I live in Korea and got the HTC Raider a couple weeks ago. It is supposedly being released as the HTC Holiday in the US.
I am DYING to root this phone!!! Anyone have any idea how to do it? I would really appreciate any help!
Thanks a lot in advance!
hey, buddy. kinda like only in your country has both the raider and 9100, so how do you think about the two? and how do you like the raider?
Is the Korean version of the Raider unlocked? I live in Hong Kong - been trying to find a parallel import version but it seems impossible....
just got the rogers version of the raider... sad there's no root for it yet
Htc vivid aka raider/holiday has almost same specs but comes in black or white with a 1.2 ghz processor and its coming to the us november 6. Whats everyones reviews? Good, bad or go with the galaxy s 2?
I for the Bell version of HTC raider , it is blazing fast...I was able to clock 8.15mbps in lte mode. I was move on between LTE/HSPA+/HSPA/Wf-fi flawlessly.
its a great device
Not sure how to get the forum going for this device
Got My Bell HTC Raider yesterday
I had the s2 i9100 previously and love the HTC raider I clocked 10 mbs down in Calgary, don't even have LTE here yet that's just 4G+.

So what made u cross over to the htc raider? Im coming from my first android phone in the htc inspire 4g which im enjoying but i am ready for an upgrade and im stuck between the galaxy s2 skyrocket and the htc vivid from AT&T.
Went for the Raider/vivid due to dual channel hspa +
Sent from my HTC-X710a using XDA App
Dual channel hspa+ , notification light, LTE, since its a HTC phone once its rooted you can get beats audio on it.
Thought about waiting for the nexus but don't know if its dual channel hspa + yet and like having 16gb built in and the option for additional storage (have a 32gb micro SD)
Sent from my HTC-X710a using XDA App
Koreans already rooted the Raider/Vivid
a guy in the korean htc forum made a permanent rooting tool for it
which means that my raider is rooted
but I am not sure whether itz going to work for at&t version

Im not super android literate, i know theres different types of root from what ive read. i was able to temp root it using zergs one root method. It would revert back to non rooted status after restart. i unlocked my bootloader and applied this method afterwards and the phone is still rooted. i am able to use setcpu etc but most importantly titanium backup which i love. hopefully this helps some

Any issues with USB Connectivity using this method? Any issues with Micro SD Card? I know when I used this on my Atrix 2 which I returned for this device it started having issues with Not Mounting to the PC etc.
Not sure what you would like a picture of, i took a screenshot of my titanium home screen if that helps, it shows i have root access also took a screenshot in cpu master pro which requires root

So wait, HOW exactly do we use this? I don't think we can boot it into an emulator...I've tried loading ROM packages into the Android emulator (for personal use only), and haven't gotten anything other than the "stock" emulator image to appear...and yes I've read through the interwebs, but I haven't figured out how to do it. Trying to do it by summer, though.

The thunderbolt is shipping with 2.2.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I know, I just read that afterwards. Sadly...it'll prob get 2.3 though (after 6 months like every other HTC phone gets updated lol).
So couple of things. This download is hugh lol and has anyone tryed the radio in it yet just woundering if maybe we might see a chance of being able to access the lte network (wishfull thinking) if no one has do it by time i get home witch i will about 9pm i will do it well see what happens lol. other than that is it really gingerbread with sense.
No Gingerbread, it ships with 2.2 (I asked that question too lol).
And I think that the 4G radio is a hardware thing, not software . Good wishful thinking though XD
yea no joke but hey new radio no telling what good it could it do though.
True that. The Mecha doesn't only run on 4G, but 3G also, so it might up our data speeds. Theoretically. I mean, it kind of makes sense for that to be the case.

No, that doesn't kinda make any sense at all.

The radio.img controls much more than just 3G/4G. It controls other hardware in the device, and flasing a bad radio is the only (afaik) definitive way to turn your incredible (or any other device) into a shiny paperweight.
To use the 4G network, the phone would need LTE bands in addition to the CDMA bands, which the Incredible probably doesn't have.
I remember a few months ago, however, when someone found some 4G stuff in the Incredible system files. Something about it was supposed to go to Sprint but ended up going to Verizon at the last minute. So there could be a chance the Incredible has the capability to run on LTE, I guess.
I could be completely wrong, and it's mostly just speculation, but, yeah.

4g LTE requires a sim card
So even if our device had the capability somehow it doesn't at the same time

hey all. so i recently sold my old sprint hero that was rooted to cm6 and the new owner says that sprint hasn't been able to activate it to their account? is this normal? when i sold it, i did a reset to clear my data but i left it rooted (at their request). can someone tell me the easiest way to tell them how to unroot the phone? from speaking to them, i get the impression that they don't know much about this type of thing.

