Yesterday I just deleted dalvik cache using root explorer. Did I lose anything?
another problem: when my fone is sleeping there are times it doesnt open. the lockscreen wont appear so i have to long press the open button to reboot or take off the battery. any solution?

I had that issue when i was still learning. You accidentally deleted something within the phones framework.
Wipe your phone and reflash a 3 part file ROM. If i were you go get the JVS or the JVT one. Also, delete the dalvik from CWM.

try to format cache and dalvic cache

my rom is jvr.
how to format dalvik cache?

actually even before i deleted dalvik cache, im having problems already with my fone

go to cwm recovery by holding vol up+home+power button.
goto advanced->wipe dalvik cache.

nothing will happen on my other apps if i do that?

try the answer on this.
this will be the best solution on your problem by flashing the a stock GB.

I agree with hackfinn, however softpinkishlips you need to be more detailed in your posts, is that a stock rom or custom rom, did you update via kies?

Best is to reflash since I don't have much information to salvage from your configuration.
If you're using Supersonic or a ROM that disables journaling, you'll get FCs if you encounter a power loss. That's normal. The solution is to reflash anyways.

There is nothing wrong with your phone. there is something wrong with your searching skills.
ALL rom's JVR, JVS have FC on the Phone.apk.
IF you'd be able to change your pampers by yourself, you'd use SEARCH feature to find it:
Simple, isn;t it? and flash

Someone has to teach me. I'm not technical when it comes to roms and flashing. I just do what I am told to do

1. Download correct version from above link.
2. Put it on your SD card
3. Reboot your phone to recovery mode
4. Install via option: install update from zip, navigating to the downloaded zip file.
5. Reboot
6. Check if helped and give feedback.

Hi spam,
Should I need to back up my apps?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Nope.
This is Phone App only, so you can make a backup of your messages and contacts, everything else should remain untouched.

Hi spam,
There are two files. Dunno which one is right for my fone

Phone app force closing

Hey guys, for the past few weeks my phone app always force closes when someone calls me. I figured out that I can press the call button on the phone, but that doesn't solve the no ringing. I'm currently running Fresh 2.3.3, pleaseeeee can someone help me?

First try flashing one of the kernels in either of these 2 posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705074
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750170
If that still doesn't solve your problem, reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik then reboot. If even that doesn't fix it, completely wipe the phone + dalvik then reinstall the ROM. Last case scenario, run the official Sprint 2.1 RUU then re-root.
Does flashing a kernal require anything different then just selecting it and flashing in the boot menu? I've never done it and I don't wanna brick the ohone or something...

before flashing anything, try and clear the data for the app... go to settings -> applications -> manage applications locate the dialer and clear the data.
if that doesn't get it try recovery mode and wipe.
if it still FC then try nandroid restore or flashing new rom / kernel
just my opinion. there are lots of people on here that know much more than i do, but if it were me this is the route that i would take.

[Q] I need a dev for this problem.. it's weird!

Hi, so there is this thing:
I have the OB, and the soft buttons/softkeys/hardware buttons on the bottom DON'T work after reflashing to stock. So i re-rooted my device, and the buttons only work with a CM7 rom! the only way to run CM10 now, is by going into AOKP settings and choosing Navbar...
Please help me! is this a hardware or a software problem?? (because the buttons DO work inside cm7 roms? still not 100%, but almost 8 out of 10 times?)
Please take a moment to help me
try a full wipe..den reflash!!

I did... Data, cache, format data, format system, format cache, wipe dalvik... everything, but still not working.
BTW, durin Dalvik cache wipe i get an error saying something like: sd/ext not fount, while it IS in there. read somewhere else that this could not be the problem. Or can it be??

So you would say:
1. go into CWM, wipe everything
2. go into B2CApp (right?)
3. do an "emergency mode update" (don't know what it is in english, while i'm running dutch B2Capp)
and then it SHOULD work? otherwise it's a hardware issue?
go to CWM wipe everything n reflash a new rom...if den toh problem persists den use the smart flash tool and flash a rooted rom..!!

Flash a patched V20S with CWM, start it and make a factory reset FROM HIDDEN MENU.
That should work.

[Q] Which Kernel to Update?

Hi,
I am using XXLSA-UNP right now. Can i use PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSC-XJB or will i have to use PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSC-XJB-v3.99...i know that only LS should matter but just making sure if XXLSC would work or not?

What does this mean.? Both are the same. Yes you can use lsc kernel on lsa rom as well.
will i again have to do factory reset and wipe cache and all...also when ever i try to move any app using TBP to external memory and after that when i restart my phone that app gets uninstalled and have to reinstall them...is there something that could be done to avoid this?
Changing kernel does not need any kind of wipe. Apps. Moved to sd removes its icon from the home screen. This was a bug in some ics versions, and it's in JB too. So this may be resolved in the official JB

so there is no fix till the time official JB is out? i mean someone might have tried to create a fix for this or not?
It only happens on apps that you force using tbp. The ones that give the option to be moved to sd in applications Works fine.
yes that is what happens, and i have another problem for which i do not want to create another thread, please help me with this...
i installed JB xxlsa to my frnds phone (no root), i installed PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSC-XJB...from pc odin and did factory reset and also reset system, data, cache and also clean cache and clean delvik cache...and now it is stuck on samsung logo with yellow triangle...i am able to go to recovery mode n download mode...in recovery mode it says "failed to mount exfat"...there is no external sd card...please tell me what needs to be done....

Can someone help me..answer me...here is the exact error code "failed to mount exfat/dev/block/mmcb1k1p1/sd card"...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Well if there is no (removable) extSdCard then it stands to reason that recovery will report an error when it looks for it. Yellow triangle will occur when flashing any custom kernel with PC Odin and can be removed with Triangle Away app.
JB leaks sometimes get stuck on reboot. Try installing a custom LSC version and use recovery to install zip from (non removable) internal SD card.

In your last post you said reset system, data, cache. Does that mean format? If that's th case there is no rom on the phone to boot. You need to install a custom rom using recovery or stock rom using the download mode.
I missed the "system" part this time.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
you guyz were late in responding and i realised it already that already that ROM is missing and flashed ROM again..thanks to all the members of this forum...you guyz help so many people and hats off to nokiamodeln91 i usually see him as the first one to respond to any thread...(no sarcasm, i mean it)

Unfortunatelly, process.media screwed my deal

Hi guys,
so I was trying to sell my SGS i9000 and I failed. Why? Because I kept getting 'Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped'. I tried everything I could find, clearing particular caches, wiping overall cache and dalvik, factory reset, even reflashed the ROM. Nothing has changed.
I believe it has something to do with the thing that I had accidentaly deleted 'media' folder (actually, cut it and pasted on the desktop, so I copied it back right away). Now the gallery doesn't work, the camera just as well and overall system can't boot every time. (If I press and hold the power button, it starts booting and gets stuck at Slim logo, but when I take the battery out after getting stuck, it boots just fine).
Are there any other solutions?
I'm on Slim Bean official build 7. Not sure which Sema kernel they've used, because I can't download or install anything as well.

I always format system before flashing, and yes, flashing stock firmware via odin helped, but I got bricked on the first try which scared the crap out of me.
