I tried to unlock my bootloader... i rooted and run at 2.1 firmware . Then i run s1tool and it shows 'R' (no idea y) then i run msm7227_setool2.cmd and done. Then i tried to reboots my phone and realize the phone is dead. no led indicator or respond... Any Pros plz help me on this!!!! thx alot!!
it showed 'R' means your phone's bootloader isn't unlocked, it must be 'r'.
When you boot up your phone, doew it show the Sony Ericsson logo? Can you boot to Recovery?
i cant even on my phone... like a dead phone! any solution? T.T
I'm sorry, I think you have to send your phone to shop or SE center for fixing.
Battery
Are you sure it's not a battery issue?
this x8 i newly bought 1... while it low battery when i doing these
Try using a new battery.
You shouldn't flash your phone during low battery.
This must be quietly dangerous!!
Same happened to me, any solution?
Do you really think is the battery(i had around 30 when i started the process and i did the process wih the flashtools+the update.)

yes, all of 'em. died like a lifeless brick. Flashtool nor PCsuit detect it. Tried repairing in PCsuit, and because it doesnt turns on on recovery(or at least that is what it seems[no led or vibration respone], it doesnt gets recognized in the "turn of your phone, press back button and connect it to the computer". Not even device manager in the computer detects it as anything).
I am going to USACELL later today and prey they dont realize that i tried to unlock the bootloader, which i see dificult because it doesent even turns on.
(Same thing happened to my last blackberry and after 20 days i got this in change, but no hacking was made in that blackberry)
Battery should be at least 50%

Date code?
Take out the battery, look at the sticker below ... there's a date code in the likes of 11W??
If it's past 11W29, then 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999991% that it's a hard brick now.
i sent the x8 off to the SE approved repair company here in new zealand... cost me like $50 for them to tell me its UN-repairable...

The thing you refer to has NOTHING to do with the boot loader (as in "boot loader binary") itself but the digital SIMLOCK certificate. The only thing you got right is that s1tool saying "UNKNOWN SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" means the phone's boot loader can't be unlocked (and shouldn't even be tried).

That's exactly what happens when you hard brick the phone at the boot loader unlock (i.e. MFD 11W29 or later) - No LED (indicating it would charge/get power), No LCD output, No vibrate, No reaction to the power button, Nothing... nada... nix... dead.
Now, as I outlined already in several posts there actually is a way to resurrect "shot" W/X8's - but that's most likely beyond the skills, and budget, of most people around here...
To reiterate again:
- You need a Qualcomm Resurrection cable fitting the X8.
- You need S1Tool (for free download at setool.net)
- You need "Credit" for S1Tool to perform the repair
- You need to partially open up your X8 to gain access to the printed component board.
With this you can resurrect the device through UART flash recovery.
That's a way the_laser outlined in a subsequent post on the forums at setool.net (way past the SETool post where he notified about the MSM7227 hard brick problem).
in re-wrote yesterday I also like that

it's really strange, for some reason, if i try to turn on my xperia, the green led turn on, and turn off really fast, and then the screen turn on, and then turn off... if i try to do it again, nothing happend. but if i take out the battery, and put it again i cant restart the same process... knowing that, i trie to take out the battery, put it on, and flash from there... but the first time it failed:
18/027/2013 00:27:06 - ERROR -
18/027/2013 00:27:06 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
but in that moment, the green led still's on, i hope that if (i think that the green leds say's that the xperia is somekind of "directly" connected to the pc ) i trie to flash again, and it works !!!
i'm really happy...
something more...
somebody could think that i spend 1 hour trying to fix this, well.. i really spend all the day ): now i will try to put ginger again !

Xperia x8 totaly dead
Hi all,
I need help in regard with Xperia x8. I tried to flash it using the latest Flashtool 0.9.13.0, in the flashtool window I had the only option x10 V1 BLRelock. I went ahead following the steps, everything seemed ok, asked to disconnect the cable and the phone not responding al all.
Lately I realised that I did not load the correct firmware/option....
I followed this tutorial but is not working for me. The phone is totally dead.
Any other option left, before throwing it?
Any help is welcome.

