I'm running jaybobs wicked new gingerbread rom (2.3.5) and i read on android police that the ice cream sandwich version of music beta leaked and can be successfully installed on gb OS users, however after installation ive only managed to get FC's despite clearing data afterwards. Has anybody been able to get it to run without issues, or should i just be patient...

Hi, I just wiped my g1 with superd (1.6) , i went to reinstall google maps and... it is disappeared from the market?
Is no more compatible with donut?
Latest Google Maps requires Android 2.1+.
Also, most if not all of the apps required android 2.x as far as I can remembered.
Yes, i noticed
There is a working apk for donut somewhere?
I remember 5.4 worked
I wonder why they don't use the multiple apk option for their apps, leaving people behind, the stock maps app does not work anymore, FC at launch...
you should upgrade to Gingerbread CM7 it is fast but not donut fast
but you will have MOOOOOORE Features with it
Any gingerbread rom is not stable enough yet use froyo for trout u can flash the cm contact mod and mms mod to get some features from cm its fast and stable

I feel that any android > 1.6 is slow on the Dream

Nice! Youre right!
A while back I rooted my G1 which was running 1.6 and I successfully rooted and installed cyanogenmod. I wasn't impressed with the battery life so I decided to switch roms. I did something wrong and my phone pretty much reverted back to unrooted Android stock 1.0. That was a while back and I have been pretty much hanging with it since. I could do generic things such as send and receive calls, send text messages, play music off sd, etc., but I'm tempted to find a way to root my phone again and with a diff rom. Is there a way to do this with android version 1.0? Can I also do this without a data plan and just wifi?
Here are the specs for my G1 if anything:
Firmware Version: 1.0
Baseband Version: 62.33.20.08H_1.22.12.29
Kernel Version: 2.6.25-01843-gfea26b0 [email protected] #6
Build number: kila-user 1.0 TC4-RC29 115247 ota-rel-keys, release keys
forget it. I got cyanogenmod up and running. Close thread.
Before this is closed, try out the Froyo for Trout rom. Its stable, and faster than CM. Really recommend this.
Anything will be better off than CM (that from my experieces) But the new CM (XDA Mod) is promissing.
@ TheIneffable - I would suggest (if you still wants to use CM) to look at [ROM] NameLessFroyo (CyanogenMod variant) by NLJ or [ROM][2.3.7 GB][18.10.11] BananaBread v1.2 DS +cMTD(Based on CM 7.1) by banana4444.
But if you would like to try other ROM, I suggest [Rom][2.2.2 AOSP] DREAMteam Froyo v1.9 "I'm hungry...." by DreamTeam (AKA:Green ROM Projects) or FroyoMelt (see my sig for link) also by DreamTeam (with Customization by ldrifta).

Anyone try this mod yet on an 8.9? Supposedly should work with our device (it claims to work with most android devices). I would try but don't have my tab with me:
I found it here:

Here's the text from the post:
Hey everyone. I stumbled across a scrolling cache mod the other day and just got around to modding my phone. I'm running CM nightly 35 and it works great. This seems to have eliminated any remaining lag I was experiencing on my phone with no o/c. Here's the link:

Also it appears that the link to the smali/baksmali tool is broken so here it is:

I'm presently running the Galaxian Soup Alpha for P7300 and it's smooth as an Ice Cream Sandwich without any tricks. I can't wait for a fully-functional ICS ROM.
Hello Everyone,
I'm not new to flashing roms to a device and updating the kernal or the modem for that matter. Darky has made it very easy for me to do so. I was using 10.2 resurrection for a great deal of time and then decided it was time to upgrade to his new rom. I had done that and without any problems at all, I was using it and it was all good, but then out of the blue(and i mean out of the blue) my phone rebooted and now it will not go into advanced (home+power+volume down) and I can hear it being recongized when I plug it into the computer figuring I just needed to do a full wipe and restore and figured that would solve my problem. I couldn't get it to be recongized by Odin when It was going through there. I figured that perhaps I should go through it and then just restore to an older G.B. rom and then upgrade, but Odin will not notice the phone when I plug it in.
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions at this point? I'm really willing to do it. I use the Samsung Galaxy SGH-T959D which is a varition of Bell's version which is the i9000. I've mapped the home keys and none of that was a problem.

Hey guys, I've been coming to XDA-Dev since I started getting Android devices. You guys have helped me hack my Kindle Fire to have ICS runing on it, my Nexus 7 running a custom ROM, my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 running a custom ROM and now my Nexus One is running a custom ROM.
Now I've tried all sorts of roms on my Nexus One. The stock rom doesn't cut it for me but I don't want to deal with the camera bugs with any form of ICS or JB rom that's running... I then came across MIUI. Never heard of it but took a chance. I LOVE IT. Problem is, it is constantly force closing apps. I have Blackrose installed, I have Mounts2SD running to my 8gb class 10 sd card (parition 1gb). And it's ok at first but within a couple of days it starts to have all sorts of problems. Pretty much everything has failed from Gapps to the mms service, it's locked up while taking images too.
Any ideas on what might be causing this problem? I've used ROM Manager to fix permissions as I read that it could be the problem. That fixed the gapps problem but I'm still getting the odd force close, sometimes where I have to remove the battery to get it to boot again. I've tried QND MIUI 2.3.30r4 and I've also tried the official 2.3.30 from the MIUI site but they both seem to have the same problems. I'm currently running the latter.
Thanks in advance!
A little late but....

Running flawlessly over a year and a half or so. I've made minor changes and adjustments which can be manually done.
