[Resolved] Problem with root explorer - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I have some problems with root explorer, i'm on gingerdx v017 and whenever i wanna use root explorer, the application crashes on launch. I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it, it works perfectly on the official 2.1 rom, but i couldn't use it on gdx. i soft brickes my x8, recovered it using the pc companion, reinstalled correctly gingerdx ( clean, i even re partitionned my µSD to have my install the most clean as possible ) but after 3 reflash, and tries, root explorer still crashes... i'm trying since 2 days now to install x8gesture, but without root explorer, i'm a bit stucked actually...
So if anyone have an idea on how i could make it run, or if there is an alternative to it that would do the same job, thanks =)

Get another version of RE.

I`m using "Ghost commander"

thanks, ghost commander works, i finally managed to install x8gesture xD

[Q] Sudden lost of root access Milestone

Hey guys,
I've been messing around with my phone trying out nadlabak's CM6 for milestone. After removing it (because of lack of apps2ext) i flashed my nandroid recovery back (GOT android 2.1 with root) but somehow I seem to have lost my root access.
The superuser.apk is still present, and opens listing apps granted access, but all my other apps that require root (setcpu, titanium backup, autostarts etc) does not have root access.
I currently use Androliani's recovery but running the root script causes my phone to hang.
Any idea why / solutions?
You need to root again your milestone by using z4root. After that all your required root apps can be used. I'm sure you know how to install this app, right?
Just place the app at the root of your sdcard,ON the phone and use app installer,or open astro file, etc to install the app.

just go reflash your previous rom and restore back ur backup files. after that u need app called titanium backup (PRO-multiple backup), backup ur apps using that apps..
i already dun that ,but i cant acces titanium backup when i install froyo again...how to acces previously installed apps is the problem i encounter.

[Q] root unsuccessful :(

Hi,
the problem is next:
I root my phone (xperia x8) with super one click (successful), i follow the instructions
then i installed root explorer. after that I copy the cwm files and with root explorer i tried to remove it to system/bin
the problem starts here. there wasn't enough space, so I remove 3 files of 4.
after that i uninstall some unimportant apps to get some space.
when I tried to enter root explorer the message appear:
"restart app"
"Root explorer has not yet managed to obtain root accsess because of issuses with superuser, this often happensthe first time the app is run but usually fine from the on Click ok and restart the app to try again make sure you respoding superuser promt"
after that i tried everything:
- reinstall root explorer, restart phone, allow/decline in superuser... no result
- install es file es file explorer, and follow the instructions but no results, can see the system/bin folder but can't manage(copy/paste, cut/paste)
the message when i click root explorer in es file explorer said that the phone is not support.
in meanwhile I noticed that i cannot connect to my wireless network....
after that i tried:
- settings reset, nothing
- factory defaults.
after factory default my phone don't recognize my Sim card, and the wireless still not work.
I don't know what to do.
Can someone please help!
Please
did superuser ask you about permision? if not then you need to have superuser to use that alsbo you can install the cwm via rommanager which can be downloaded for free from google play
Thanks for the answer.
The superuser asked me about permission. and I click allow.
what is the procedure with rommanager?
Thanks in advance
after you get it from market you just need to open it and click flash cwm recover after that it will tell you that is completed succesful or not
but...
there is a little problem,
i can't connect to wireless network, and my sim card don't work, so I can't download it from market...
any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Root your x8 using flahtool then use x8 toolbox to install recovery or cwm (is better) then try to get to cwm and make backup. Chceck mamufacture date and if you can unlock your bootloader then download and install custom kernel and rom

So the only one problem left is i can not use Root explore, can sbd help? :crying:
I had a problem like that and I solved it by using super su instead of superuser and of that doesn't work re root your phone using the new bin4ry rooting method.
Press thanks if I have helped

Some apps I've found I had to browse to the external SD card by going mnt/sdcard/external_sd. I don't have my phone on me (getting repaired) so I can't check, but I found it pretty confusing. I had to actually go to my PC and browse to make sure it was actually pointing to the right spot.

Question [Arrow OS + Magisk] Root not working anymore

Hi
I was using Magisk flawlessly with Arrow and now it's not working anymore. The root window prompt rarely shows up, file browser are not able to perform any action inside the data folder etc. while the two root checker apps that I installed tell me that everything is fine.
I don't get what's happening and why I'm having a sl hard time only trying to install a moded app. What's even funnier is that even on MIUI I was able to install a obb file without root...
just uninstall and reflash magisk