Hi, Emy12. Have you checked out the unbricking part here? If you want to, you can download the Stock ROM here (courtesy of BlackRabbit1703 through 8cpaiw) and flash it to unbrick your X8.

Thank you for replay.
The problem is I can not power it at all, no life of it whatsoever, is totally dead, is not charging neither.
I went the a shop that deals with mobile phone stuff and they can not do anything, said that can not connect to the pc, it might be the power connector faulty, but no, is not faulty for sure. I do not think the flash tool damaged the connector socket.
It worked perfectly prior the problem.
I only did what I already stated in my previous post. I do not think there is a way to recover it.
I have to decide what I am going to do with it. I found for €20 a X8 in good working order , just the case is bad. The one I have is spotless except it stopped working. I am thinking to get it and change the board....
I will see now.

Well, Sony? Will charge me a lot to fix it. I do not see how they will fix it, maybe to change the board or have other ways to do it.
I will give them a call to see how much will charge me.
I think it will be more than €20 the price for used one and swap the board.
Hi
what i did.
I unlocked the Bootloader via Flashtool
Rooted the device
Installed TW Recovery.
Installed iHackers 4.
All was fine until i saw the i wasnt connected to my Network Provider .
AHH i forgot to flash "Xperia Z1 - C6903 - Kernel + Baseband [14.3.A.0.757].ftf"
So i went into flashtool and flashed it, excluding everything execpt Kernel and Baseband.
The flashtool finshed and the device shut down. And thats it. Since then nothing. Not even
the led or something is showing any lifesignal. I tryed every button combi. The red reset button.
Tryed to enter flashmode.. NOTHING!!! What the ?! ANy ideas what i can do?
Last time i checked the accu was @ 93 %. I have it now on the charger dock hoping it is just a battery issue. No combination (pwr+vol+ or pwr+vol- etc.) working so far.

Yes it is a problem.
Even in this Tutorial is all well explained that you have to use the OFFICIAL Sony way to unlock Bootloader,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2440597
..you did not followed the instructions and you unlocked with Flashtool which probably did not do his job right.
Maybe I am wrong but this is how supposed to be to avoid issues.
Then you phone is bricked and you have to follow other instruction to check if still can be resurrected, there is many Threads on XDA about this.

Also I DON'T THINK THIS IS A BOOTLOADER ISSUE!!! All worked fine.. I booted into ihackers 4 multiple times without any problems.. Also the Phone would show ANY signes of life, eg. Ok, If you are so sure then Ok, but still weird, as I follow different instruction and never had a problem then people do on they way and later have problems. It can be a coincidence and maybe is not your case, but sometime thinking easy can compromise the whole process.
I flashed different patches on mine Kernel I kill my phone few times and mine was completely dead, no led nothing, but it boot into Flashmode or Fastboot, you have somehow go in that mode and flash again, this is the only soft solution.
If you will not be able to do so then you have to go with the Test Pins, open your back cover and try to resurrect it, the hard way.

I don't understand what went wrong. After flashing the Kernel and Baseband the flashtool said everything went fine eand restarted the device. It turned off and nothing since then. I cant even get into flashboot or flashmode. It feels likt the accu is broken because there is nothing happening whatever i do. I think there is no power. I will not open the device because i still have 2 years of waranty (i hope they repair it as waranty case, if i am lucky) Else I will pay for the repair. We'll see. If this is an accu failure it should be a waranty case.
I had it for about 8 hours on the charger without any signs of "life" in the "machine". Sometimes i feel like trowing it against a wall to see if it reanimates it... But i can keep myself from doing it. =)
We'll see..
probably stupid guess: maybe ur phone just stucked on something and may not be completely switched off??

