I Cannot Root My Android Using SuperOneClik Coz The Program 'Not Responding' When I Click Thee "Root"...Anyone??
´Do you have the drivers?
What system do you have?
Enable debugging.
Install drivers.
Plug phone.
Run superoneclick.
Try to run it as admin.
Install PC Companion to get the proper drivers.
If you follow the tips of the member "rav3n_pl" you have a ROOT completed !
The problem is the program SuperOneClick not responding, not the rooting process.
Oh, try rooting with the latest version.
hello
hi, i saw your post and it seems there are pretty good replies so im just gonna give you the alternative. i rooted my phone using superoneclick but i know there is another way. download 4shared to your android device. launch 4shared and type in on the search bar z4root.apk... then download any of them thats has .apk at the end and an android icon i the beginning of the title and press download.
once downloaded launch the app. click root and wait i think thats how you do it.
im not sure for certain but if you are determined to use s1c (superoneclick) then open the .zip file and go down to the s1c app thing andright click on it.click run as admin...
if that does not work then do you have the correct drivers installed
do you have a certain operating program that cannot open it
hope i helped and it i did press the thanks button!!!hope it works too

Anyone else get this?
Thanks
Phil
Edit ...having doubts root worked now.....got the little $ though hmmm
you are rooted
....i think there is a problem with whitelist and our hero...thats all
i read it on here....hope this helps
Why do you want to install superuser whitelist from the market? Just use the one in the development forum (follow the guide).
It was the one from the dev forum , pushed via cmd prompt in xp as the guide said. Seems to work though, I'll just ignore the update available.
Yup the guide has said for a while that Superuser Whitelist gives problems but I've editted to try and make it clearer.
Just ignore the upgrade notice.

All instructions and links are for year 2009 and 2010. Thus with the new SDK and new version of HTC Hero, You cant use the adb methods.
There is no clear instructions.
I was able to root Evo using unrevoked this week with no issues... but Hero seems to be a nightmare..
I contanstly get 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command for all adb commands..
can someone explain how to root a Hero in Year 2011.
Go grab the universal androot apk from WWW.theunlockr.com and install it run it then download busy box from market and download rom manager use rom manager to flash your recovery then flash anything you want

It has nothing to do the year... what's your software version on the phone? Search the forums for the software version of your phone and I am sure, you will find a method to root it. Try the wiki, as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:Hero_CDMA.png.
The recent release of android sdk, adb was moved to AndroidSDK's "platform-tools" folder.
I think the Hero is the simplest to root.
THanks
Thanks... I used z4root to root and then rom manager to install the CayanogenMod6
I cannot even get ROM Manager from the Android Market to show up. I get the license to show in the search, when I search the other apps from Clockwork Mod, from within the license, everything but ROM Manager shows up.
I even tried emailing the apk from another phone to my Hero & it says Cannot be installed on this phone.
What gives? I need to install Recovery.
I installed Recovery Flasher app, tried 3 different recoveries, and none of them worked, it goes to the triangle screen instead of recovery, having to battery pull.
When I tried updating the Firmware downloaded from HTCs website, it always came back as Error, pls make sure your cable is connected.
There has to be someway to obtain a Recovery on my Sprint Hero.
I used z4root also, when I tried downloading this & using this apk, said Cannot be installed on this phone.
-----------------------------
UPDATE:
I just rebooted my laptop & rechecked my USB cable on both ends, reran the HTC Firmware updater tool & it actually worked. Now on 2.1, I was able to run that One Click Rooting app, and finally got the latest ROM Manager to install, and it said it flashed CWM Recovery.
I have used the one click root program to root my captivate.. the problem is I'm still cannot use those program that require root permission.
I got the superuser permission icon already but I'm still cannot use root required apps... someone pls help.

