Hi, I need your help guys . How can I connect Kaiser to PC and access SD card? I use Windows 7, Kernel With Separate Cache Partition and vIncubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 . Thank you guys very, very much .
i don't known, .....................
I'll wait for some answer, for sure it's possible somehow .
it won't work on windows systems. It works on linux and mac. Either get one of those or downgrade to .25 kernel if you really want usb storage on windows.

Hi all
I am using HTC diamond P3700 currently with windows mobile 6.5 installed, but now i would like to experience Android on my phone, and I am going to install the following version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780130
I noticed that I have to create an Ext2 partition on my HTC internal memory first, and it requires gParted which is under Linux platform. Since I am using Windows 7, so I used VirtualBox to create a virtual environment to install Ubuntu.
Now, i am facing the problem that my gParted doesnt detect the connected HTC diamond.
Could anyone please kindly instruct me to solve this problem?
Besides, the ext2 partition tutorial is in some language which is not english, so could anyone please write a quick english tutorial?
Many many thanks in advance!!
I changed from FAT32 to ext2 partition in Windows 7 using: Acronis Disk Director Home. and I was able to install android without any problem.
thanks, I will give it a try first. is it straight forward?
btw, so are you using Android on HTC diamond please?
May I know what ROM and android you are using please?
can you guyz tell me that where should I put my downloaded android file into:
I mean should I put it in ext2 or fat32................
did you mean there will be no fat32 anymore...............is it???

I also wonder may I auto boot Android when I start the phone, using something like Gen.Y DualBOOT, if so, how to do it please?
By the way, did you create your ext2 under Linux gParted? do you know how to do it on windows?

im using the original WM 6.1 rom on my diamond................
you can't use the auto boot android directly because you have to do the partition and then you have to install the android boot first.......... after this things step are complete then you can boot android from Haret...........
I used MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition v 5.2 for the partition step on windows 7................... but to see the ext2 partition you have to install Linux on your pc.
for the partition watch this.........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyO6DOS1leQ................
and for the instillation part and things just follow this steps............
1)Create an EXT2-Partition with a minimum size of 300MB (see video-tutorial in this article)
2)Download Neopeek Android Installer
3)Extract npkinstall.zip to the root of your internal memory / sdcard
4)Download Haret-Paket
5)Extract contents of Haret-Paket to the root of your internal memory / sdcard
6)Now Download latest CyanogenMod6-Port or any other Android (please have a look into our community. There are lot of builds available). Now rename this download to androidinstall.tar.gz and put it into the npkinstall-folder. There are several Text-Files in this folder like diamond.txt, raphael.txt etc. Just rename the one that matches your device to startup.txt.
7)Now run install.exe within the npkinstall-folder. Your device will reboot when it has finished installation.
8)Move to the root of your memory where you have extracted Haret-Paket
9)Locate Startups-Folder and copy the startup.txt which matches your device to the root of your memory
10)Now run Haret.exe from the root of your memory and Android should boot up! That's it.
this step are originaly taken from http://www.neopeek.com/en/stories/android
i hope I helped you a little
so let say I have successfully boot Android on my phone via HaRet, may I use Gen.Y DualBOOT later to boot into Android automatically?
or the only way to start Android is still manually start HaRet under WM please?

My experience told me that,
First you have to create the FAT32, and the size doesn't really matter, but it is your Android internal storage, which can be shown in Windows.
Second, you create the ext2, size between 300mb to 512mb, this can NOT be shown in Windows.
Third, the linuxswap, 64mb (I think is definite, cant be randomly selected)
After all this, u should be ready to do the rest

I have windows XP SP3 and i am using Minitool Partition. Below were the steps taken,
1 - Formatted the Inetrnal Storage.
2 - Resized it to 3.20GB Fat32
3 - other unallocated 500MB changed it to EXT2
4 - and some 64MB under Linux Swab
Once this is done and when i try checking on the phone in file Explorer..i dont see the Internal Storage to run the files..its completely missing.
I reformmated the whole thing to Fat32 and now i am able to see it under File Explorer...Just wondering what did i miss out...as i know some of us were able to pass through this.
HI I am My htc touch diamond is not detected on windows 7 via usb cable. it seems to be some hardware issue.
can I still partition the internal memory? I am able to connect to Windows via Bluetooth(Windows Mobile Device Center)
Please help.
Hey, Im trying to install and run android x86/arm on a 7 inch cheap netbook from eBay. I know it can be done "watched on youtube" but i follow the tutorials, download file extract the "script" folder to SD card, insert SD card into netbook, power on and it should start installing android.
This does not happen so tried with "unetbootin" to the SD card, inserted into netbook, power on....still nothing and boots straight into Windows CE each time.
Can anyone help me out ?
I'm assuming it doesn't have a DVD slot?

