This rom was not created or even touched by my, this is more of a guide to show people how they can currently use Cyanogen Mod on their current LG phones!
The soul purpose of this thread is to let everyone know that there are other choices out there for the Thrill.
This thread will also be updated when 7.1 for the Optimus 3D comes out.
This rom is currently running Gingerbread and it is rumored to be fully released to the Optimus 3D/Thrill within the next week, but after being released and now we need to learn how to use some features on our Thrill. So first, here's the rom.
Code:
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

Happy? Good.
This thread will be updated when 7.1 comes out for the Optimus 3D officially.
Music skipping when the screen is turned off?
Try turning the music headset icon off, it has worked on other devices and could work on yours as well.

Never mind.. Solved it.. Just install Google services in the CM package.

I think it will be really tough
setting up 3d must have a supporting kernel
thats why we dont have 3d and hdmi yet..
if you wanna improve camera quality. there is a thread right in this forum

Like stated in the thread, Cyanogen is coming out with a rom for this within the next two weeks that will fix all current issues including 3D. It will be released on the Optimus 3D and then we will use it with MMS fixed with APN Manager and 4G, hopefully 4G will be fixed in an easier and more stable way. Which it probably will be.

Thank you so much.
I had tried to extract kernel from stock and port it with cm, but it doesn't work (well just give it a shot as I don't know anything about dev a custom rom)
Cheers! Can't wait

Don't get too ahead of yourself. Cyanogen only stated that the o3d version should be 'stable' enough for atleast an RC. 3d and HDMI working are not necessarily part of being a stable RC release. It would be nice but we'll have to wait and see.

By the way the audio stutter can be fixed 100% if you navigate into Cyanogen settings from the settings window and set your cpu's governor to performance instead of hotplug. Or you can just optimize hotplug so it never lowers past 300MHZ. Which causes the problem in the first place. ;D

Can you please restate you question a little bit more clear?
If you want to flash this rom you must download it and then boot into CWM.
Do a factory reset, wipe your dalvik cache, and, maybe you battery stats, and then install CM7/this rom.
That what i thought, did that and it work. Just checking my captivate was different oh had to install Google apps zip to get market working, thanks for the help and nice rom. hope the official one is out soon phone is fast with this rom with some bugs LOL.

I present to you Thrill Seeker 2 Gingerbread v20p.
I took a little bit different approach than I did with the original Thrill Seeker rom. I felt that LG did a very good job with gingerbread and so I built this rom around the LG software on the phone (just rethemed) rather than using 3rd party apps. Battery life has been amazing for me and the phone really flies.
Prerequisites
This is based on the ATT V20p firmware. So you will NEED to upgrade to that first or this wont work.
Starting with next update I will make update packages available along with full rom downloads. This will make for much smaller packages to flash when updating from one version to the next. I lost a lot of my work when updating my system so keeping track of all the changes between 2.0 and 2.1 was impossible.
Also, Im adding in another download link (dev-host) for those that cant access 4shared (its uploading as im typing this). If anybody still cant download from either of those sites let me know.
Heres a quick changelog to get things rolling:
2.1:
Added in Tekunas OC Modules (Original Thread)
Added working wifi tether app (no client needed. Just turn on and connect)
Ability to Enable 2g only and choose network mode in Network Settings.
Added percent to battery icon (need to fix the charging icons)
Fixed 3d button taking pics in camera (this may have had side affects though. I think it messed with some other defaults)
Minor theme updates (lockscreen widgets are NOT permanent. Forgot to fix them before i started uploading)
Reverted to Gingerbread music player. This fixed widget issues.
Enabled force of gpu rendering.
Probably some more stuff I forgot to mention...
2.0:
Fully De-odexed.
Rom is Rooted with latest SU installed.
Completely rethemed every aspect of the rom. Gave a very ICS vibe.
Made a few tweaks for performance, useability, and battery savings (however modest). Still waiting on LG to release kernel source code.
Removed all the ATT bloat (except contacts sync. that has to stay)
Added in a File Manager, Titanium Backup, and DSP Manager (equalizer)
Roboto Font
Update to latest Flash Player and Google Apps.
ICS Music Player (feedback on this one. Not sure I like it better than GB version)
Removed apps like Facebook, Twitter, etc because they get updated frequently in the market and it didnt make sense to have them in your /system folder as well as you /data folder.
Still have more to come but I wanted to get this little bit out to you guys since there was a lack of options at the moment. Ill roll out minor releases as I add/fix things.
Issues:
2.1: 4G possibly not working due to flex.xml change.
Battery charge icons distorted.
2.0I havent found any functionality bugs as of yet but please dont hesitate to point them out. There a few theming inconsistencies ive noticed, so please point these out as well. I want this rom to look as good as it performs.
Also, if there are features you want please suggest them. Doesnt mean they'll get implemented, but it helps if I know what you guys want. Ill try to include what I think fits with the rom.
Installation:
This rom is flashable via CWM recovery.
On first install I recommend a full data wipe. At the very least please wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache (advanced menu of recovery) before flashing. If you dont follow this step then please DO NOT POST ANY BUGS. Reflash with the wipes first. If the file wont flash please verify the md5 sum with the one listed below the download link. (There are many programs to do this on your computer and phone)
DOWNLOAD:

Removed_Apps/Widgets (does NOT include the ATT crap or the market apps like Maps, Books, etc)
Mirror: Mirror Site dev-host
DO NOT FLASH THIS ZIP! extract it first. inside you can choose which apps to remove and there are instructions for creating an update.zip included.
ENJOY!

Just installed this at work. Seems pretty good so far. No qualms as of yet.
2 things I would change; get rid of the music controls on the notification menu. The icons you use are already bigger than normal. Larger icons + music controller is just too much (can't get rid of it).
How the flip do i change my home page in the browser? I tried to "set home page" as well as manually typing it in. If my browser goes to that damn yahoo site again I'm going to have to install firefox (which i dont like on my phone)
Kudos so far

Thanks for the heads up!
For the people asking, you have to be on V20p. So just follow the kde methods to flash to V20p. But its worth it. V20p is extremely stable and battery life is better than any euro bb I tried. (And thats just stock). Plus all Thrill rom's from this point on will most likely be built on V20p.

The icons dont take up any more space than the old ones. They just appear to because the images are larger with no background. You can close the music control by clicking the 'x'. I will however put a divider line between the two. It looks like one massive section right now. I think a divider would clean it up.
As for the browser lol I have no idea. Its the stock browser and I kept it on the rom but I don't use it. I use Firefox as well.

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a usefull addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

Launcher Settings: margins: SMALL (If youre using Apex / Nova), show permanent searchbar: YES, Grid: 5x4, resize all widgets: YES, Wallpaper scrolling: OFF
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

