alternative rom boot loop - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
My X8i was happily running Floyobread v0.3 but I decided to fiddle and installed ginger dx, all fine had a good play and decided to go back to floyo. used xrecovery to restore the backup I had made of the phone running floyo before I tried ginger.
This resulted in a bricked phone, stuck at the sony ericsson title.
So eventually recovered the phone by flashing it back to standard, and then updating using the sony ericsson PC companion. So back to a fully functional running standard phone.
I then rerooted the phone, installed xrecovery etc.
Now everytime I try and install another ROM (tried at least 6 different ones) they all install OK but end up being in an endless loop of their own logos, the one after the sony ericsson one.
What am i doing wrong?
John

Interesting...Well, the first thing that comes in mind is the full wipe. Did you do a full wipe after each installation?

when you say full wipe do you mean the wipe option in xrecovery?
If so then yes.
Also completely formatted the sd card - in desperation more than anything else!

[Q][HELP] Xperia Z Possibly Bricked - Wont boot/charge

Hello, ive had my Xperia Z a few weeks now, it has a locked bootloader which has never been unlocked, i rooted my device, flashed CWM, backed up my existing rom and then installed a new one, but i lost all my contact/system info so i restored my previous backup. It said restoring, then 'Failed to Mount /System.' I rebooted device, it just hangs on the Sony logo. The first time this happened i used the Update Service program to reinstall software and factory reset the phone fine, but now it says the battery is below 50% and it will not proceed.
When i plug the phone into the charger, the red light stays on, (Doesnt change colour) and it just hangs on the Sony logo, i cant access recovery menu either.. Anyone have any advice for me ?
Cheers
Switch it off and leave it charging for an hour or 2 then try the update service again

Help please. It happened to me too.
I upgrade my firware to .67, root, dual recovery, no problem. but the problem happens when i followed this thread for deodex http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458411
"Copy the rom to your microSD
Backup any important data to your microSD
Boot into recovery and do a nandroid backup first
If you have CWM: select Wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache, go into 'mounts and storage' and select Format /system, then /data, then /cache"
Then i tried to reboot recovery, but i choose "**Back** , then it reboot and have a red LED light with a Sony logo. It just stays there, what should i do? Please help...

Stuck on Sony logo

I tried to install the latest dual recovery (had previous versions on there already), and everything seemed to go smoothly, but on reboot and going into CWM recovery once, it now goes to the Sony logo and buzzes once, and then goes back to that all over. I can still get into recovery, but I had problems flashing another ROM before, so there might have been an underlying issue.
I want to do the Sony Update Service, but following the disaster recovery instructions for it, SUS only finishes by saying that I already have the latest software installed.
Could anyone tell me what I should do in order to restore it to factory conditions?

Xperia Z won't boot : stay on "wave animation"

Hi there,
I have a big problem
To install my corporate email (exchange 2010) I must encrypt my phone. Normal is my security policy.
I charge my phone full, connected to power, and I run the encryption (the phone only, not the sd card)
And there is the drama! It restarts, once, twice, and now blocked on the animation, just after the Sony logo.
I've restart many times, i've shutdown many time...(via power button up) > Same. It remains on the animation ...
My phone is on 10.3.1.A.2.67 rooted DooMLoRD and rom RomAur 9.1. Ultra stable until now ...
I do not know what to do. I wipe it less than 15 days I did not want to start over, and of course unfortunately I have no recent backup adb ...
Help! How to start my phone?
Thanks!
DraGula
From what I have read its usually not recommended to encrypt the phone while running a custom rom. You may need to use flashtool to.revert to your chosen stock.firmwate, then encrypt, then root. If you really want a custom rom choose one based on stock and with a standard.kernel, even then you may need to experiment and recover with flashtool until you find one that plays nice with encryption.
On my old lg trying to encrypt it while running Cm softbricked it too.
Hello!
FYI, I flashed my rom with rom 10.3.1.A.2.67 unbranded (without wipe nothing)
And it works!
I've lost the root and the custo of the rom of course, but that's all.
It's better than nothing
Thanks for your help

[Q] No ROM to run

Hello...
I'm new to all of this rooting, installing and so( used to do this years ago on my LG KP500 Cookie ), so I'm not sure what to look/search for when I'm in this "bad" spot.
I used my sony xperia SP, but I did not like the current version of android it was, as it was lagging, hanging and other weird stuff, so I've decided to try and install the "lollipop" version. Since the guide I followed was detailed, I got it all working perfectly fine, until I tried to install gapps. After installing them, my phone started crashing / hanging on booting, which kept kicking it back to "SONY" screen, and from there it's just an endless loop.
so I tried to wipe and use backup that I had saved, so I could try and reinstall the ROM. It ended up at where I can't do anything anymore. I start my phone - "SONY" screen and nothing else. Can't access the CWM recovery, it doesn't progress anywhere, just sits there.
I'm lost. I don't know what to do Please help ;~;

Bootloop - no OS in my Z1

I'll tell you what happened yesterday... I restored a June backup (which I took when I sent my C9603 to be repaired abroad) in recovery mode after taking a new one with Philz Touch CWM. In both Roms I have LP 5.0.2 (14.5.A.0.270). So when I wanted to restore the latest backup I noticed I couldn't enter CWM but just TWRP, so that got me quite mad... Anyway I tried reinstalling the Dualrecovery but still one of them worked while the other one didn't. What I did then is definitely whe worst thing I could have thought of: I wiped EVERYTHING (except for the external SD) in recovery to try and flash a clean rom with flashtool, but since I shut down the phone after wiping it has only been able to turn on and show sony xperia logo, and I can't make it work with flashtool!
Somebody help, please
I have gotten a pretty much the same case as you (wiping all the storages). I used flashtool to get back to stock. Did you ever use flashtool? Because I remember when I was trying,it did not work because I went to recovery before they tell me to. xD
