Flash an old Baseband plus the stock ROM. Then launch official LG update tool, it will detect that an update of Baseband is necessary, and after all the process you'll have a brand LG phone with no trace of rooting and previous ROM.

Hi,
I would just like to ask if it is possible to flash from a newer firmware back to an older one via Odin?
For example: My phone is on official JVS, can I downgrade it back to JVR/JVQ?
Is it possible to flash back from JVR to JVQ? I was thinking because they use the same CSC.
Thanks!
Yes u can downgrade....find firmware at www.samfirmware.com and u can flash any firmware any time.

Follow this and make sure repartition is checked in Odin so you can wipe the phone before installing the fw.
But ya you can go from Froyo to GB and back whenever you want on the SGS...

Thanks for the replies. Anyone else can confirm that downgrading official firmwares is possible? Just want to make 100% sure before I do.
Thanks in advance.

I've upgraded and downgraded ROMs, custom and stock, using clockworkmod recovery.
The first root I did on my phone I used Odin, but the flash came with clockworkmod built in, so never needed to use Odin again.
I feel much more at ease using the recovery mode than through Odin for many reasons, but that's just my opinion, I'm sure it works fine if you follow all the steps.

If your new firmware is Stock firmware(released by samsung), you can flash with Odin(dont select reset partition in odin)
OR you can connect to Kies n update it.
OR Go to setting - about phone - software update, check if update available OTA, if available, you will get notice n update from there(easiest n fastest way)
Hello.
One week ago,I was forced to flash custom ROM,cause something goes wrong and I didn't have backup. However,I want back the stock ROM. Where can I download it? I don't want to install Kies to my laptop, because normally I don't need it. I am able to flash the ROM using CWM.

I want Indian official stock Rom as zip

With cwm installed, you will brick your rom again.
Stock firmware doesn't contain cwm

so you make it.
it is easy.
lol
after seeing ur reply, I am afraid and confused..
Why my phone will be bricked ?
Presently, I am using Zeus 6.39 ROM, I want to smartflash Indian Stock Gingerbread to get official ICS from there.....I think it is safe..
You say that if we flash stock firmware as zip , phone will brick ?
plz tell briefly

Oh god why these people don't understand my question.?
Once again clearly telling ..I want flashable zip of Indian official firmware, non-rooted...., not .bin files
I mean flashing the zip from CWM, not with smartflash tool
I think it is impossible...
Because you need root to have cwm, and when you flash lg official rom it will overwrite cwm (effectively delete cwm)...

buddy, if you want to "flash", then you will need CWM. for that, u need root. :silly: the question, in itself, is a bit puny and asinine
that's why, "we", the people have problem in deciphering the meaning of your question
correct me if i am worng.
regards,
achyut.

Nobody wants official rom as CMW zip. What's use of that if u still rooted u can't claim ur warranty to LG.

Now I have cwm, to flash zip
After flashing I don't need root or cwm
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
If I had time, I might flash with sft an Indian Firm and make with cwm an backup.
But I think it will brick your phone through the official update, or how you uninstall cwm?
I prefer to wait for a finished custom cwm zip.
I still dont get, why you dont flash it with smartflash What's so hard about it? And after, it will definitly be unrooted.
If we flash stock official, then no need to unroot, as it is not rooted

Just use SmartFlash.
Its better than what your trying to do.
There isn't a stock zip file because its useless and much easier to use SmartFlash.

Its very easy.. wat u have u to do is download the smart flash tool, lg drivers and and a official froyo firmware... now flash ur phone and use latest gingerbreak to root.. install superuser after that...
I also just rooted with same method.. i was stuck on v20b and found the other methods risky.. trust me this is fairly easy..

Hi guys, my friend has an OB and wants to upgrade to ICS, i've looked on the web and i've seen flashing with KDZ and others, can u link me or tell me how to flash the official firmware. Also if possible, can u give feedback on how smooth it works. Thnx. I personally own a samsung phone so im more familiar with ODIN. Are there any chances of bricking the OB if done the correct procedure? Thnx again.

No its stock gb rom :< he didnt want to root, he's all the offcial type lol unlike meh.
I think the official ics rom gives massive battery drain that's why we choose to install custom ics rom instead try browsing the general forum for the step by step guide of flashing of the ofc rom thru sft, hope i helped