Right, to start off ive had the XZ for a while now, (was a replacement for a damaged one mid last year). My problem is i think ive bricked it, (absolutely devastated ...) i would love to hear from some more experienced users who could possibly help me in my situation.
On my memory card i have a few different roms backed up for me to restore to at my leisure, (pac rom, beanstalk rom, stock 4.3, stock 4.3 with unlocked bootloader, cyanagenmod..) i use the latest dual recovery (twrp and clockwork).
Now here is my problem and how it occured....
I was running stock 4.3, with locked bootloader, rooted.....I booted to twrp recovery, in there i had a choice of roms to restore from, without thinking i restored a backup of cyanagenmod FROM MY Girlfriends xperia z, (was digging through my laptop last week to clear things up and seen a cyanagen mod backup... thought it was from this xz so put it on my memory card... .
So now ive wrote a cyanagenmod restore point which was made on my girlfriends xperia z which was an unlocked bootloader onto my current one, which was a locked bootloader.
When it happened last night i had around 50 % battery.
The phone shows very little signs of life. when plugged into wall charger it gives a flashing red led, around every second or so.
When connected to Flashtool (latest one) it connects in flashmode, thats without pressing and holding down, (get same results if i press and hold down also.
The phone will not connect in Fastboot mode (up and plug usb in).
Holding power and up for 10, 20, 30 seconds does nothing but blink a red led at me.
It is recognized in windows (7,32bit) but will connect for a while then disconnect, then re connect then disconnect etc...
I do have full backups (made in twrp) of full stock rom, i have full backup of my T.A partition. im wondering if there is anyone on here had anything similar to this and successfully brought it back from the brink ? Only done without my phone for today and im lost without it....
here is a log of what happens in flashtool when im plugged in..... trying to flash a generic unbranded sony ftf.....

You could try to flash a recovery..... Maybe it'll work.... As long as your pc detects it, there's a chance to get it back to life..
How ?

I'm afraid though, that this one needs a working phone...
You could also try to just flash the kernel..... Use flashmode and exclude anything but the kernel....
Or you extract the stock kernel and flash it via fastboot mode...
Try unlocking your bootloader. The fact that you flashed a backup including a custom kernel while locked could be the cause of your problems.
Edit - Sorry, my bad. I didn't see that you said you cannot enter fastboot.
Question - Did you restore the TA partition from your girlfriend's phone to your phone? If so, there is nothing you can do, unfortunately.

Im afraid i did, when in twrp it gave me the option of what to restore, i checked all of the boxes.
So your saying theres nothing that can be done for this z now ? wonder what sony would charge for a replacement or have you any idea if sony can fix it ? sorry for all the questions, its like loosing an arm not being able to boot my phone up
Unfortunately, it's hard bricked and I'm not sure any service centre has the tools to restore it. You could just take it in and say it stopped working, I suppose. They may offer you a reduced cost replacement if you're still under warranty.

Well don't feel sad, you didn't loose your girlfriend
The flashing red led under normal circumstances would indicate a low battery state and charging
Now i'm presuming that you've tried the soft and hard resets with the power and volume buttons to no avail
The fact that your PC will not recognize the phone would also point to this ie. low battery state
I had a similar problem meself ,but the guy who had owned the phone before me had taken the back cover off,so i disconnected the battery to try to stop this cycle of on/off
Now this dint work for me
So im im scratching me head and trying to work out the next move
So i brought for £6 of ebay a replacement battery now this fixed my problem as soon as i plugged the phone in to charge the red led went solid so it was taking the charge, when fully charged ie. greed led i pressed the power button and the phone started up in the normal way
Now i appreciate that you might not want to take off your rear cover and the battery out
So as a backup I brought one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4200mAh-E...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item3f29034d76
Which when fully charged will also give you access to the USB port and maybe (hopefully)your PC so enabling you to flash it
Good luck

I know you're trying to help, but a new battery will not fix this issue. He flashed another device's TA partition to his phone. That causes an unrecoverable hard brick. The bootloader performs checks on content in the TA when you power the device on and if it doesn't find the correct hashed keys, then it halts boot. There is no way to correct this.

Yes, im quite sure another battery would not fix this issue. I think my best and cheapest route would be to buy another xz with a smashed screen and swap the motherboards over, thanks to all who have tried to help. If only i could desolder the chip with the TA partition and hot boot it in her phone, wouldnt know which chip to do this with and if it would even work...

