this is not my work , so I will only share the link
but I hope some great dev will take a look @ it and see what e can do with it
maybe by increasing the system partition we can have enough space to dualboot 2 roms?
http://android.modaco.com/topic/347...-partitions/page__gopid__1821791#entry1821791
fine, working great !
only system partition didn´t change for me, but i set same value as for cache ... strange...
after NVFlash, i directly restored my CM backup. (formatted all partiotions first ...)
included cwm-5.0.2.6 recovery in NVFlash, worked like a charm. no need for SuperOneClick, just restore backup. Baseband 0823 was kept !
thanks for sharing.
Hurmm.. might miss some responses, will it work on stock mod? and can i mod it so that extsd become the main sdcard?

Making the ext SD the main SD card is a kernal change I think

i´m using cm ...
it will work on ANY ROM, with NVFlash you flash orig. stock Froyo ROM to your phone, just with (your) changed partition sizes ...
when you are now flashing a new ROM from recovery, it will change your system, but will keep partition sizes ...
but as i posted before, the first restore of my cm backup worked fine, but system size wasn´t increased ( i set same values for system & cache partition) ... the next reflash of CM .170 today corrected this ... dunno why, perhaps cwm backup includes partitionsize of system, but not for data, cache, etc ??
but as mankian tested, don´t increase /data to more than 1,75 GB, or it will break CWM ...
Here is pre-build Partitons File & quick Guide in my MediaFireShareFolder :
Your Partitions will change to the following ->
System : 0.50 GB
Cache : 1,0 GB
Recovery : 50 MB
Data : 1.75 GB
in this folder is everthing you need :

just boot.img :i think : NO
boot.img is just kernel, system.img is complete ROM ...
to make it work on first flash, you also need system.img of your v20e ROM.
but you can put your prefered recovery in folder (rename to recovery.img first)
but no problem, just run NVFlash and afterwards restore your backup in CWM Recovery...
I had a look in my CWM backup, but system backup is noth stored as .img, but as "system.ext4.tar" ... so you can´t directly replace it with the system.img in NV Flash ...
just follow my quick guide, works fine !
Just afraid that might total brick my o2x.. need assurance if something goes wrong, i can unbrick using smartflash..

as posted in my guide, i tried too high value for system (0,75 + 1,0 GB) ...
phone did boot up, but couldn´t mount internal storage... (the rest of the memory)
a simple reflash with NVFlash with lower values (system : 0,5 GB) solved it ...
i posted prebuild file with stable values in my guide.
i´m pretty sure a reflash with standard "android_fastboot_emmc_full.cfg" file will get your phone back to normal if anything is not working right...
values that seem to be the max :
system : 0,5 GB
data : 1,75 GB
this is my actual configuration - my prebuild file (everything working fine, recovery, mount internal storage ...)
Ok.. is it possible to make /data max at 8GB? and make extsd as primary sd? This is what im trying to accomplish act..

Thanks to Mike919 we now have a clockwork recovery backup that you can recover to your phone.
What does this give me? well it gives you a way to restore your phone to its default state but it has already been rooted and deodexed.
If you dont know what root or deodexed are then please search around the forums. I'm sorry but i simply dont have the time to answer a thousand questions.
How do i use this?
Well it's very simple.
Unzip the file
On your sdcard make a folder in sdcard\clockworkmod\backup with todays date on it like \sdcard\clockworkmod\backup\2010-08-23.23.30.41
Extract the contents of This File into that folder. There should be 5 files inside when you are done.
Install Koush's Clockwork recovery (if you haven't already)
Boot into Koush's recovery
Choose restore, then navigate to the folder you created earlier
Choose restore. Then follow the instructions on the screen.
When you reboot you will have a totally clean system, with Froyo 2.2, already rooted. and fully deodexed.
I can this tell you that this does work. I have done it myself. I also know of one other person that has done it with no problems.
Please grab the file while you can, who knows how long this will stay up.
oh, also it has a black bar with transparency. Other versions will follow i'm sure you can always replace your framework-res.apk and services.jar if you don't like it.
again search alldroid if you need help with this.

thanks...so it retains all our stuff? aight...gonna try this out in a bit. been having problems with nandroid backup on froyo. didn't wanna go to sbf flash to do this again. i'm hoping this will fix this problem.
NO! It WILL install a fresh froyo build. This will probably come late to you though...
ok thanks...hmm..now i'm debating. you think this will fix my nandroid backup problem?

Can anyone confirm if this will work or not? So far we've gotten two conflicting answers.
So since I was born yesterday.....
What's the difference between this and the root/2.2 leak I did the other day?. Is this blur free in all ways? Cause that's the only reason I would wipe and go through all those proper steps is to be 100% blur free.

yes, i can confirm. works like a charm.
I was trying to mount the memory card by using the usb mass storage mode in a rescue disk but the mobile restarted itself a couple of times.. Later on I tried to mount the usb from cwm5 but was unsuccessful. In between all this, I do not know what happened (improper mounting/unmounting?) my device is now not booting into the OS.
Tried reinserting the battery.. no difference. Tried removing the memory card, stuck on "android" logo.
When I restart the mobile, it goes till the end of the bootscreen "Entering system" but then it reverts back to "cm7" boot screen and is stuck there.
My memory card is ok since i tried to mount it using cwm5 in windows and its working fine.
Can anyone let me know any quick solution to this as I need it working urgently?

