Hello all. My wife asked me to install a home screen on her LG revolution. She likes ADW but misses the 'in touch ' widget when she changes the home launcher app. It seems to only work with the factory home screen. She likes to have quick access to her music, videos, and pictures. Are there any other alternatives? I am having a hard time finding even a generic name for it. Thanks.

Search for appwidgetpicker. Download the apk and put in the /system/app folder.

Tried this, didn't show up in the list of widgets. Also, it will not install. Tried changing the permissions and still no go.
Flash ReHomed and you will have all stock widgets that can run on any launcher, plus LGHome is an improved version.

Hello all! Here it is the LG Home Rom based off of GingerVolt Rom!!! It has been cleaned thoroughly to decrease size and to increase speed while keeping the LG Home and Widgets.
What is this?
This is an add on to the very lightweight rom that was built both for speed and stability. This rom is based off of the latest LG update to Gingerbread. It is fully deodexed, and debloated. Almost all LG has been kept to keep the stock options with the added tweaks for spped and battery life. Swype has also been changed to the newest Beta. Also included is the appwidgetpicker to clean that up.

What if I don't want all the stuff? I would like to try gingervolt1.2 but I would also like to keep LGHome and the alarm clock app. The rest I can do with out. Is there a way to get just those 2 items and nothing else?
and honestly all I really want is the alarm app. Best alarm app ever.
Thanks!
Download something like anntek app manager and freeze/delete/uninstall the programs you don't want
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
The point is not to do all that. He wants the individual plugin and app.
I wanna say thanks for this. I noticed in the stock browser the zoom keys are whited out. When you click on them they turn turquoise?
Also was wondering if there was a way to get all the alarm sounds back in the alarm app.

Put this file into the system/app folder on your phone. Just place it in using something like root explorer, don't try installing
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5rdrsezt5dy525d
you rock thanks!
For people wanting only specific system apps...Didn't k0g make some kind of app repository somewhere?
So this is essentially a combo between the stock ICS launcher + auto-rotate posted by bajansurfer and the 3 screen stock ICS launcher posted by matt_stang. what i'm posting is a 3 screen launcher which auto-rotates for landscape mode. I'm running oICSv26 and it works flawlessly (the app is actually sourced from koush's build). obviously i didn't create these mods, but only really combined them.
you should know what to do with this, not compatible with Gingerbread ROMs. rename to Launcher2.apk and push to system/app and set permissions or copy to system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r-- or:
Code:
x x -
x - -
x - -
in the root explorer permission grid.
download
updated with middle screen as default.
CM9 Trebuchet Launcher2 with 3 screens (includes preferences with enable/disable auto-rotate. version 0.1, Dock and Icons in preferences no workie)
Nice. Does having 3 screens use less Random Access Memory?

no idea, guess in theory it would but I don't know if it does in the real world. I just only need 3 screens.

I was thinking of uninstalling the original home screen and replacing with golauncher. Is this worth doing .. I need any pros and cons you guys can come up with ....so far I haven't been too successful with roms ... thanks

It's definitely worth switching in my opinion there's absolutely no down side, the stock launcher sucks and most others are customizable. Go launchers pretty good, I like adw better but it's all about what you prefer. Be careful if deleting stock apps they can be trouble if they're not deodexed.

I've tried a ton of launchers, if you want one that's quick and light on your battery i'd go with zeam launcher. Adw is more customizable and still very fast, go launcher felt a little slower to me but still a good option, launcher pro is okay but in my opinion slower than the others. You should try a few out until you find one that works for you...

+1 for Zeam!
I've tried dozens including Go but I always, always come back to Zeam. I like mine clean and fast and Zeam delivers.
If you want themes then definitely give Go a shot. TONS of devs on that one. And I wouldn't worry about battery. I keep Go installed so I can use Go Locker and have never had issues. /t
Just what the title says. IMO its smoother then Apex and Nova. I really haven't had time to play with it but so far so good. Wish this update was available when I was stuck on HC.

But at least it was worth the waiting.
Had to fix screen size and some other settings after new update. It was a pain, don't really notice anything new while running on stock ICS

Was quite happy using adw ex launcher. There is a bug though. When u add a folder on the home screen, initially you could edit the folder to change the icon or rename the folder. It doesn't work anymore. Any idea people.

After trying EVERY other launcher including paid ones, none come close to Go EX...

On my rooted KFHD 7 (7.2.3) using the widget picker found on this forum and Go Launcher Tablet edition, the standard beautiful widgets FC; the HD edition of BF do work but they don't scale nice, the 4*2 clock seems to need at least 3 rows and the whole width of the tablet.

Hey guys,
i dont now if this is the right thread to post it.
i just got my kindle fire 10.2.4 version. I didn't root it and installe the adw ex launcher. It works perfect until i try to set up widgets. After i press "widgets" simply nothing happens. I tried the AppWidgetPicker apk. then i can see all my widgets. After i choose one it says "AppWidgetPicker" closed and nothing happens.
I read that is becaus you have to copy the widgetpicker apk to system->apps. If i try that, it says "copied" but if i look in the folder afterwards the apk. is not there. Is there any other solution? I just want the widgets on my adw screen.
Thank you!
You have to be rooted to put files in system/app/ folder.