Surely this is the problem
By doing what he as theres no OS on the phone and thereby nothing to control the charging cycle hence the on/off cycle
and the battery is just running down and the PC won't recognize the phone
By disconnecting the battery its the biggest hard reset of all
By replacing it with an external source/or new battery hopefully the PC will acknowledge the phone and a reflash can be done
Just my take on it
Its worth a try and not as defeatist
I know for sure it worked for me

He says that he flashed his girlfriend's TA partition onto his phone.
Flashing a TA partition from another device hard bricks your phone 100% of the time. No exceptions. There is no way back from it.
Please read up on what I'm saying before disputing it further. Thanks.

Just been raking around in my draw and came across my old Xperia Z (as in the one discussed here). I had a little google around and it seems there is a way to fix it now, I've successfully re flashed my t a partition with the backup I made with setool, (used another program called ta_gen which converted my ta backup into sin file). Still actually trying to get through all the posts to bring it back from the dead, just wondering if you have came across this info, if im missing anything and what your thoughts are ? Cheers

Try hard resetting it (power + volume up till it vibrates 3 times) then try rebooting it.

@kefi999
After following your posts about this today in the several threads you have been posting in I want to give you some very useful advice
STOP
Read the guides and tutorial threads, especially the newer ones. You seem to be randomly flashing stuff with out any real understanding and that is the quickest way to end up with a hardbrick.
Take some to time to understand what you are doing, then you will see that what you have been doing is superfluous e.g downgrading to root, its not needed anymore
Please do not try and do this blindly, take some time and learn. It was the best bit of advice given to me and I hope you take it on board as well
u are 100% right i am sry for spaming all over the place i just freaked out SRY

You don't have to be sorry, he's not saying anything about spamming in here. Xda is the place to be and to get help regarding android. His point is that you should try to learn and understand what are you doing with your phone because if you do something wrong when you're rushing like this then it's a straight way to actually kill your phone.
He just wants you to learn instead of rushing so you wouldn't do any harm to your device.
Quick example of how can u kill your phone:
Flash ftf file from Z ultra to Z1. Phone is most propably dead.
Just don't rush and try to learn what actually are you doing and you'll be fine.
hahaha
ok so i installed a custom rom (PAC-rom) on my phone locked bootloader and all, now i wasnt able to get into anything Google even though i installed gapps so i entered the recovery and selected wipe rom for now rom i selected it and everything it came up with a message that i didnt read and blam it reboots,, now i have no rom and no recovery so im a little stuck ive done this before btw, but this time whenever i use the flashtool for a stock sony rom it keeps saying drivers are not installed even though ive installed them though doom lords xperia drivers installer so i dont know what to do. if anyone mentions adb you will have to explain as i know nothing of it. thanks for any help

I had this problem some time ago, I can barely remember how I fixed it. Anyway, first of all turn off the phone using a small object (e.g. pencil) by removing the back cover and gently pushing through the yellow bit (it says shutdown near it). Then wait about 30 secs, now you want to force it into flashmode so have flashtool open and connect the usb to the computer, then connect the usb to the phone whilst holding down the volume down button, you will see a green light on the bar. Now you should be on flashmode so flashtool should work. If this doesn't work get back to me.
---------- Post added at 07:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:11 PM ----------
If that doesn't work then using a pencil hold down the yellow shutdown 'button' (under batter cover) for 10 seconds, the device will then vibrate three times and shutdown. Then wait a couple of seconds, after that turn on the device and whilst holding down the volume down button plug the usb into the phone (the other end must already be connected to pc with flashtool running), do this as soon as the phone is switched on. If your in flashmode then flash as required.
thanks

Check this out, it is 4.1.2 UK Gen but you can upgrade through PCC to 4.3. I have the latest 4.3 UK Gen ftf but it will take time for me to upload it so you would be better off trying the above.
For the EE firmware you can try this program to find out the customisation number and change it in your stock ROM build.prop so then you can repair through PCC to get the desired firmware.
Don't forget, if this helps press thanks.
thank you so mcuh
