GPS Not Working - working on a fix
Has this been tested by your or testers personally? Or is this a blind build?
Ok ill be the first to bring it up ;-)
You dont mention gps...not working I take it?
Been running it on my Vibrant for over a week and have had no issues so far....
FFC is working great with I9000 camera lib files and T959 model number in build.prop...

I really wanna try this, nut I've been on miui/cm7 so long and never had to mess with the bootloaders so I imagine I have froyo, is there a flash pack for the bootloaders or something?

Thanks for posting that. I am working on a easier way to do it. I should note however that coming from MIUI or CM7, you must check the re-partition box in Odin. If i remember correctly this deletes the internal sd card so don't forget to back that up first!
Damn thanks for the Link but no working PC right now for Odin :-(

very interested in getting this.
Just switched from a captivate to the vibrant. Can't imagine a phone without Serendipity VII.
Any ETA on when the GPS issue will be fixed? That would make this perfect.
I wonder if it had a GPS enabled kernel ( Bullet ) instead of Lidroid... it would work?
OP-- have you tried ODINing bullet JVP to this ROM?
I odined back to stock, and then flashed this rom. i can't even get past the lockscreen because logsprovider keeps fc'ing. anyone know a fix?

Agreed,
This is a very smooth, stable and very snappy rom. GPS would make the icing to the cake!
Can anyone comfirm if I can go from JVT to JVO without having to do any extra flashing? Do I need to flash Lidroid? or can I just flash this rom and be fine?

I will be working on this more, as I'm sure Eugene will be too so we can get a working, bug free froyo to hold us off until we get our hands on an official release with a 2.2 kernel. As usual, this is experimental, there are bugs, flash at your own risk. Please do not report any bugs at this time, we are aware of them and are working to get this running smoothly.
WARNING: Some have reported that this wipes the internal sdcard, I personally have not had this happen to me and I've flashed this at least 100 times. None the less, BACKUP you internal before hand just in case!
Download: Vibrant Froyo JP3 Test3
- Flash 10.1 full was hit and miss but now it works flawlessly! You can even watch hulu! ooolala
Download: Vibrant Froyo JP3 Test2
- remapped buttons (menu, home, back, search) EDIT: the home button apparently is also acting as a back button, I will fix today.
Download: Vibrant Froyo JP3 Test1
- Fixed wifi!
Recovery:
1. Recovery Works Perfect, but up & down are reversed
2. When using nand restore, Be-sure to flash a 2.1 Kernel as well. (Nand does not replace the kernel when restoring)
3. ClockworkMod now see's the sdcard from froyo, so Downgrading is fine as long the rom you are flashing has a Kernel that Pre-Flashes / or you flash a 2.1 kernel after switching to another 2.1 Rom coming from Froyo!
4. And YES...you can revert back...I've already done it a few times. Just flash another rom like Eugenes or mine (bionix) and you'll be back to 2.1.
Rom Issue's:
1. Volume Key's are now Fixed, up is up.... ect.
2. 3.5m Headset Jack not working **broken - fix in progress**
3. Home & Back key both acts as the HOME button **FIXED!**
4. Bluetooth **working**
5. Wifi **now working!**
6. GPS **broken - fix in progress**
7. To answer in advance...no...JIT is not working currently.

Working great, using a stock launcher from 2.2 which I have attached to this message. Never would have thought not being able to use back button would be a problem. It is. Gonna get the android keyboard and slap it on her too.

I havent actually seen the Cyanogen Rom/Vibrant thread so I figured Id start one. So after my buddy put it on his captivate, I figured I would take the plunge and I would try it on the Vibrant. I was running Obsidian v5 and ported right from that. I take no credit for this, aside from doing it, Give the devs the credit, there the one keeping the community going.
GOES WITHOUT SAYING I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PHONE! FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
Steps for Flashing
Source:Cyanogen i9000 forum
1. Make sure your phone is fully charged! Update process will take some time.
2. Make sure that you've not applied any lagfix to your phone. Otherwise remove it!
3. Make sure you're actually on JPM Firmware or newer. If not, flash and boot into it. We need this Modem Firmware!
4. Download initial Kernel (Link).
5. Download CyanogenMod Beta3 (Link) and copy it onto your internal sdcard. Don't extract!
6. Optional: Download Google Addon (Direct DL Link) and copy it onto your internal sdcard.
7. Make sure you have more than 500 MB free space on internal sdcard.
8. Flash initial kernel "CM-GalaxyS-Kernel-initial.tar" as PDA via odin (no pit, no repartition).
9. Reboot into Recovery
10. Do a Nandroid Backup. Choose "Backup and Restore", then "Backup". It's very important!
11. Go back and do a factory reset / data wipe. It's really necessary otherwise your phone won't boot.
12. Choose "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard", choose CyanogenMod and apply it! This will take some time!
13. After this your phone should boot. Don't touch it for a few minutes (4-5), it has a lot to do.
14. OPTIONAL: Enable Wifi, reboot to recovery and flash Google Addon (choose "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard" -> "gappsXXX"). Reboot!
15. Setting up your google account can take some minutes. After this you should enable Wifi immediately!