I am thinking maybe some broken application is causing this.. any way to find out for sure?

I already did install a new rom last night! But i still need data from previous rom... like sms and whatsapp and other apps.. so I have made a nandroid backup just in case.
Can anyone help me in solving it or recovering the data from the nandriod atleast? Tried appextractor but it wasn't able to restore sms and didn't show whatsapp only! TB didn't help too. I guess its due too d2sd script due to which these apps are not able to locate the data. Any other app which might work?

Maybe opening the nandroid backup manually with 7zip and such. Look up inside your data and system .img files. Use the files inside to create a flashable zip with the data from the apps you most desperatly need. done by using a flashable zip for a rom, deleting everythin inside it except for META-INF, and looking at the updater-script file to make mount /data and flash to /data instead of flashing to /system, place the folder with the data you need inside the zip.

I am getting what you are trying to say but seems like I don't need it. I was able to restore the sd-ext partition which had all the data.. seems like sms file is corrupt? But anyhow, I think most of the data is there now, but no apps! I can see the ".asec" files in ".android_secure" backup but have no idea how to make apk out of these? Any though how nandriod is able to do that or any script for that?

yup, backup, then flash new rom, and then flash data partition from backup back.
I dont know if the OP solved the problem but you guys are wrong, settings are stored in data.. and data/data/com.android.providers.settings/database.. (something like that) so reflashing or restoring data after flashing will not do anything...
follow this.. it will help you see your screen.. and when you find the brightness slider just pull it up! that simple!..

then you can't say that we are all wrong.
it's just easier to reflash rom and then restore data partition
(look at inside recovery created data.img , then you will see what i mean.)
also , yes, IF it doesn't help, then you have to restore data manually ....copy-paste from recovery created data.img , just copy what u need, apps and so ,not anything else , like settings or etc.)

I'll definetly try this ROM when I got bored with cm10
Miui 2.8.3 was my favorite ROM once up on a time. Still have a hope of getting JB based miui.
@GUNDUL46, @tanuj : did you guys got hands on miui JB...?
guys beware of while creating SD partition from CMW.... take backup before proceeding further as it make your SD card blank.... I lost everything on my mobile SD card .... now trying to recover it .................
be careful to partition your SD.
only use good quality of SD card.
with partition SD you have 3 parts.
1. mmcblk1p1 = fat32 normal external memory
2. mmcblk1p2 = ext4 to change internal memory on /data.
3. mmcblk1p3 = linux swap for swap ram
recommended apps swapper2 or mounts2sd.
if you use swapper2 please change swap partition to /dev/block/mmcblk1p3
only if you have partitioned SD card.

Hi gundul46 I've just flash my friend phone (Axioo Vigo-FIH FBO) using SUTLR to ANDRO-ID-RC3 Rom, and then trying to instal this MIUIv4-2.8.3 rom from Recovery but it's always gave me error which says
E:Can't open /sdcard/MIUI_v4_2.8.3.zip (bad)
Installation aborted.
and when I try to open the zip file from PC it says that the zip file is corrupted
I've try to redownload the ROM but stil get the same result
thanks
The zip you have downloaded is not the good one.
Try redownloading it.
tried this rom~
okay i was hoping for a fix on recording with miui ics
i knew i had a separate app for taking pics (camera ics) and and an app for for recording vids (stock camera pulled from nexus s)
but i was counting more on unifying the two apps together...
so i thought i'd tried this one....
and now some notes regarding this rom
i flashed the 4.2 camera app into this rom and camera, recording and panorama works... sphere fcs... so that's something good
but then a bummer...
theme manager fcs.......
so i replaced the apk with a different one: the one pulled from miui 2.7.20 from comdevx's post
okay now i can apply themes and apply wallpapers...
the only glitch is that Settings > Sound: you get 4 choices for your changing your tones: ringtones, notifications, sms received, sms sent
ringtones took me to the select ringtone activity in themes. and notifications to notifications.....
BUT sms received and sent took me to NOTIFICATIONS... so you can't change those two (the default is FadeIn.ogg which i hate the most)
i'm guessing.... wrong intent?
so i see two workarounds:
1. edit the build.prop, then data-wipe your phone
2. push the specific .ogg file into /data/system/ringtones, though you have to name the file correctly (which idk) also wondering if that would screw your settings or brick your phone
haven't tried those two yet. the best hope is to find a good thememanager.apk that won't screw up when i open it and allow me to edit sms tones.
that's all i should say

Hi, I also tried to do the same, although in an Ace-i (note the "i"), CWM accepted the file but it never showed a "success" or something, actually it is left in the step ui_print("4ext: disable_scrn_update"); in the updater-script and that's it.... no more advance, I left it like that overnight to see if I got any joy but, no joy so I forced restart (vol-up+power), and when I opened up terminal and executed df -h, voilá, it did run, but I didn't like the fact that the script didn't finish... makes me feel like I missed something
I tried it on Cyanogenmod 7.2RC4 by Bieltv.3 and with which does have init.d support and my sd-ext is of 2GB, I also did create a swap (512 mb I think but not sure at all)
