I am having a problem with not seeing the new rom zip file on the sd card. I have tried moving it manually and placing it on the sd card, I can see the file there but the cwm isnt seeing it to install it, Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chad

Hey guys, I have searched and searched for an answer to this question to no avail-
When I try to copy the .zip files for cm7 over to my sd card, I get an error that the sd card is not formatted. I started with a brand new card, formatted it to fat32, and burned the .img to it.
What am I doing wrong???
Thanks in advance!

Eject it, wait about 10 sec and re-insert it and see if that fixes the issue. Windows is innane in the way it handles media and can't be bothered to read after writing in some instances, especially after a format.
migrax
Bingo! That did the trick!
Thank You!
Hey guys I'm planning to replace my stock sd card, I just want to know how to copy all my files (apps+data) to the new sd card? Can titanium back up do all this? or do I need to manually copy all the files in my old sd card to the new sd card (copy and paste method)?
I don't want to start all over again so if anyone can help me.

If you want to be sure just copy all the folders and files from the old card to the new card. That would be enough.

I change my stock 2GB with 8GB, done with just copy-paste.. from stock sdcard copied to computer (also as my backup) then copy to new sdcard.
are you sure that its already enough? how about the datas? like saved games, files etc?
1.- Remove sdcard from OB.
2.- Copy all the stuff to your computer. A simple copy-paste.
3.- Copy from your computer to the new sd card.
4.- Insert the new sd card and enjoy.

Don't worry, the phone still read the same as before from sdcard. My game "Asphalt 5 HD" is still working after the data moved to new sdcard.
Well, you should try it for sure...
I've forgotten something very important!!!!!!
2.1.- Insert the new sd card into your OB.
2.2.- Format it through settings.
2.3.- Remove the card.
Complete!

¿¿¿¿¿?????
There's not much to elaborate on this matter, I'll try to put it as simple as possible:
1. Unmount old SD card in Android
2. Pull off an old SD card (the device doesn't need to be switched off)
3. Using microSD/SD card adapter, copy old SD card content to your PC.
4. Put new SD card in Android device.
5. Unmount it in Settings/SD Card
6. Format it in this menu
7. Pull off a new SD card.
8. Using microSD/SD card adapter, copy old SD content from PC to your new SD
9. Put new SD card in Android device.
DONE
I didn't go through 4-7, but formatted new SD card as FAT32 in PC, and it works well.
thanks for all the help guys.
I was hoping someone has a broken internal memory card (not hoping).. and has been successfully able to run firmware off an SD Card?
If so could you spare time guiding me how you managed to do so, and if you realy could just copy and paste the contents of your SD Card into a folder - so I may be able to test it on my phone to see if it turns on again.
It is currently in the boot loop. =\
Thanks in advance.

Search the forums, I have seen a couple posts about broken internal memory.
Hi guys, I have the following issue. I installed a SD card but when plug-in it to my computer only the internal SD would show ( I was expecting both ), then I went to Storage on the phone and it was showing there, so I chose format in case that cuold help but now it's gone from there too
Anyway, since I can't seem to fix that for now, can I copy a rom into the internal SD and flash it? I don't know if CWM will be able to search there or if a certain wipe will format my internal SD.
Help would'be much appreciated.
recent versions of CWM have an option in the zip-flashing menu for flashing from internal storage.
I created a folder named CM in th internal sd and flash everything from there. Just remember the folder and you can moce item with root broswer or directly download there. In my case /mnt/sdcard/cm

I was on stock froyo V10a, anyway after a couples of tries a notification that the sd card was corrupted popped and gave me the option to format it once again, this time it worked.
So solved, thanks guys.
More comments on my new little issue would be much appreciated
Ummm
Can anyone suggest why I get an error when I try to restore a Nandroid backup fron my ext SD card? If I copy the same backup file to the internal card and restore from there, there's no problem.
It's no big deal to always use the internal card but I would like to try to learn what's going on. The obvious answer is there's something wrong with the ext sd card but all other reading/writing operations to/from the card cause no problems.
I'm using the Ultimate JB XXLSC v5.1
Anyone got any experience to share about this problem?
Thanks in advance
Trevor
What's the error?
Thank you for replying.
It just says, "Error restoring backup..." and then goes back to the CWM menu. Not very helpful, I realise. I thought at first it was a corrupted backup file but it happened with older backups. Everything works fine hen the backup file is copied to int sd card.
It may be just a small bug in this ROM or some other glitch that could disappear with the next ROM upgrade. I'll keep monitoring. Meanwhile, I'll try re-formatting the ext sd card and see if that helps.