Removed AROMA installer, now using CM kernel, you can install any AOSP kernel
Improvements on OTA app, scheduled checkups
Improvements on Backup app, now it automatically launches on startup after you install a newer (or older) version
Hybrid speedup, less lag, considerably faster list scrolling when pad/pal is in action
Keyboard scaling, an androids first
PAD/PAL bugfixes for apps that still crop images in lower DPIs
Settings revamp, speed preferences to switch between modes without having to set up anything, less clutter
Trebuchet extras: 3x4 widgets, speed dial menu button, ... and some weird rocket button which im sure will be very useful to most of you
Pad.prop revamp, new preferences that should pretty much nail it. I'm sorry but this trashes your old settings again, do not attempt to restore them unless you do it in a text editor
Removed soft rendering
Fixed calls
Booted for the Inc
How often will this ROM be updated?
I will stay updated with the CM9 nightlies as well as the Paranoid Android releases. This means that if there is a significant update to the CM9 nightlies I will rebase the ROM so that it is current. If there is also an update to PA then I will incorporate those fixes AND rebase the ROM to the CM9 nightly.
Something went wrong! Can you help me?
I'd love to help you, but I need a little more information about your issue. You should provide us with information regarding what your issue causes and what you did before the issue started. However, before asking me and the community, ask yourself two simple questions:
Can I reproduce the error?
Have I looked for a solution?
If you answered "yes" to both of these questions and came up empty handed, then post it in the thread and it will be addressed.
Can you add *this* to the ROM?
Although we are not obligated to add anything and everything to the ROM, we will do our best to supply your desires and live up to your expectations. Do not mistake this for a guarantee. We would like to do everything, but we may not be able to.
I'm experiencing some force closes, what gives?
Boot into recovery and fix permissions. Then reboot.
I love this ROM, can you do more projects like this?
Yes, I can do more porting projects. If you find any other AOSP ICS ROMs that you want ported, let me know.
My battery life sucks. What gives?
HWA (hardware acceleration) is sucking the battery life out of the ROM.
Where can I go for information about the latest updates?
You can follow me on Twitter
Hell yeah can't wait to check this out!

Yeah. It's a CM9 based ROM that allows you to switch between phone and tablet mode which gives you the opportunity to use tablet apps and view apps as how a tablet would display them. It also gives you the possibility of adding customizable onscreen buttons like the GNex. And a lot more...
Hmm.. sounds interesting.

Hmm that's pretty interesting. I'll look into it and maybe add it as a feature in a future release.

For those of you who are experiencing issues with the phone, boot into recovery and fix permissions. That should work.

Great, looking forward to it.
Also just so everyone knows, this is beyond dpi.. you can manage a super small sleek look while your apps can be set at different dpi sizes.
You won't find this in the market my friends, this is the real deal.
On a side note.. is there a good working kernel? Flashed Invisibleks kernel and its draining fast.
Edit: looks like jelly bean is all the Rage right now, almost every front topic is saying jelly bean.
Curious how well it will work on our phone, I've read it included various tweaks to certain parts of ICS.

What is ChameleonOS?
"Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button," (http://www.chameleonos.org).

1.) download ROM and gapps and put them on your SD (internal or external)
2.) boot into recovery (TWRP it's better)
3.) wipe data, cache and dalvik
4.) flash ROM and gapps
5.) reboot and let it sit for 5-10 min
6.) enjoy!
7.) I am hearing great things about NOS so, If you want to use it go HERE:
8.) Camcory's latest kernel (included here) has OC, set to default ondemand 1.4 ghz. If you don't like this, tap the build number 7 times in settings>about phone. This will enable developer settings,so now you have Performance mode, where you can change the clock speed.

This is one sweet looking ROM. Cosmetically it has them all beat. Also note the OC kernel has new governors, "adaptive" and "hyper". Boot time is very fast. Overall performance I'll know better later on after I try a few things. Nice work here Apant. Hope you get your "Team Insomnia" banner soon!
Newer Gapps here if anybody wants them:

Question did anyone figure out how to enable messaging bubbles can't find it in the settings. Also every time I go into widgets it let view the first 3 pages then the launcher stops is this just me or can anyone confirm this? I wiped everything before installing twice fixed permissions fixed a lot of fc after wiping and installing the second time.
Is this what you mean by text bubble? Once again I'm not sure why yours force closes, but this project is very early only version 0.6 so I'm sure it will improve and right now my computer is occupied but when I try to build for the my touch 4g I'll get an update. OK after a normal days use, have to say while I love the ROM's interface it's not near as fast as Baked. A lot of my apps were slow to respond and I got a lot of "... isn't responding" while using them. I tried using different governor's with the CPU, and no other tweaks besides NOS were used. Just like I did with Baked. I don't know if this has anything to do with the kernel, the NOS script, the ROM or all three.
Anyway each person may have a different experience depending on that they use and so forth. Still a nice ROM. BTW another positive I got was battery life seemed slightly better while the screen was on & apps were used. Can't confirm for sure as I didn't compare everything.
As you say, theApant, it's early days for this ROM, and I like it! I was wondering if anybody else has tried swapsd with this ROM. It's not that it doesn't work, or I can't access one of the SD cards. I get a ' system ui has stopped ' error every other reboot, and freezes and one random reboot. All problems disappear when not using swapsd.
It's no big deal, I use NFS most wanted for testing ROMs, which requires using swapsd. I have slim and baked nandroids if I need to game. Just wondering if anyone else had similar issues.

