an ad. you are prompted with a dialogue of which of the browsers you want to use to open I chose xscope and tick the box that says use this as default. I am then safe to un install the stock browser and not run into any problems. I also took out the ones I knew wouldn't interfere with anything like netflix, blockbuster, pre loaded game demos.
my question is , is it safe to remove these moto blur applications, I never use facebook on my phone, I don't twitter...they're wasting space and I'd rather just get rid of them, but my last phone was the moto droid 1 and it didn't have any of this blur bull****.
so are there any complications if I remove my facebook or twitter apps then I click someones facebook link and my phone explodes because it cant find the moto blur app? Also can I get rid of the backup stuff...and Im not sure why...but Gallery has been replaced with 'my pictures' and it has that ****ing red thing on the top which indicates it will upload these to my verizon account....uhhh no thank you....do I have to keep this or can I just install an old gallery and make that default?
I wouldn't remove them, just freeze them. Titanium backup pro is a great tool and really worth the money. There's a lot of apps that can be frozen and not cause issues, check the Android development for the Droid 4, there's a thread about which apps you can freeze. Removing them can cause instability with the phone, and no sbf files have been released

Here's the list of apps I froze on my Droid 4. My battery life is amazing now. I was at over 50% after 20 hours on battery yesterday.

Can't I just unroot it? I know none of the retards at the store will be able to tell the difference...but I figured I would use the Droid 4 Utilities seen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492843 and just unroot it and give it back? you think it will work?
