all bionic themes work on any deodexed rom on d3 - Motorola Droid 3

Just giving the heads up....i tested all the current themes for the bionic on my d3. They all work fine, as long as you are deodexed.

Have you tried the BigDX Bionic theme?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254657
It has peaked my interest but I'm skepticle if there are any compatibility issues, although it was stated deodexing wasn't necessary.

bigDX
I got the bigDX theme to boot finally. So far everything seems to be working. I flashed it over steeldroid without wiping data. Not sure why but wiping data before or after applying this theme makes me bootloop. Well worth all the trouble though!

I am not an expert by any means, but I don't think you're supposed to wipe data when installing ANY theme.
Themes need a rom to go OVER, if you wipe data before...you leave nothing for the theme to be applied to...

i tried flashing the ics one off here over monster but when i booted up i got force closes. My steps were
1. Wipe system data and cache, wipe mount system
2. Apply monster zip
3. Boot to check if all is good
4. Shut down and apply the ics theme
5. Boot up and it brought me to the accounts page with force closes. Am i missing an important step somewhere?

[MOD][KA7]AOSP Lockscreen[Devs4Android][01/22/2011]

This is the AOSP lockscreen for the newest KA7 leak that Krylon360 & Chainfire found. I think Whitehawkx was going to do this, but I got a little board.. so I did it.
This has only been tested on the deodexed version, if you are on the odexed version, be aware this may not work.
I still need to fix the menu to unlock bug (It is really easy to fix, I will do it early tomorrow)
Anyways... You guys are going to want the download link, but first.. Please read the disclaimer..

I flashed this under the assumption that Trigger v1.1 was a deodexed rom... I still think it is, but if it isn't someone please correct me. It went into a boot loop right after installing it, so I let it continue to loop for a while then pulled the battery and tried again. It booted all the way up this time, but now it won't go into the market. I tried a fix_permissions in ROM Manager, but it only fixed the permissions for ROM Manager itself... Any ideas? I got this thing just the way I liked it and forgot to do a backup...
EDIT: I saw that Trigger has a new version v1.2 that includes the lockscreens and couple other new things. I'm just going to flash that and re-customize. Thank you anyway for the potential help.
Try clearing market data and see if it lets you.

Black Glass Style Keyboard

For those of you familiar with the Black Glass X theme by 928Droid, I have ported some of the keyboard colors and images into the Bionic Keyboard.
Below are the screenshots along with the install for it.
This install package must be installed from Bionic Bootstrapper, which means you must be ROOTed. You also must be DeOdexed. My Auto-DeOdexer is in my signature.
I have this running on my phone from the install package, so I know it works. This does not mess with the swype keyboard at all. This only replaces the LatinIME.apk file which is for the standard Multi-touch Keyboard.
If you have issues, just let me know.
Again, as I always say, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you mess up your phone.... it's not my fault.
ENJOY!!!
I added the Factory LatinIME.apk install as well for those that wish to revert back to the factory grey.

Droid Bionic ICS Theme for D3

http://goo.gl/P5axT
I took no part in this theme, just simply sharing my findings.
If you are on a deodexed rom, it seems that Droid Bionic ICS theme for UNLEASHED will work just fine. I personally have flashed the theme over MonsterRom 1.1h and everything is working, no force closes. It should work whether or not you use 1% battery increments, as it does not flash a services.jar. It does already contain the 1% .pngs for the battery though. So, it should work on both 10% and 1% increment roms. Do NOT flash the batteries in this thread as they will cause you to bootloop. If you want 1% and are on a rom that only shows 10%, I recommend you flash a rom that has 1% battery, then flash the theme.
Be sure to thank the Themer!
Alright.. so, I have the Galaxy Nexus bootanimation, linear 1%increments, and using whitebread metamorph. I'm also on Stock Deodex. Would/should this still work? I don't get what you mean by, "don't flash the batteries" in this thread.

