[Q] Share internet through bluetooth to Galaxy Tab p1010 - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm buying a Galaxy S 5.0, and like the Galaxy Tab p1010, he don't have 3G, or SIM card. With the Galaxy Tab p1010 can I use a phone with 3G and bluetooth to share internet ? I had a nokia n800 and I was able to do this very easy.
Sorry for my english.
Thanks

Hi rapha lira.
Same as mine.
I also has GT-P1010 and also nokia n900
Don't expect to much with wifi, because it doesn't support ad-hoc networking even you install joikuspot.
neither also with bluetooth.because samsung has use their own bluetooth stack that doesn't support DUN and PAN because my nokia n900 has already support dun and pan.
the only choice is buy 3g modem with wifi infradtructure support.
right now,I am going to hack and replace bluetooth stack samsung with bluez linux universal, hopely can

hum, so the only way to connect to internet is with teether, this is sucks, drain the battery very quickly.
But thank you, I will have to live with that.... Miss my n800, the best tablet, It's a shame that nokia is so dumb to kill maemo, and meego, and symbian, and now making a partnership with microsfot...

Hey! I found this thread when looking for a solution to my problem, but unfortunately this thread does not answer my question, however I maybe able to assist in your situation.
Depending on what phone you currently have (if it's a Nokia smartphone; including s60v3 and v5), you maybe able to tether your 3G/HSDPA for your Galaxy S 5.0. To do this, download and install JoikuSpot on your Nokia (JoikuSpot Premium recommend, to password protect your network). This software will allow you to tether your 3G/HSDPA from your smartphone via an ad-hoc network; the software will create an ad-hoc network.
Unfortunately as the 'Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0' runs on Android, it does not support ad-hoc networks; therefore the network you have created from your Nokia is not detected. However to over come this obstacle, you will need to root and apply a specific patch for Android, which will allow ad-hoc network communication; this will then allow your Samsung Galaxy 5 to connect to your Nokia's 3G/HSDPA.
The patch has been developed by XDA forum member blackplatypus, which you may find here: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-ad-hoc-wireless-network-support/
After doing everything above, your problem should be solved!
Enjoy.
.. now, I'm going back to look for a solution to my problem.

Its a good option, but my galaxy have gingerbread 2.3.5 and I cant root him. But thank you, hope you find a solution.

I know this is a little old but I am trying to get this to work..
I am able to get my Tmobile G2X to teether through Bluetooth with my Asus Transformer (3.2 OS) but cannot get my Tab to do the same.. It would be awesome if I could get to work because WIFI teethering kills my battery fast..

[Q] Wi-fi Direct Problem - Xperia TX

Hi guys,
I have been using Android OS for not much time now but just around past 2 years.
Prior to shifting to Xperia TX (the much-hyped Bond series phone), I had been a Samsung customer and had S II before.
What I have noted is that Xperia TX does have Wi-fi Direct feature but does not work as expected.
It was butter smooth for me to share files on S II through wifi Direct but that seems to not work on my Xperia.
I have tried all methods to use it but in vain. When I turn on the wifi Direct, it does connect to my S II but does not move ahead. In addition, there is no option on TX to share via Wifi Direct.
I am left to use third party apps to use normal Wifi hotspot feature.
Can anyone please help me with how to use wifi direct feature on Xperia TX?
(P.S. I know that Android beam does not help in Wifi Direct. It is specifically dedicated for NFC. Galaxy S II does not have NFC feature. Please help me in knowing how can I use just WIFI Direct for sharing files much has music and videos)
Thanks!!!

[Q] Enable Native Bluetooth Tethering

I have a family share plan w/ AT&T with tethering enabled; however, while WiFi and USB is available, bluetooth is not visible. I've been searching every where and haven't seen a solution for the AT&T Note 3 yet, but I did come across this thread for the S4 that uses a modified framework.res.apk file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47140596&postcount=1
From what I can tell from the script, couldn't this be ported to the AT&T Note 3 build?
Any thoughts?

I'm using PdaNet+ to BT tether internet to my Galaxy Gear. Gear uses PdaNet. I am running stock.
AT&T removed BT tethering, tried porting it over awhile ago but could never get it to work. Flash an Int'l ROM like X Note or wait for someone to actually mod it to work.
Edit: or follow the above and download an app that let's you tether through Bluetooth. They aren't going to be as battery friendly but a lot less of a hassle than flashing ROMs.
Thanks... I have been able to decompile and edit the framework-res.apk file on MJ5 to get the Bluetooth Tether option to show up and be able to be selected but the issue I am running into now is that it doesn't seem to broadcast the appropriate Bluetooth profiles. More to come.
We be great if you could get this to work!

...so I gave up for the time being and installed the AT&T port of XNote via SafeStrap because I couldn't find enough information on how to enable the missing BT stack. Will likely revisit at some point. Thanks!

GPS EPO assistance for s5830?

GPS EPO assistance for Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830?
Does anyone know if is there a way to implement this fast gps fix for sga?
It takes like 10 minutes, some times more yo fix my gps location on my sga with out a-gps (I can't have interet connection everywhere, I work as a truck driver and travel all europe, romming will take my salary if I want mobile internet.)
I had an other android device, not so popular, it's called NGM Dynamic Maxi, i had the same problem, but when I looked into settings I found this EPO option (Extended prediction orbit, it's one of Mediatek's innovative proprietary off-line server based A-GPS technology. It supports up to 30 days satellite orbit prediction, witch can be used to greatly enhance user experience by improving gps time to first fix (ttff)).
So I used this epo file on my other phone and once a month when i founded an free wifi connection I downloaded this smal file 300kb I think and allways got very fast gps fix 5-60sec, my sga takes 10minutes or more, that really isn't nice, i saw if o connect it to a network it gets it's connection in 15sec but i don't have internet all the time.
Please tell your oppinion if you know something about epo for sga. Thank you, and have a nice day dear reader.

I don't think there is any epo assistance for Galaxy Ace. But you can try the following guide to speed up the GPS lock. Here is the link,
[Trick] Speed Up Satelite Fix for GPS on Android
Hope I Helped
I've tried that before posting, it works only when I have internet connection by using A-GPS.
I don't have internet connection too often because I work as a truck driver and travel all over europe, the romming taxes ar so big that I would have to sell the truck to pay them, and it isn't even my truck.
If anyone knows any fast offline fix similar to epo, or a way to integrate epo in s5830, that would be great.

Actually you need the internet connection only once to download the A-GPS data. After that you can use it anytime while offline. You can also try the following guide too,

Hello world

Help Please (Tab A SM-T580)

I have a Sm-T580 I got from my dad because the Wifi and Bluetooth isn't working. I thought it was an easy fix and he bought a new one so I figured hey I have a new tablet. I'm between a techy and a newbie. I have had androids since the moment and have rooted, bricked and unbricked several phones in between and I now have the S8+. So I have tried downloading different firmware, I have rooted the tablet I have wiped the system os using TWRP and reinstalled another current os and now I am using the ultra lean rom and i can not get the wifi or bluetooth to turn on. Neither of them have an IP address or bluetooth address. I don't know what else to do. Can any one help?

Since wifi and Bluetooth both do not work, it seems to me as if the chip is roasted, cuz they both share the same chip. At least this was my experience with S4.
Big chance, that this is a hardware issue maybe from water damage.
Wasn't dropped in water that I know of but I have about exhausted all other options. Thx