Installed it last night and Initial thoughts... AWESOME. Granted yes this is still very beta and buggy. Other than that, flash went smooth and have only noticed a few things.
Noticed Issues
Cyanogen Issue Tracker
1. Haptic feedback doesnt work outa the box
2. Installed better kb for kb haptic feedback, but the 4 btns on the bottom still dont have it.
3. Fixed with Eugenes Beta3 kernel You have to install the toggle headset widget and set it at every boot
4. Fixed with Eugenes Beta3 kernel Seems the Home and Back buttons act the same sometimes. (Hit home and it goes back)
5. Havent heard 1 issue about this on the vibrant My buddy on the captivate noticed on his that every call the hearing got worse for the person on the other side, and the other person had a hard time understanding him
6. Disreguard Angry Birds and a select few other apps causes an acore FC, followed by a "stopped unexpectedly" FC
7. Camera display is B/W but it does take color pics
8. Fixed WirelessAP doesnt work (fixed per codeworkx twitter) Use wifi Tether pre_15

sorry that guy used jfs overkill lagfix to get that score but 2000 is not bad with no lagfix installed. i wonder how much more performance can they squeeze out of this phone. its plenty fast enough to do anything. but a hobby is a hobby
Umm theres a better version (a vibrant version) put out by eugene. Plus you should flash the stock 2.2 kernel to fix the buttons. Been running cm6 for a week now
Edit. When tring to flash a new kernel on this beta version from the i9000 remove the ext support or flash a kernel with ext2/3/4 support built in.

Darky Q&A
It seems that a pinned Q&A for Darky is missing here.
I have been using Darky 8.1 and just recently decided to give 9.3 a try. One of the things I have liked about Darky is that that the version of 2.2.1 on it supports bluetooth voice dial. I have a BlueAnt S4 in my car, and although it does not voice dial 100% perfectly, it's still worth using. (the rest of the 2.2.1 roms I have tried that do not support bluetooth handsfree)
Okay, here is my question: on Darky 8.1, going to Settings - Display - Wallpaper -Lock screen wallpaper - Gallery ... would result in->
Sorry!
The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
[Force close]
I seem to remember the initial update to 9.0 (or 9.1) listed that this was fixed. I just got 9.3 running last night, and this still results in a force close. Does Darky have a forum to post this kind of thing, where the developers might see it?

Same problem here, also on Darky 9.3 extreme cappy. I've tried reflashing the captivate swype file, restoring a previous back up, and installing the newest beta. No dice on all 3 accounts.
This doesn't seem to be a problem with just Darky though, and poking around the site it doesn't look like it is exclusive to the Captivate either.
Darky's 9.3 phone not receiving calls
Once again I would have posted in Darky thread in android development if I could..
Ever since I have installed Darky's my phone has had problems receiving calls and will often say "simcard removed from phone please reboot". Today I got a new simcard because I thought that may be the problem but I tested and it still doesn't work. My friend rung me and as the call comes through my phone loses service and the call gets cut instantly and slightly later it'll pop up saying simcard removed please reboot phone. Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe it's time to go to Cyanogen Mod..
Did you ever restore data with Titanium Backup after you installed Darky's?
Yup I restored everything that was on my old rom Cognition
That's your problem. I used to have the same problem. Your phone settings is different between the two ROMs. You should typically ONLY restore app data. Not the system data.
Try going into back into TiBu, then find 'Phone' and click on 'Wipe data'. Hopefully that'll make your calls work again. If not, you might need to reflash Darky's.
System data backups really don't work well between different ROMs (and even different versions of the same ROM).
P.S. Nice to meet another NZer btw.
Oh I see, yeah that makes sense, I asked a friend if I should restore everything I backed up and he wasn't sure so I just restored them all anyway. Now I'm not sure if I should reflash Darky's or move to Cyanogen Mod.
I would try the 'Wipe data' thing first before I try any flashing though!
Upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3 help
In the dev thread, it says you should flash a captivate kernal and modem before installing 9.3. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a guide to flashing modems/kernals.
Just kinda worried cause I have read so much about people bricking their phones when putting the wrong kernal/modem combo together. I noticed on the Darky app it has options already there, so do I have to downlad the kernal seperately, or did it come with the app, or does the app download it from somewhere?
I am afraid that if I flash the modem first, then reboot it won't match the kernal and I will get stuck.
Thanks!

You can flash a Modem in Recovery just like you Flash a ROM or Kernel. If you happen to Flash a wrong Modem it won't cause any problems other than you won't get Cell Service. I am presently using the New znkp1 modem and it doing Great on my Cappy with 9.3 Darky and SuckerPunch/Voodoo Kernel.

Just letting you know that in the Darky Rom Configurator App, if u enable LockScreen Wallpaper, it would use Samsung Gallery which has a battery draining bug. Hence it is an option in the Darky app before flashing.
If you really want to use it, enable it and then flash. Or I'll just work on disabling that menu option.

