Hey Folks,
I got anxious and thought flashing a new baseband would give me the edge in my area. Well, the original baseband I had on my Droid was the c_1.07.00R....
I tried flashing the following:
C_1.3E.01P
C_1.3E.01E
C_01.41.00R
C_01.43.01P
From http://download.peteralfonso.com/sholes
Now, I don't get ANY mobile data connections. Looks like the baseband has stopped working. WiFi is fine. I have Verizon service, and live in a slightly remote area that was once popular with Alltel. I'm guessing the radios in my area haven't been updated with LTE or the new technology...
Now, to my question. Does anyone have a link or file for the C_1.07.00R baseband?? Or do I flash an original ROM to attempt a baseband switch??
So far (in my reading), it seems ROMs don't affect Basebands. Is there an .SBF that would fix my issues?? I need to read more on .SBFs. BTW, I feel comfortable using ADB.
\_/\_/ Cheers for any info or help!!
Well... no response from the forum! I found that if you reload an original image through a .SBF file, you can restore the A854 baseband to 1.07.00R.
Unfortunately, this didn't resolve my mobile data network connection issue. Keep in mind there are several Droids out there... Verizon, Alltel, European, Asian, Australian... A853, A854, A855 ffffffuuuuuuuuu.....
Verizon is sending me a new phone; Droid2 replacement. Hopefully, I can keep this one going. READ!!! READ!!!! READ!!!! Learn everything before doing anything.
Peter Alfonso's basebands are specifically Verizon's Basebands for the Motorola Droid (A855). It is not known as the Droid on any other carrier.
Also, after flashing a new Baseband, it clears any PRL information, so you must dial *228 to reconfigure the PRL for the phone. You will then get all voice/data services after that.
I have the same issue on my VERIZON Motorola Droid A855
I have the same issue I even Reinstalled the Default image
VZW_A855_FRG22D_QSC6085BP_C_01.43.01P_SW_UPDATE_01 and even went back tro the default baseband then went out and did a*228 and option 1 and still no mobile data connection when I try to do a *#*#4636#*#* and go into Phone Information and tried several of the Network types
1) CDMA Auto(PRL)
2) GSM/CDMA Auto(PRL)
3) CDMA Only
4) EvDO Only
Then after each on of those I would go down to menu and "select radio band" I tried
USA and Auto and got this error message Set [Automatic] unsucessfull and Set [USA] unsucessfull I'm starting to think this is a hardware issue possibly from overclocking it I had it set to min 250Mhz and max 800Mhz or it's some setting somewhere deep in the Android OS that needs to be reset I'm still troubleshooting but everything else on my droid is working great.
This shouldn't be related to overclocking, I think. It's something about CPU, not radio.

Hello!
Just installed cyano 6 N1 on a nexus one that I got from Videotron here in Canada.
The thing is that now ive lost 3G network, with the radio firmware update FRF50-radio-4_06_00_12_7.zip.
And I got me there, I lost my damn nandroid backups, thus having fun trying to get that "stock" radio firmware back in.
Anyone can provide me with the stock OS + Radio that works with Videotron, I think they are on 1700mhz aws band.
There is no difference between the radio software on the 2 different models of the N1, it's the same for both.
Have you checked the APN settings to make sure you settings are still there, I've had to add mine manually when installing CM6.
that did it
Well you got it, there was no APN in there.
It work now, I found the apn info using google
Hey everyone,
Okay here's the problem as I see it. I have lost my ability to connect to 4G service. I'm located in West Lafayette, IN, which is a very good with the 4G service. I love my droid bionic. I have been to hell and back with this phone, through all the leaked versions, and getting back on the OTA, yet I still have problems. I noticed that I couldn't get 4G, which I initially thought it was just the data drop complaints everyone is talking about, but I can get 3G no problem. I go to compare my info with some others that have the 901 update and i noticed the difference in the Baseband version.
What I have:
System version: 5.9.901.XT875.Verizon.en.US
Model Number: DROID BIONIC
Android Verision: 2.3.4
Baseband version: CDMA_N_04.06.00R
Webtop Version: WT-1.3.0-108_DBN-24
Kernal version: [email protected] #1
Build number: 5.51_84_DBN-70
ERI version: 5
PRL version: 1
What I believe I should have:Baseband version: CDMA_N_04.06.00R LTEDC_U_07.1E.00
I saw on another site to dial *#*#4636#*#* and I went into phone information and scrolled down to see if I could change the preferred network type, and LTE is not even option. :/
My phone does recieve data though (3G), and it working well minus the 4G, but obviously I'd love to have the 4G seeing as that's what I bought it for. Can anyone help? Much appreciated.
Do you have the proper radio for 901?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I believe so. I used the link on droidlife's post about the new 901 update and haven't touched anything since. Other than a factory reset and etc to try and improve data drops.
update: okay this sounds weird, but it now says I have the correct baseband. However, when I go to *#*#4636#*#* and try to check the preferred network type, LTE is still not an option, the CDMA/GSM (Auto) is what's checked now. I have 4G, but it is very intermittent and then usually eventually just hops on 3G and sticks. I changed the preferred network type to "other" in hope that it keeps looking for 4G, and it might have helped, but not much. any ideas? I think something is still wrong with my radio or something probably...
Lte is not an option on mine if I do the 4636 deal either, and I can connect 4g.