Yes it should. It doesn't flash a services.jar which is the file that controls 1% battery increments.
So when you flash, you should still have boot animation (I have the same one, didn't change) 1% battery (ICS themed) and new framework, which will remove your metamorph.
Just play it safe and nandroid, unless you have a recent enough one.
Yep, I made a nandroid yesterday, and on the 4th, cause I was messing around with metamorph.
Well sweet, I'll try this out and edit(or reply again if other people replied) my post and tell you how it went.
Edit again - Hehe, never mind. Seemed as though I just needed to read your first post again. Figured it out. Still wondering if I need to put this in a certain spot though or if anywhere will work fine like it did for flashing the bootanimation and 1% increments.
Edit - Works perfectly! Thanks for sharing. Looks like I'll need to make an account on Rootzwiki to thank the creator(s).
Edit - Never mind.. I lost my status bar? Going to try flashing the accurate status bar zip on top of it. Maybe you're supposed to do that and I didn't know.
Edit - Nope, didn't work. Still no status bar.

Will we get official ICS? Yes, probably in about 7 months. We will have CM8 AOSP before the blurred up, crappy motorola version though so it doesn't matter.
Got it to work!
I restored my phone with nandroid before I had metamorph, cleared cache, then installed/flashed the unleashed version, and then before rebooting I went ahead and flashed the battery part too. Now I have my status bar back and a sexy theme.
Thanks again!

Totally Inverted APPS (I take no credit for this)

Here's a link to inverted apps for ICS. I haven't seen this here.
I CWM flashed the Contacts and MMS right in.
I'm running CM9 Beta 2. After install, I had to do a reboot because for some reason the home screen and app drawer wouldn't populate. After that seems to be runnning fine... and very smooth.

excellent, these were updated to remove the phone apk errors I was getting on the newer CM9 beta 3 and AOKP builds.

Have you tried to use the "phone" app since flashing that modded contacts app? Since they didn't include it with their zip file, you may find that it says it's not installed anymore, even though the APK is there.
Anyone know of an inverted gtalk that works with cm9 b3 or aokp. All the ones I've tried have borked my phone and can't even re install the stock one without start all over with clean install.

No, the inverted apps work ok with the exception of the contacts app, when you flash it, your phone will tell you there is no phone.apk when you try to use it. You can still make calls and get to the dialer through the people app, but it won't come up on it's own anymore.

I read all that last night - also droidforums.net. There was never a solution beyond reflash, and nobody ever reported back if they were able to solve it. I don't recall having this problem with Safestrap 1.08 when I tried Liberty before.
Oh well. I'll keep playing around. I tried the vending.apk from Maverick 4.5 but that didn't seem to help either. I also tried turning ads back on in ROM Toolbox. It may be time to go through build.prop or something.

Ok, I got it working. What worked for me is to skip the initial setup of Liberty by doing the four corner trick (i.e, on the "touch the Droid to begin" screen, touch the four corners of the touchable display in the order upper left, upper right, lower right, and lower left; this will skip the setup steps and bring you straight to the home screen). Touching the market after that asks you to log in to a Google account, and this successfully starts the market/play store without a force close.
Breaking my usual rule of not changing two things at once, I also switched from the first ROM slot to my third (I have three slots.) I doubt that made a difference, though.

Hmm, that could be why. I always skip setup via 4 corners, although back when liberty first came out I probably didn't. Although it could be coincidence, as stated in the thread, it seemed kinda random, appearing for some, and being fixed via multiple reflashing.
I've been giving some consideration to going back to liberty for awhile, switch it up. I'll put it to the test if i do

I flashed it with safestrap 3.5 and everything works perfect for me. Are you sure you guys used the right gapps? Everything works on my phone.
P.S.......And thanks for updating Liberty to work with Safestrap 3.5..........

Oh, cool. I'm just used to flash my own GApps with Liberty, like before.
Weird, not sure why people are having an issue with it then?

You only need to flash GApps on aosp based roms like cm and aokp. This is due to legal issues, android is open source, gapps are not. Since liberty is heavily modified blur base rather than being compiled from source, gapps are included.

Thanks, I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm not sure if there's anything in a CyanogenMod Gapps that would be bad for Liberty.
Anyway, the four corners trick works, and everything else in setup is easy to re-do. Restoring apps and WiFi access points I do with Titanium anyway, so I don't need to restore from Google.
I have to say that I set this up but went back to Minimoto because I was traveling and I wanted to have a known-good setup. I'll restart with Liberty in a day or two and see how things go.
