Hi to all.
Too many people knows, that the Gingerbread 2.3.7 (SwiftDroid v2.0 RC5 -CM7) don't include the LG Keyboard, just the Android Keyboard. Well, If you want the LG Keyboard back, just follow these steps:
1. Download this Zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?pua83aaeh1ng1fj
2. Copy the Zip to your Micro SD Card.
3. Reboot your cellphone in Recovery.
4. In Recovery, select:
a. Install Zip from sdcard
b. Choose Zip from sdcard
c. LG_IME_2.3.zip
5. Reboot your cellphone.
Notes:
- Tested by me using Recovery 4.0.1.5
- Original Thread: http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/20787-aporte-teclado-lg-ime-para-swiftdroid-234/
- The LG Keyboard it's the included on ROMS 1.6 and 2.1

I'm not sure. At this moment, I check two languages compatibles (XT9 and Suggestions): Spanish and English (USA). I'll be checking more languages and comment later.
Thx for the keyboard

A good new, know that you're using the Keyboard.
Nice guide but it is in the wrong section,
It needs to be in the Themes/Apps section.
Anyways, good job!

Thanks man. I've been using keyboard from P500 ported to GT540 by airbus360, it works fine but the only thing I missed is T9, it apparently doesn't support my language.

I've installed this keyboard and yes, the English T9 works pretty good.
But, unfortunately my daily language (which is Indonesian) doesn't seems listed in the writing language
But thank you anyway, without T9, this one works nice.
Thought there would be just .apk needed.
Does anybody knows which T9 dictionaries are inculded? Also german?

Sorry, I can't understand your first line, because my english it's poor.
I have tested the German language with T9 and works.
Thanks for testing!
My first line means, that I thought there would be an installer or something like that. Just like a normal app. But recovery is also okay.

there are additional files you need not only the app.apk.
you can extract the zip and put it on your own into the system but recovery is easier.
the apk file is also in the zip

Hey, friends.
I run the resolution of many software programs will appear too small,
all can not run full-screen,
leaving black box about the following.
Will this be how to solve?
By the way,
how to change the system language to Chinese?
Thank you
change lcd.density=160 to 240,no chinese lanuage to select.
if youre not sure how, someone posted the startup.txt in the froyo thread

in fact, no.
I could build a system image for other languages but you would lose all the cool stuff they have done to customize it. I would recommend asking very nicely in the xdandroid 2.2 thread in the Raphael forum.

will have a look into this thanks.
This keyboard is a part of the Lucid theme. Download the Lucid_CM7_HD2.zip and in the zip file you will find Latin_IME.apk. Replace the original in your ROM with that one.
okay here it is guys.
Note: This will not work with HTC Sence & some builds. reason being that this is a native android keyboard. Sorry.
None of those keyboards mentioned will work with my HD2 running Sergio Coredroid V.1.2, anyone recomemnd any other keyboards?

If you among those having an Xperia Pro with a slide-out hardware keyboard, and you have recently flashed a new ROM on your phone which messed-up the keyboard layout, then you have come to the right place.
Xperia Pro (and other Pro devices of Xperia range) has 14 different key layouts as mentioned on this page. I am releasing a specific update.zip file for each of the 14 different key layouts. Flash the relevant zip for your phone and your hardware keyboard should start working as it should.
To find out which layout is your phone keyboard, go to this page.
If you are unsure about the relevant key layout for your phone, then there is always the tedious option of flashing each update.zip and seeing if it works.
Note 1: I am only releasing 10 keyboard layouts now. I shall release the rest when I get some time to figure it out.
Note 2: This is for Xperia Pro, but might work in other Pro devices of Xperia range. Please confirm if anyone gets it to work on any other Pro devices.
Note 3: If any of the below does not work in your phone or you phone has a different layout than the below, please help me to get it fixed by sending me a PM.
Requirements
1. CWM recovery installed (or root if you are copying files manually).
Installation
1. Download and copy zip file to SD card
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Choose install zip from SD card, select zip and flash .
4. Reboot!
Technical Details about Key Mapping and Key Layouts
I shall be updating this post with some technical details, when I get time. For the time being, below are some useful resources.
Resources and technical details:
Keyboard Devices
Key Layout Files
Key Character Map Files
Binary KCM Files (prior to Android 3.0)
In addition to the above keyboard mappings from Android, Sony (Ericsson) uses a different method for key mapping which is clearly described here:

Not only root access, but a way to boot CWM.
While on recovery, select "Install zip from SD Card", then "Choose zip from sdcard" then you select the file of the keyboard layout you downloaded.
Reboot your device and it should be running correctly.

My friend ameer thank you for your work.
I am for try. In a few moments you tell.
Someone said the difference between African and European releases is that in the African firmware @ goes to the right side of space, in European it goes to the left. I have annoying problem that 3rd party keyboards do not work properly with the hw keyboard. Ill give a try to the African fw, perhaps it'll indeed make the hw keyboard behave outside xperia kb.. Swedish/Finnish firmware would be perfect for experiment.

Wait a second.. These are the same .kcm and .kl files I was discussing over here .. These files do not change the keyprint.xml? Then it won't work.
I'm not sure if you're supposed to change
<Script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty"/>
to
<Script name="latin" keylayout="arabic"/>
but it probably would work with the xperia keyboard.
And with regards to those .kcm/.kl files, at least the finnish/swedish variant messes up the HW keyboard. Specifically wrong special keys, no öäå. At least this happens if you have set the keyprint.xml to use qwerty-se-fi

Hey guys, since i got asked by several beta testers from freedomOS i thought i'll make a thread for everyone.
If you go to your language setting and chose "English (XA)" as first language and then your desired language, for examle "German", as second (so pull english xa on top and the other language under it) your phone language will still be your desired language and not english.
Now you can use the new Font section of OB17 also with other languages than english, chinese and japanese.
I dont know why this only seems to be working with English XA though. Maybe because its kind of empty or not working and system skips to second selected language, no idea.