okay, what is your set to? and my has been connecting, but after about 2 mins, disconnects for a bit, then reconnects....
Under network preferred mode it says cdma/gsm? Should read CDMA/LTE and CDMA Only.. Your baseband should read CDMA_N_04.06.00R LTEDC_U_07.1E.00 I could try and send you the radio files only if you like????
Did you try a ROM or are you stock?
I mean after you dial *#*#4636#*#*, when you go to settings, wireless & networks, etc, ya I only have those two options....and sure, that'd work!
and I'm still on stock.
are u rooted?
I am rooted. I'm starting to think it might be my area. I'm not sure though.
You could check and make sure that these files are in your system/lib folder of the phone. If something is missing then that is probable your issue... http://db.tt/m60w2zE2

I do have all these files, PLUS a BUNCH of other ones as well....
These in general are for the radio..
Okay, well now I'm getting 4G, just not staying connected from more than 2 mins. It'll connect, then disconnect and say I have no service, which will last about 2 mins as well. Trouble communicating with towers? or maybe the towers themselves.....just throwing out ideas.
Sounds like Verizon tower farts!!!!

Okay, well when I woke up this morning, I checked again, and now my baseband version is back to not having the "LTED...." ending, or whatever it is. Even airplane mode on/off, won't bring back the 4G that I used to be able to get for at least a little bit......any ideas?
I would recommend you do a nandroid backup and a titanium backup.
Then do the bionic save path which will get back you to stock
If LTE is still hit and miss call verizon to report the problem
Question. when you dial *#*#4636#*#* click phone information, and scroll down to preferred network type or whatever it says, do you have the option for an LTE?

No. The option you should select is GSM/CDMA auto (prl)
This will give you 1x to 4G connectivity with verizon.
Selecting CDMA auto (PRL) disable the ability to connect to 4G.
Hi All,
Here's my roaming dilemma. There's an R beside the signal frequency and it won't go away.
Relevant information;
I have recently switched from CM7 to CM9 for the captivate. i'm using the latest version (14). from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363760
I'm on a Canadian network with a company called Fido, which is owned by Rogers. My APN is set to "Fido Default" and my network is Rogers. this would NOT be roaming since it's the same company.
i ran the phone info using *#*#4636#*#* and it says "Roaming: Roaming" essentially the roaming is ON.
After this i downgraded back to CM7 and tried running the same options. the result was identical. APN is "Fido Default", network is Rogers BUT in phone info it says "Roaming: not Roaming". Essential the roaming is OFF, which is correct, there was never an "R" beside the signal strength in CM7.
Can anybody please help me, i'm not sure if there's a setting that i'm missing or dont know about. or this could possibly be just a bug with CM9.
Since i'm new to this forum i don't have my min 10 posts to post in the development side so i've had to post here.
If there's any more details that you need me to check to give you the relevant info plz let me know and i will get hat asap.
thx
EK
I wonder if it is just a quirk in how it recognizes the network. I have an AT&T Microcell and, while it shows my carrier as "Microcell" on Samsung-based ROMs, it just shows "AT&T" on CM7 and CM9. Not the same issue, of course, but there is apparently some control in the ROM or kernel on how networks are displayed. If you don't get any hits here, report it in the CM9 forum once you have enough posts and see if anyone has any ideas.
well my phone is originally AT&T, and when it turn on the AT&T logo and everything is still there. so it could be still a weird way it recognizes it.
fixed. figured out all i needed was a new modem.

