no problem. all i did was change the orientation of the animation so it was horizontal, then adjusted the height/width ratio to fit the screen. problem was the animation was designed for a phone screen so it loses some resolution when it gets resized to 1280 x 800.

white flashing border?
does anyone else have this?
there should not be one, all the image files are 960 x 600 and resized to 1280 x 800 through the desc.txt file. im not seeing it on my xoom when i reboot.

I am thinking he is confusing your version with the first one. Your version is fine for me.

It's not out, but a system dump has already been released here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=600190
the bootanimation is made of two series of png files, not a gif as we are used to... i attached it, maybe someone can throw it together as a gif and resize it, this way we could implement it as a bootscreen.
edit: upload does not work from here...
Upload to somewhere like 4shared.com or mediafire.com and then post the link here.
Cheers
heres two animations
http://www.mediafire.com/?yymzywzijb5
I resized it and applied it to my phone, but something went wrong, it's stuck in a crazy reboot where a messed up version of the animation starts off, then freezes, then starts over again

while you're at it, could you make them 320 pixels wide? i could throw that together in an update.zip later tonight.

I can re-size them in CS4 when I get home from work if you like. A quick question 1st though, why are they in landscape format?

well, probably someone at google thought it would look better that way...
but we can try to put them on the hero in portrait aswell, i am afraid that it might look ugly if the picture doesn't fill the screen either vertically or horizontally

same here, please try again. we need an animated gif, not a jpeg.
I had to install GIMP to do it as CS4 sucks for resizing animated gifs. Anyway, here you go, resized to 320w x 480h and rotated 90 degrees CW. There may be some quality loss due to the resize but I'm not sure if that can be helped.

doesn't work looks just wired, some patterns are there, but it is totally crapped up.
edit: also gave me a bootloop. gonna look into the properties of the gifs now...
That's not good
There must be more to it than simply resizing and rotating the original file.
here ya go
the problem was that most of the png files were indexed colors with a very small palette. i converted them to rgb and made a gif that works. i had to resize the image to make it fit, i did NOT stretch it (no need as the animation doesn't touch the two sides). came out kinda nice, just try it. apply as update.zip in recovery, or use which ever way you like to get the files into your phone as always no responsibility & do a nandroid backup first
download the bootscreen and apply as update.zip
if you want to go back to stock go here.
Thanks man, that's cool you figured it out.
I'm going to do a nandroid backup later anyway as I want to try a couple of themes so I'll give this a try too.
Cheers
good job guys. i love the nexus boot up. hope this works. i got a nandroid backup and trying it on cyanogen 4.2.8.1

I've tried one and work like charm (I tried 130 and 135 as well)
problem is ROM manager scale incorrectly even with 'compatibility mode' turned off
I already tried to search the forum but have no luck
is there a way how to overcome this?
thx

Yes, I did it several times but the problem still persist
edit:
I think this behaviour are not consistent. sometimes when I reboot it, it's back to normal, but when I reboot it again, It went wrong again
weird
EDIT:
I can confirm now that after killing 'whole' task using task manager (or similar app), the problem is (always) gone. still don't know the culprit though.
Excellent work here my friend. Cheers.
Great app... I'm running at 130.
May I know what is the default density of our Legend? Tried to Google before I flashed this but couldn't find any info...
Edit: I tried LCDDensity for root from market and it told me the default is 160. Change to 140 and it looks great
Maybe I'm totally noob, but what's the point of setting a LOWER LCD density if the default is 160?
Correct me if I'm wrong but the higher the density, more things can be added to the screen and it "seems" bigger.
I'll try also to see the difference
Later Edit: OK, I've checked now. Tried with 130 and a lot more info seems to fit on screen. I have some questions/issues though.
1. What 110, 120...130...160 means? For sure not DPI as was my initial understanding. Usually, the higher the DPI setting, more screen space is available. And in this case I got better screen with a lower number. Could be the value of the setting then? And lowering it it'll give you in fact a higher DPI setting? Don't miss understood me, I just want to understand some of the things not playing with them like a robot.
2. Some widgets are scaled incorrectly (Sense Analog Small Black is one of them for ex). Any way to overcome this or is by widget design and I should find a better one?
Found a fix for 2...set the columns in ADW at 5 instead of 4. Now the widget is drawn correctly and have an extra space remaining

When your adding a widget you'll have the option to set the size, set the width to 5 and you're widgets you want full width can be. I had to do this with my clock/weather widget.
I set it to 140 and it looks awesome! To bad that it shrinks the keyboard too..
it doesn't work for me on BlaYo rom ... does absolutely nothing ... any ideas?

[Solved] Can someone edit this icon for me?

I have this icon I made in paint.
A .png icon that I used to replace the main widget icon for SMS Unread Count.
I don't know how to make the image all "background-less" you know?
I'll attach the icon. Can someone take away the black inside it, so it's only the white outlined icon that can be layered over any background.
I dunno how to explain that kind of image, but I think you know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, thanks.
how about I just make one for you,
what size does it need to be? (overall pixel dimensions)

It is just blank black screen after boot logo till lock screen shows up

Well...i decided the problem is in desc.txt. So i've changed resolution values and it worked. But was stretched and ugly. So using batch + actions in PS i've changed canvas size of all images to 1080x1920. It's a little bit small for this display but will maximize it when have enough time for tests. I'll upload it as attachment for those who want to try it