Don't know if I'm too late on this but...the modem/kernel combo included has been working good for me; no need to change it. Like rickysa2000 said, don't select a modem/kernel using Darky's Configurator when you flash 9.3.
My only SMALL issue has been when going into APPS and sometimes they won't scroll for maybe two/three seconds.
But it's still my favorite ROM so far (though it's only my fourth). Especially impressed with the dev's attitude and willingness to help!!!

i do not think the port will be coming anytime soon. Without source you can not have a captivate kernel. You can flash i9000 but no back button, and screen rotation, head phone jack, etc

Fasty II v2.0
No GPS
Been using FastyII since v1.5 (which was not that long ago). Exceptional ROM; however, I've never been able to get a GPS lock. I read the other posts regarding this issue, but can't find a solution. As a matter of fact, lbstestmode is not be found. What am I missing?

Download gps aid from the market, that might help your case.
Yup.. u r rite.. I messed it up. vcf file imported the contacts to my google account and I was searching them by checking only the phone option.
So the first question goes down as a stupid one

No luck. Just tried that along with several other "GPS Fix" apps. For GPS Aids, the XTRA (native mode) fails so I tried using it in "forced mode". Still nothing. Curious why I can't start lbstestmode.

Hmm you might have a captivate with a really bad gps .(hardware)
Where can I download v2? I'm running 1.9 now and loving it. The best battery I've had, ever. I'm getting 15 to 19 hours usage with ~2hrs display and 1-2hrs talk. The same basic setup since the day I bought it (7/10), multiple gmail accts, wifi and bluetooth on and display set to automatic.
3G problem
Hello I love the ROM. I had Fasty 2.5 but changed to Fasty II 1.9. Now my Browser dont work in 3G, yes in WIFI, also the Opera Mobile, but Opera mini works OK and other software that use 3G like Market and Slingplayer also work OK.
Thanks!
Check out my post here about my GPS issues: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17574640#post17574640
Loaded Fusion V and have GPS back. But, I prefer FastyII...
So Far So Good
I haven't had a chance to really test drive the ROM yet, but things are looking fine thus far. There is a small bug. I have the honey smoke theme. I noticed that when I go to make a wifi connection and enable auto rotate (when entering WEP key) I have to manually go into settings in order to turn it off again. The drop down auto-rotate button won't work. Nothing major. Keep up the good works guys!
App kill
3rd day on fasty.. no issues.. Excellent battery life
I miss the CM7 feature which kills the current app by long press Back button. If possible, could you please add that in the next version
I have a problem, sometimes I try to open an app and looks like crash or something because reboot the phone, was with latitude, TouchPal keyboard trying to open it and the last was trying to read a text .

Cm7 (2.3.4) to fasty v2.0 92.3.4)
Hello Im currently have my captivate running on cyanogen mod-7.1.0-RC1 (2.3.4). I would like to switch over to fastyv2.0(2.3.4). I have looked everywhere on this site to see if I can just flash it from my sd card or if I needed to take other steps to make the switch to this rom? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Last I checked fasty 2 thread is closed, and I lack the link to dl atm. But on cyanogen you should flash to stock. And get GB bootloaders if you dont have them. Also If you dont havr bootloaders id recommend flashing jf6 or kb1 (based on your phones build). After on stock flash GB bootloaders and then flash boogs kh3 kernel, then cwm rom. Alternatvly you can flash stock kh3, but i still recommend jf6 or kb1 first.
Im not on my computer so dont have links sorry

Hey, I'm having a bit of difficulty getting v2 2.0 to work --
I followed all the instructions to the T, rooted and everything, but I'm having some difficulties getting the ROM to work?
Firmware Version: 2.3.4
Baseband Ver: I897UCKH3
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I897UCKH3-CL461307
Build: GINGERBREAD.UCKH3
I'm really not sure what the issue is, but it is giving me the old signature verification failed message when I attempt to install. (E:signature verification failed)
Thanks in advance

You need cwm. The esiest way to get it is flashing boogs kh3 kernel, DesingGears cog5 step 2 kernel (kf1) or any kernel with cwm.

Installed according to your instruction with the odining back to stock. Anyways, it seems to be bootlooping after voodoo lag fix has been enabled according to the robot voice. Any ideas?
Update1: Boot looping still happens with stock bullet kernel, talon, and bullet jvp odin version.

I'm in the same boat. I've started from scratch twice, but still getting bootloop at voodoo conversion. This is also with no tweaks installed.

Hmm Dont Know Why Its Doing That Try Converting With Another Rom And Flash Over With Ext4 Still On... If Your On Miui Or Cm7 You Have To Go To Stock...
Yup, i made sure to have the gb boot loader flashed after i went back to stock and no addition tweaks were applied. Other than that, problem seems to be the rom. The only rom I can think of to convert the partitioning correctly would be simply honey or simply stock but I have trouble receiving phone calls with that.
so far using the TW4 version, WiFi isn't working, now it could be me, so will report back if it cooperates after a modem/router reboot
TW4 version does not detect sim therefore can not connect to carrier. Rom is smooth tho and fast boot up.

Nope, it is not just you, I had the same. Wifi does not turned on at all, shuts down right away.
I backed out this ROM as I tried both these ROMs, same wifi problem.