Care to share which modem you found that works with CM9 and the ATT Microcell?
I looked back in the forum a couple weeks for similar threads but couldn't find one that was just like this issue.
On the stock ROM that came with the phone and with the d3rpOne ROM (Android 4.1.2, HTC Sense 5) I can get LTE working fine. I don't think it even really requires any airplane/network mode toggling.
This morning I tried Beanstalk (Android 4.3, CM 10.2) and two different releases of another CM ROM (Android 4.3, CM 10.2 and Android 4.2.2, CM 10.1).
The general instructions with those ROMs were just to toggle the network mode between LTE/CDMA and CDMA only, or to toggle airplane mode. Neither worked.
So how can I fix this? I don't really like Sense-based ROMs, but I definitely don't want to be without a good data signal.
Having the same problem. With the stock ROM, I get 4G. On CM 10.1.3, I can get 3G after toggling the network mode, but I can't get 4G.
LTE works for me using beanstalk with out doing anything special
Yeah, I got the impression that was the norm with most people. I might not have read the full thread, but I did read the first and last few pages and it seemed like everyone got 4G working at some point.
Glad I'm not the only one with this issue, though!
Bump for a new week.
Voice dialer
Say open apns
Select lte internet
Enjoy lte
Credit goes to David in the dev forum for the fix.
The APN will change back occasionally so you need to just select lte internet again.
With lte internet selected 3g and lte will work.

That sounds like a good solution, but it's still not doing it for me.
I went to APNs and selected "Sprint LTE Internet". That alone didn't do it. I toggled airplane mode, toggled my network mode, still nothing. I tried both Global and CDMA+LTE/EvDo. I gave it a few minutes for each one and still nothing. Rebooting didn't do it either.
Is there something I'm missing? How do my screenshots look? I read that someone wasn't getting an LTE indicator when they followed these steps, so just to confirm I tried to use my browser. I couldn't connect, so it's not just a matter of the signal icon being inaccurate.
I'm still seeing the same symptoms as Roboslim. Tried the same things, got the same results.
I finally got around to flashing a new radio. Could that make a difference?

Yeah, that wasn't enough to get it to magically start working.

When you flash the radio are you adjusting the frequency or band? Sprint uses LTE 1900 are you/can you change that? Trying to find ways to benefit an unlocked phone and take it to another carrier as Sprint sux so bad and has no 4g in my area?

I'm not very experienced beyond flashing self-contained ROMs, so I just got a ZIP someone posted in the Sprint HTC One boards and flashed that without any modifications. It didn't break anything when I went back to a Sense-based ROM, so I'm assuming it's alright.
As for unlocking and leaving Sprint... I'm actually with Credo, who uses Sprint towers. I like them, plus I just started my contract, so I personally won't be leaving anytime soon.
One last bump, I guess.
I suppose if it comes down to it, I can deal with Sense. The system settings really are way too simplistic, but with Widget Locker and a custom launcher it's something I can live with.
Alright one MORE bump. I'm getting the CM itch again. I just gave the MoKee opensource ROM a try and am having the same issue as ever.
Are there any other possibilities out there?
Flash the latest nightly. It should work fine. Worst case do a reboot after a fresh flash when the new ROM is fully booted.
Also try installing the most current firmware.
Make sure you are set for CDMA+LTE/EVDO and also try "home only" with a stock PRL before straying from default.