You guys should meet back up and you should flash a sense rom for them.
Only way for them to activate.
that's what i was afraid of. i sold the phone on ebay so it isn't someone local that i can meet with. so would you say that the easiest route would be for me to create a micro sd for them to boot from (someone else rooted my phone for me, but i rooted my nook color this way)? do you know offhand where i could find instructions to do this? i searched the android development forum but didn't see anything that dealt with going back to stock.

I found this guide and found it very helpful it has a ton of stuff.. for your issue see Factory Reset not too far down.
Hero Root Guide
Just use the ruu in zip format is does it all for you in one file. Just send him the zip, tell him to put it on his sd, power the phone off, plug in the charger, hold down volume and power and 15 min later wham pure stock. No root no recovery. Just like out of the box
Yea it's me again. The one with the -Modified-Hero

Don't Quote me but, I'm Thinking the new owner should be able to Activate it by phone! At least I was able to with Mine! If not try just installing a 2.1 sense Rom and Delete the Superuser App, From my Experiences Chances are they Won't even Check for Root!!
Good Luck!

Wither way they need to reprogram the phone for his phone number, and the only way to do that is use the hash codes which only work on sense roms. Otherwise, if you know your way around qpst, you can do it from stock.

Hello everyone. I recently got a used Motorola Milestone. I rooted it and was able to flash a custom ROM (specifically iceandfire-v1.8-16.03.11-milestone.zip) . Its a neat rom!!
My next step was to unlock it. I think it was locked to either Telus or WIND Mobile, but i wasnt 100% sure which. I purchased the unlock code online, and selected Telus as its locked carrier. I then got the unlock code, popped my ROGERS sim in ,typed in the unlock code, and success!!
However.... the phone does recognize the ROGERS carrier (on the main screen when u have to swipe to unlock the scrren),but does not get any signal from it. I did a carrier search in the settings ,and WIND was the only carrier it found.
So... 2 questions ,i guess: 1) is it bad that i chose Telus as the locked carrier when purchasing my unlock code? As the phone seems to like WIND Mobile (which causes me to believe it was locked to WIND after all)
And 2) or is it just that the ROM i have installed didnt come with the right radio code? Or no radio code adjustment at all?? Im not sure if radio is always a separate flash or not.
Any info would be appreciated... thanks

Shoot - i just learned in another forum that apparently WIND's band for 3g is 1700/2100mhz , where Rogers is 850/1900mhz.
So that may be my answer.... sorry about that.
Going to switch the milestone setting to 2g to see if that works.
Thanks! Any extra info is welcome ,however!

This was solved by flashing the below SBF file (using RSDLite on Windows)

After installing this, I tested the phone with Bell and Rogers SIM cards... nice clear signal and internet on both!!!!
Thanks everyone for your help. I hope others will find this useful.

Loving the phone. That's why it's the first phone I haven't rooted within the first 24 hours of ownership. If I were to root, which stock features will I lose? Blinkfeed?....Beats?....Wi-Fi calling?...etc...

Not sure if you completely understand what rooting means.
You are simply enabling root access, which allows you to change system files. You won't lose anything because of that.

Not unless you flash custom roms and start messing with root files.
Just going S-OFF and gaining root privileges will not change your phone in any way.
The benefits are that you can clear out some of the preloaded non-sense, (for me its stuff like dropbox, polaris etc.).
EDIT: beyond that you can flash custom roms and stuff, but for the first little bit, I usually just continue with the stock rom until I decide what I like and dont like.
I can tell you right now, one feature I miss is holding down my volume rocker to switch songs. Without my pebble to change songs right now in the car, I would be flashing roms to get one that allows that feature alone...
so I have had a galaxy s6 for a long while as well as a galaxy4 tab tonight I attempted to go through and root and install exposed on either and had nothing but issues it seems like us cellular models in specific do not get much support. Im hoping someone else uses US cellular as their carrier and could point me to a phone they offer that has less franchise modifications and they use both twrp and xposed framework/modules with.
any help is appreciated thanx in advance

my main problem is that Ive been having issues finding a decent OS that im able to install the framework on my phone is a 902r4 same with tablet ....r4 which dont cooperate or arent really supported by most Roms
I have tried using the xterstolite on the phone and it wasnt able to boot Ive heard of some using the sprint version but not getting data...but Id prefer to be able to install a decent OS on my phone and not run into this intricate compatibility issues
like I said im just looking for a phone that people have had success with using xposed as well as us cellular sp