So far the ROM is pretty smooth and data is pretty nice no data drops .the only bug I found was that the music player works but it doesn't continues playing the the album it says that its playing but no sound .I have to manually select and play the song to play...oh and I am using headphones. But overall its pretty good so as battery

Good job guys! I really much like the smoothness and stability. But I realized two things that are in my interest.
I own the XT925.
1.) I noticed that with every slim build my phone never connects to 4G network. This was available with the vendor rom. I checked the settings and they are correct (network mode: LTE/GSM/WCDMA and Only 2G is diabled).
2.) The rom isn't build with bluetooth LE (low evergy). Is there reason for this?
thanks in advance.
I found another bug, auto rotate doesn't work . not even on nova laucher or apps

So I take it that the Stable Preview 1 release is not ready yet? WIP means work in progress? I'm glad they're fixing the volume issues, it's been driving me crazy. I'm excited that this build is going final so quickly. Great job devs!

Yes, i can confirm this bug.
Edit. Already tried to enable and disable Airplane Mode, and reboot, but doesn't work.
Edit. Today, out from nowhere, the signal bars it's strangely working. But seems i can't connect to Play Store. I guess it's going on a problem actually in failed connections to Google Services, because i can't neither login to my account in browser as well.
Try to remove Google account and add again... Or maybe reflash gapps. Which gapps did you flash?
I have been on the latest slimrom official release for 1 day now.
So far no problems what so ever. Best rom i have tried so far! Much better than stock and (at least so far) just as stabile.

I'm using the gapps from SlimRom site, the AIO version. Is this one that you flashed?
Now, actually, i guess the problem disappeared. I connected to Google Play this morning and everything looks normal, but i feel something is wrong with the signal, idk.
I just tried loading YouTube and it force closed. After that the play store did the same thing and I had to reset the phone. After a reboot it is working fine again.

Yup, I also use AIO. I don't it matter but I have only installed a few apps via AIO because I prefer to have them from playstore (non-system apps). As non-system apps I can easier greenify them.
If something seems wrong with the signal maybe you can try to play with *#*#4636#*#* in phoneapp. Here you can try different network settings (e.g. mine is set at WCDMA only). This should not be necessary though but cannot hurt and easy to change back.
I an stille very impressed by the SLimROM build 1! I was also impressed by the betas but they sometimes stuttered for 1-2 sek this problem is gone now rendering slimrom pretty much the perfect ROM for my use.

About the Rom:
You may be asking yourself, "What the hell is IOAP". Well, its simple really so I will keep it short and sweet. IOAP is built from source. Almost similar to AOSP. Lots of features.
Features:
Android 4.4 Kitkat
Halo
OmniGear
DarkUI
Listview Animations
Active Display
Lockscreen Notifications
System Animation customization
and more!
Sources:

Screenshots:
Installation Instructions:
This has been tested using CWM, it should also work with Philz or TWRP. If you try it on those please let me know how it goes!
Factory reset/wipe data 3 times. (this helps with random reboots)
Wipe system 3 times. (this helps with random reboots)
Install ROM,
Install Gapps.
Reboot device.
I suggest letting the device sit for 5 or 10 minutes at the welcome screen before diving right in, up to you.
Known Bugs:
If the setup wizard crashes and prevents any further action, reboot and as soon as it comes up again tap the 4 corners of the screen, upper left, upper right, lower right, lower left BEFORE the crash. It won't work after. Alternately remove the setup apk from your GApps, or, if using TWRP, remove it in Advanced>file manager, or via ADB.
MMS may not send, oddly removing Google Play Movies may correct this, bizarre, I know.
SMS not sending may occur if there is data being restored for them, attempt without restoring apps/data and see if SMS works again.
SlimPIE: It can be enabled and used, however settings for it crash, at this point it's only usable as it is by default, left side of the screen.