Nope, no cd/dvd drive (i wish) and usb does not support 2.0, so cant use an external dvd drive either.

I think I'd be tempted to get one and put Ubuntu on it.
Well yeah that would work, its for a 11 year old, would they understand ubuntu, and would wifi and facebook is all that really needed to work. And i need it to reconise the sd on boot.

did you try to clean format your sd card before installing?
use a tool called hp usb storage tool, google it, you can find it in softpedia and format the sd card using it, usually solves a lot of boot problems
Tried formating with the tool to FAT32, copied the script for android to SD, nothing booted into CE and so...tried live usb creator to make the SD bootable still nothing boots into CE.
Really annoying

yeah it sounds weird, he got into the setup without pressing anything, hmm, did you try another sd card?
Now that u mention it im using a 8gb micro sd in an SD adapter.
Try a smaller card . Maybe a phone or some other powered device as the "card reader". Just throwing out ideas. GL.
Does the device even recognize the card when powered on normally? Like as a storage device?

Yeah it reconises the SD card when i plug it in to the slot, and can view the files on it.

Idk an easy way. I put my card in the CPU, the back in the phone and transfer it to the internal from there. Sucks, yes
You need to install something extra to get MTP support on OSX or so I hear, once that's installed you'll be able to see the S7 with HC installed.

well for the HD2 running WP7 it works (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1414126.html) and considering that HD2 and HD7 basically have the same hardware I'm pretty sure it will work. Also HD7 is "newer" than HD2
somwehre in the turotial thread which talks about upgrading the sdcard for the HD7
i recall reading someone having success with a 64gb sdcard
U can always try .
but make sure u unlock yr old sdcard with the xmod cab before removing in case yr new card dont work, u need to put back yr old sdcard again
basically sdcard in wp7 is locked and u remove it and turn on the phone, the OS will think the card is locked and will not recognise , because u did not unlock it first before removing.
So dont ever do this without unlocking the old sdcard.
if u unlocked it, u can format it in the PC and put it back to the phone again it will recognise it as a fresh empty card and issue a new lock and flash to it
This is a security mechanism for privacy reasons built into wp7 Called TFAT in case someone gets hold of yr phone and removes the internal storage to read its contents if yr phone has a lock screen password . So they can still remove the internal storage to read it in PC. To Prevent this WP7 uses TFAT system
The TFAT file system is best suited for non-removable media, such as NAND and NOR flash memory. Removable media can also use TFAT, but there are potential issues when attempting to use a TFAT removable card on a Windows desktop OS. Because there is no implementation of TFAT on Windows desktop OSs.
So this why wp7 removed card are not redeable in desktop win OS
To remove this TFAT limitation u need to unlock the sdcard with the xmod cab
You can also format the card on symbian phone and make it work again normally
I think I read a post about it here, I'll get it.
But it is also true that SDXC cards use a different technology to SDHC

Nokia formatting only works on sdcard which have nodo OS in it
If u have upgraded to mango ,Nokia formatting method wont work .
With mango OS ,, u need to deploy the xmod storage unlock cab before removing it
After this u can format the sdcard in yr PC or desktop computer itself ( No nokia device needed)
If u dont use the xmod unlock cab, the card is locked forever, even nokia devices will not be able to format it

Hmm... I'll have to try the Nokia E63 the next time, if I can get my hands on one. I tried the N95 and it wouldn't recognize or format my original WP7 16gb SD card out of my HD7. I tried all kinds of phones, printer stations and cameras and nothing would work. I ended up flashing Dynamics 7 Mango version to the device and installed Storage Lock Cab via Cab Sender and unlocked 3 WP7 SD cards without any problems.
When I connect (USB cable) my new Huawey P9 to a Laptop (Win7) Windows recognize it as a new drive, but can not open the files on Cards. With my old Samsung Galaxy this was possible, and easy and comfortable. For example easy to copy MP3 files from laptop to card, and listening them on phone.
Is that possible with Huawey P9?

Yes, I have drivers and HiSuite also. But still I can access the SD card of the Phone from my Laptop, but accessible from Phone of curse. Is that possible that the problem is that the SD card is a Samsung type? With Samsung Galaxy N700 the access was rather simple with USB connection (fast), and the card was readable a writable too by Windows.
To be clear: how to access (simplest, fastest way) the SDcard of a mobile from a WIN-Laptop?

I did it in the end! The way: Taping seven times at the Build number enables the developer mode. Than:
1 Enabling error-checking on USB
2 Enabling application checking on USB
3 USB configuration: MTP
Now it works as I prefer.
I had the intention of formatting as you suggested, but is seems that this is the way needed.
Thanks for advices!