One rooted when you try and run a program that requires root access a notification should open asking if you why to allow root access.
Click on the super user app. What happens?
nope nothing pop up to ask if i allow the access...
I have tried a two types of one click root program which is Superoneclick and another one by TGA_Gunnman..
But both act in the same way that nothing will pop up and ask whether to allow access...
What happens when you click on the super user app?
Have you tried rebooting the phone?
Have you tried replacing apk with market, search superuser in market, see if it shows installed, try to update or replace
You are on stock, correct
yeap i have tried to reboot after the rooting process...
I can open the superuser app too.
Yes im on stock.
Im thinking should i use z4root now?
Might as well. Did you check for the app in the market?
What are you looking to accomplish with root? What is your goal?
yup i checked the market too... it shows i ald installed the superuser..
Just want to root and use the rom manager to back up...
And i dunno y suddenly the root works! now im okay! Thanks for the help!
I guess we need to install again from market and reboot in order to use this...
No problem, who knows what the issue was. Enjoy, I am sure you will be flashing roms in no time
I purchased att tab one week again, rooted using superoneclick and flashed to overcome 2.3.3 as instructed, everything works out fine.
Soon after I installed Titantium backup root, it showed "not rooted access", and I tried other apps (root explorer, tweeks), same message happens, and z4root superoneclick fail to do the magic this time.
Also, I tried to flash cf-root 2.3.3 JQ1 to root this tab, still no luck.
Just want to know how to root my tab? searched the board, could not find solution, any suggestion is appreciated.
My tab information:
baseband 19000ugjk3
pda: P1000xxjq1
phone: 19000ugjk3
csc: P1000Oxajq1
When you go to the app list do you see Superuser?? If I recall correctly, all you had to do is flash the gb stock safe in odin, and that should have given u all the root you needed.
Yes, I can see superuser in app list, and having no problem opening it.
So how can I do this, restocking GB-safe, can you provide more detailed steps, thanks very very much, I desperately need to unlock this tab.
ok when u open superuser can you click on log and see if superuser is denying your apps or if you maybe unknowingly denied them superuse access? The easiest way I can think of it to redo it again. download the gingerbread stock safe on the overcome website in my sig, backup all and i mean all your apps you care about, texts whatever it is. then download odin 1.7. Follow the overcome guide and you should be fine. Once your done your tab should already have superuser. Download and install the overcome RC1 full and flash that threw recovery.. following the guide again. you should be good to go. Hopefully your titanium backups are on external sd card
thanks, I checked the log, no denying of any applications, I will try to re-flashing once again, and see what happens. The only confusion I am having is that flashing overcome Rom requires a rooted system, since my current system is not completely rooted, is it ok? will this procedure brick my tab?
Again, thanks!
restocking shouldnt brick your tab, just clear your system and start fresh. But if your worried about bricking, make sure you are using a computer that wont just turn off in the middle of the flashing process or kids running around knocking your tab off the connector while flashing. If for some reason odin is not successful, just clear odin and try again without disconecting anything. Hope this helps
restocking ROM, seems everything is ok, thanks again,
But I could not find a version of root explorer working in this version,
it keeps shutting down saying "xx stop working", wired!
busybox
have you tried to re-install busybox?
when you open Ti Backup, click the problems button on the bottom. This will usually prompt you to update busybox. Just yes to whatever it says and wait for the application to restart.
Hit thanks if I helped!
I updated busybox through ti as suggested.
Reinstall root explorer 2.12.4, once opened, granted root access, still no luck, "sorry, the application root explorer (process com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer) has stopped unexpectedly, please try again.
really bothers me right now, any alternative app for the same function?

Click to collapse
Why not update root explorer from the market? seeing as the latest version is 2.15?
updated to root explorer 2.15, problem solved!
Thanks a lot, guys!
Before I get into it, I'm not sure if this is the best section for this. I posted here because it's a Samsung Captivate I am using and this is a question.
Anyway, I used a video to root my Captivate. I downloaded SuperOneClick, the USB Drivers for Captivate and .NET Framework. Everything went well and it said my phone was rooted successfully. Well, I used Root Check and Term Emulator and both said my phone was, infact, not rooted.
I also have the SuperUser app on my phone. I then proceeded to try again, where I got the error that my Captivate was already rooted. I used psneuter exploit to root. Now, I'm attempted to unroot my phone, where SuperOneClick seems to be frozen at "Waiting for device.."
After I unroot, what should I change or try?
Did you enable USB debugging from your phone? Give me more details on your rom and other stuff.
Also if your on gingerbread the one click root doesn't work on some gingy builds

Download any app from the market that requires root. Try to use it. If it works, your rooted, if not something is wrong.