Notes:
I'm a very easy going guy, I don't care if there is off topic in my threads. Those who may know me from the Droid DNA on XDA can attest to this. All I ask is it's kept civil, flaming or arguing can be taken to PM. If you want to report a bug, please at least try to do a little trouble shooting, or at least list very detailed steps to recreate the bug for squashing.
I don't plan to do nightly builds, I'm leaning more to a weekly build kind of setup at this time.
Enjoy!

Call ehco, speaker volume, and sod's, are mostly KERNEL related, also they vary from one persons useage to another.
Example being people that restore apps and data. Restoring game data can cause sod's, again not ROM related.
Best thing to do is make a backup and flash it. If the kernel is giving you issues, flash a custom kernel.

I flashed clean after wiping 4 times. In 6 days I haven't had a single reboot or freeze/SoD. I also have my device set to pocket mode to wake/sleep in and out of my pocket, this may help. I also don't use art and use the interactive governor. Any or none of that may help. I also didn't restore with TiBu.
When issues arise I always go 100% clean, I had SoD and reboots constantly on 4.4 AOSP ROMs, so much I had to go stock, but after wiping 3 or 4 times on data/cache/system and not running art or restoring anything it hasn't returned. Normally I'd reboot or SoD at least twice a day.
I haven't heard complaints of call echo, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen, just hasn't been mentioned to me, so if it exists its not that bad.
In call audio and general volume is lower then stock, yes, I've seen that on every device I've ever owned for some reason, AOSP is just lower I guess. Has been since the OG evo and CM7 when I started through to now.
If anyone does have issues with sound level you can use viper for android and it will improve as well as if not better than using the paid 123faux sound app.
Echo on the vs980 is very rare. Its usually on the d800's
Although it seems like the vs980 has the most issues with sod's

Just rename it, for some reason certain browsers download it as a php file, the stock browser and chrome do, but dolphin doesn't.
Awesome reference, that was my favorite movie when I was a kid.
So if I need my app data restored should I just restore app from tibu and then per app data?

Its up to you if you restore apps and data, I'm suggesting restoring that data can and does cause some of the issues users have with their device and AOSP ROMs. If you don't need to restore data, then don't, I mean do you really need to restore data for Chrome when Google syncs it for you? Or gmail? Some apps I can see needing data restored for since it isn't synced up, games or whatever else, but just restoring each app and its data blindly may be a reason some users suffer issues other users may not.
I had issues, I chose to go completely clean and not restore a single thing and I have no more occurrences of those issues, you may or may not. It takes time to track down what's causing problems but starting clean is the best way.
Sometimes sitting and spending a weekend restoring data on minimally needed apps and seeing how it does for a day or two is the best way if clean isn't possible for whatever reason, game saves, emails or texts, whatever. Other apps that are easy to setup don't really need restored, like you cant take a,few seconds to login to Facebook and instead gamble on restoring its data which still takes a few seconds to restore? Its easier, sure, but its not always reliable.
Its always up to the user, but I always suggest flashing 100% clean like in the OP and seeing how it does for you, if you want to restore apps and data instead then I can't really help. I laid out the directions for the best possible ROM experience from my experience running it personally for a week, take it or do as you wish, its your device and time  just remember maybe running it clean is the more reliable way.
Any idea where the lock screen slider shortcuts are?
