Today i installed a bunch of different HTC programs and Skype
and i played with skype and it worked fine and after a little while i went to use it again and it wouldnt work .. and i find out that my storage card which was called "storage card" is now called "storage card 2" does anyone know how that happened? now any of the programs that i installed to it wont work because they are looking for "storage card"
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thats easy to fix, just delete the storage card folder that it created and reboot your phone and your storage card 2 will be storage card again. That's usually caused by you taking the card out and the phone trying to write something to the card such as email attatchments or whatever and since it doesn't find a card it creates a storage card file on your phone to replace it then when it find the card again it renames it to storage card 2.
i jus had the same sort of problem i deleted both sotrage cards, i deleted a new folder named storage card which showed as a normal windows folder and now wen i soft reset and the card is no where to b seen :s
Wondering if anybody here can help me out. I was cleaning out and backing up my SD card yesterday. Since then I have not been able to install anything straight to my SD card (installation unsuccessful error).
Apps will install to the phone and I can move them back and forth if App2SD is enabled. This is only a problem when space is low and it automatically installs to SD. Did I delete something needed on the SD card? Am I just stupid?
Nexus One - 2.2
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Same problem
I am having the exact same problem. cannot update an app that is on the sd card. Also cannot download an app that installs directly to sd card (for instance angry birds, had to start phone up without sd to install then reinsert sd and move app there. Using nexus one unrooted 2.2 if anyone knows a way to fix this please let me know
Update: okay so i moved all of my files to my computer from my sd. Formatted the memory card. And now it works again
I was hoping someone has a broken internal memory card (not hoping).. and has been successfully able to run firmware off an SD Card?
If so could you spare time guiding me how you managed to do so, and if you realy could just copy and paste the contents of your SD Card into a folder - so I may be able to test it on my phone to see if it turns on again.
It is currently in the boot loop. =\
Thanks in advance.

Search the forums, I have seen a couple posts about broken internal memory.
hi all~ i just full wipe my w8 (GDX c21) just now and i have no idea how to get the apps from my sd card to retrieve the apps i saved to my sd card ..i know they are in android.secure but how to you bring them back to your phone?
I realized that after taking some photos, the pictures would disappear once I did a reboot of the phone. Also, certain apps installed to the microSD would disappear after some time. I deleted everything using My Files (default file explorer) program. But once, I rebooted, everything is back like the microSD card is in read only mode.
Has anyone experienced a situation like mine and what could be a solution to fix this issue?
Thanks!
Did you try sd card fix on playstore
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Looks like I need root access in order to have the SD card fix.
You most likely have a dead SD card. Try formatting your SD on a computer. I had the same problem on my 64gb SanDisk. The SanDisk SD cards are known to have this problem. You can contact SanDisk and they'll provide you with information on how you can get a free replacement.
