First of all, I don't have permission to post in the DEV forum, so I need to post it here. I'm trying to install Android on my Touchpad. For the life of me, I can't find the ACME installer download anywhere. I used the link on the Alpha thread but it downloaded some file that doesn't seem to be the installer. I've looked at all the instructions and readmes on the various threads but can't find a damn link to the file. I've even googled it and can't find it. I'm sure I'm missing something very simple so if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Try booting into recovery CMW/TWRP and restore a backup.

I think if you know your kernel etc. you have root rights, am I right?
If yes, just flash the google apps. You find the link in the cyanogen 5.0.7 thread.
If not, I don´t know what you can do

I'm confused...so did you fix it?
gapps-ds-ERE36B-signed
search for that ^
nope have not fixed it yet. seems like its a original dev phone but it came boxed brand new. in the mean time, the data sync does not open
and
system update gives the error - com.setting error or something like that..
im looking into gapps-ds-ERE36B-signed.zip, thanks for all your help..
You can get Gapps from here:

However Gapps is not an .apk file. You need to flash Gapps with the help of a recovery ROM & for that you need to have Android SDK installed. If all this is latin and greek to you; you should visit here

I would also suggest you to go through ROM Bible sticky in this section.
Alternatively you can unzip gapps file and look for marketUpdater.apk in system>app folder and install it manually. I have not tried this method ever but you can give it a shot; it will not brick your phone.
Thanks for the answer guys, i think i have a dev phone had a look at the rom bible so i can root i . but i dont know what rc versoin the device is cos this does not exist in the build number as in post one. also can you recommend a stable rom update for a beginner.
at amitabhishek the first link you have posted does not work, also is there a way to root a dev phone, or is it already unlocked dont want to try a rom and brick the phone.
Moved as not Android Development.
Guys,
anyone had luck with installing Gapps? I can get all of the necessary files in their places, but I get the "problems parsing image" error. I am able to modify protected content mounting R/W on root explorer paid version.
I am thinking I need the correct version of Gapps. Can one of the XDA geniuses please help me out.
Thanks,
Rob

Supposedly the CM4.x gapps would work, but I haven't given it a look yet. Also I vaguely remember someone else posting about how the google stuff isn't 100% working due to some connection issues.
We are attempting to get Market to work and am having connection issues. Here is the thread.
Android Market Support (Vending.apk)
I found a link to applanet which is great for market, I just need a calendar that can sync.
Hey guys i've read
those threads:

I've tried to install the bbsV4.0mlV0.7.zip archive available on this one
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052745)
but my clockworkmod 4.x cant install it!!!
so i installed this one MFUNZ DEFY.BasebandSwitcherV4.1.apk (itfunz)
the installation process is fine, but when i start the program he popups "the baseband is damaged".
i've tried to put "the default option" that he suggest (the app). Didnt work .-.
so i read a possible solution is removing "system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default" but my phone is a galaxy ace and i dont have this folder .-.
i've find this : http://acebb.blogspot.com.br/2012_05_11_archive.html
but the links to apk doesnt wokr anymore .-.
someone have used with sucess the basebswitcher?
All those links you were looking won't work as they were made for the Motorola Defy only, not for Galaxy ace.
That blog you read, haen't you read it??
He even posted an upodate of AceBB with a working link...

Hello, friends!
A few months ago I was using CyanogenMod 11 (4.4) for the S5 mini G800H to do some performance tests against the Stock ROM. Later I returned a factory ROM and ended up erasing the CM file. So far so good because I found the file continued in NET for download, but when I went to search for the same file again, I just can not find it anymore. The sites where I have downloaded the download have disappeared, the groups that have the download links to the files, and even in XDA I can not find this blessed file.
If someone has the download link, I would be VERY THANKFUL! That's it, guys, I'm new here, but thank you all at once.
I'm also looking for the rom, still no success...
If I find it, I'll post it here.
can anyone provide me the link to build custom rom easily for our device regardless of any android version ? i thought i saw one around our device forum can't seem to find it now....