I have been flashing the latest releases for multiple ROMs and have had the same issue with all of them. I've tried reboots each time too.
Now, I might need some education on the rest of that post. Where can I get the latest firmware? Would that be an official Sprint/HTC thing?
I've messed with a lot of different combinations of settings after flashing these ROMs. I've done CDMA+LTE/EVDO and I'm pretty sure I've done "home only" (would the other option be "automatic"?). As for the PRL, would updating it from the system settings give me a stock PRL?

There is a firmware thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406330
Download the latest version and flash in CWM or TWRP.
The radios are the firmware images.
Changing the PRL can only be done in stock ROM, or by using QPST. The stock rom is by far the easiest if you have your MSL. Sprint should give you your MSL once you give tech support a call. If they don't then call back and get another tech. (I have never had a problem).
I would recommend using the latest stock PRL. I have noticed that if I try to roam on 3g there is a problem getting data (verizon towers IIRC). I believe that is because it is using EVDO vice eHRPD for 3g. What the difference is?? Well I don't know?
I do know that evdo and 1x still have ongoing issues. So I usually stick with home only to ensure that I stick with Sprint towers. I believe that this is the issue with me connecting to 3g data to my airave as well.
Could you post a screen shot of your APN settings?
Voice Dialer > Say "open apns" > select the menu that pops up and then screen shot what you see.
Should look like this.

I'll have to re-flash a CM ROM before posting a screenshot, but from what I recall my APN settings looked like your image. I had "Sprint LTE Internet" selected. I'll flash the latest firmware from that thread while I'm at it.
As for the MSL, I'm not getting my service directly through Sprint. Would I get the MSL from my carrier, then, or would I have to get in touch with Sprint somehow? Do you know how that works? Either way, that'll probably take a little more time and waiting around than just flashing some stuff.
Once I get that MSL, what are the steps to set my PRL?
Who is your carrier? Did you buy the Sprint version off contract?

So i am having issue. I bought a Moto X 2014 and it is clean in terms of imei. Both t-mobile says its clean and at&t says its clean. It is a AT&T variant XT1097 and like i said it is clean in terms of imei. weirdly enough T-mobile wont be picked up on the service, but AT&T will? it basically says
No Service
selected network (T-mobile) unavailable
and when i do try to select a network it says
"cant connect to network right try again later"
has anyone else have this issue with the AT&T moto trying to use it on at&t? and found a solution? if there is any solution ill take it i need all the help i can get lol
i tried reseting it, factory reseting, airplane mode, etc literally almost everything else.
Sorry.....I have similar issue..Did you find the solution? If yes could you share the info for it.

Add the T-Mobile APN.
it's discussed on the ATT thread, basically it's an issue with the lollipop radio used on our update, "fix" is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/att-xt1097-lollipop-discussion-t2951294/page36
Add the APN (as mentioned above)
Download the 4G/LTE switcher app
select WCDMA preferred as network, only HSDPA speeds but it's better than no service ^_^
I had this similar issue and it was driving me absolutely insane, the connection would be weak then it would just disconnect me altogether and then zero service. Most of the time if I were to get a call the radio would switch to HSPAP like normal then after the call it would fail to switch back to LTE then it would just completely drop connection. This is on an unlocked AT&T XT1097 running on the unlimited MetroPCS (T-Mobile) mind you.
Since February 2015 I've been dealing with this bug by using LTE switch to get by, but this got so tedious and it just irked me that I had to go thru all this crap because of poor development. This is a pretty huge bug that should've never been there to begin with. Seriously, how dare you mess with my service Google?
Anyways what I did to fix this completely was just purchase MoFoRoot for $20 (fully worth BTW) and flash the 4.4.4 AT&T modem and now I have zero issues. I used to not connect to the network on a reboot but since flashing the modem I am now able to connect and stay connected without any hassle. The connection is now solid and I can't be happier with this phone. Currently on stock 5.0.2 non-rooted with 4.4.4 modem and zero problems, now I don't need to get another phone.
Using the fast.metropcs.com APN as the T-Mobile APN doesn't allow me to connect. I have solid LTE and HSPA/HSPAP service with it and can't be happier... I take that back, I'd be happier with better indoor coverage.
Thank you makers of MoFoRoot for your lifesaver app, I am happy to have supported your fine work.
