[FONT] Roboto Font from ICS [Download] - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

Got the Roboto font and its slick! I uploaded it to my dropbox for your enjoyment!
Note: I got this online not myself I take no credit. I only uploaded it.
http://db.tt/bTJM9zRA
To install:
Download file on your phone. Once complete open Root Explorer and navigate to /sdcard/downloads and long press on the zip you just downloaded. Choose to extract all to /sdcard/extracted
If you don't already have the app download Font Changer from the market (free). Once downloaded navigate in Root Explorer to /sdcard/extracted and copy both Roboto font files. Paste them in /sdcard/.fontchanger. Now open up font changer and apply Roboto font!

This worked awesome. Never had done it before and your instructions were easy. Thanks again.
Sent from my BAMF'd Forever Thunderbolt

Anyway to make the font slightly smaller? The default size is kinda big.

Other Method
I found it easier to just download Font Installer from the Market and then select Roboto from the list. Only minor issue was my phone seemed to freeze when I pressed yes to reboot, waited several minutes, did a battery pull, and then everything worked fine. I really like this font!

Yeah mine did the same thing and i did the pull and all seems to be working.

I love this font!! looks great!!

One other way, if you have ROM Toolbox...
Under Theme Settings-->System Fonts. It's at the bottom of the list. Just install from there and reboot.
I didn't have any problems with a slow reboot or anything.

I like how clean and legible this font is...very happy I installed it! Thanks!

Domo arigato for Mr. Roboto....domo...Domo.

Is there any way to install it without root?

possible to have black roboto?

installed and running without a problem...

thank you. I wanted this awhile ago. guess i just forgot to keep checking up.

Is this supposed to change the system font?

sorry to burst in your thread, but thought id make myself useful

yes this will change your system font if you want it too. what else would you want it to change? you can change many things...

it depends. if you want, you can use this to change the font on your SMS app, eg go sms or chomp sms. you can also use this font in your eBook app eg Aldiko ...
you cant change the whole system font without rooting though. it would be like... i dont know, installing anything on windows guest mode? thats what root does, take you out of guest mode... or something like that

Links dead, can you post it please? Thank you. x

[MOD] Resolution (dpi) changer *now with zips for all (hopefully) legend ROMs*

I shall take no credit for any of this. Smartsreenath first put me onto the idea, and pretty much anyone if this forum could've managed it. I just had the time to do it all.
Woo! Snakehult, being a genius, has made a clever little zip that uses proper scripts to just change the required value, instead of the whole file. So! Instead of me making an insane number of zips every time ROMs are updated use these instead. Cheers Snakehult!
Attached is a zip file with a whole lot of flashable zips in it. Don't flash the zip you download, extract that one somewhere and look inside
How to use:
Download the attached zip file, and extract it to somewhere on your computer. Inside the zip are a bunch of folders, each folder named after a ROM for the HTC Legend. Navigate into the folder that shares the name of whatever ROM you are using and inside you will find 6 zip files. These zips are flashable. The the zips are names thus: xxx.zip, where xxx is a number. The lower the number, the higher the apparent resolution. Choose a zip, copy it to your SD card and flash it like any other zip. To revert back to how it was simply flash the "160.zip". This just flashes a completely un-modified version of build.prop for your ROM. Make sure you only use the zips form the correct folder for your ROM, or funny things *might* happen.
More info:
By editing the build.prop file it is possible to increase the dpi of an Android device. This essentially scales everything down, so you can fit more on the screen. This is especially nice for browsing the market and the internet; as well as improving, in my opinion, the overall Android experience. The lower the number in the name of the zip, the higher the apparent resolution. It's worth noting that this does *not* change the actual resolution of the Legend; it's still a HVGA device. So you still can't install apps designed for bigger, more powerful phones, like the HTC Desire or Nexus One. This is a somewhat flawed way of achieving this effect, and can have some ugly side effects:
Some apps simply don't scale
HTC-IME mod ends up screwed
Games *can* be rendered unplayable, but not always. Often the menu is the worst affected part.
A work around to fix a number of issues is to disable the built in compatibility mode of Android, and if I knew a way to do this through a zip, rest assured that I would. It'd save me having to explain how to do it. Alas, I don't know how, so here's how:
In your ROM look for an app called "Spare parts". If it's not there look for it in the market. If you open that app and scroll down to the bottom you will find a checkbox option for "Compatibility mode". Ensure that this is *un-checked*, then reboot. Most issues will be resolved. As I learn more about Android I shall keep an eye out for a way to force apps to scale correctly, and if I ever find one I'll update these.
I have also tried values higher than usual, just for kicks. I don't expect them to be useful, nor will I make actual zip files for them, but I went all the way up to 200; and it felt like I was using an HTC wildfire: everything was really quite cramped.
My personal favourite setup is as follows:
CM 6.1, with a 768MHz overclock
My "lcd-density" (this MOD) set to 130
Launcher Pro Plus with 5 icon rows
Below is a paste of what was the first post (when I was just trying to fix a ****-up on my part), and is now here for reference. It has all of the original build.prop files attached.
Attached is a .zip file, which you will need to extract somewhere. It's not for flashing. Within this zip are several folders, each containing a "build.prop". You'll notice that each folder is named after a ROM: Azure, NeonMOD etc. The "Based-on-stock" folder should cover these ROMs:
[ROM] Based on Official WWE_2.03.405.3 ROM + A2SD [Rev 03 - released]
[ROM] UPDATED Almost Stock Legend HTC WWE 2.03.405.3 Radio 7. 08.35.21
You'll need to use ADB to push these files, as I haven't had time to make flash-able zip's for them yet
Instructions:
1. Extract the zip to a suitable directory, and locate the appropriate build.prop
2. Copy the build.prop to your AndroroidSDK/tools folder
3. Reboot your phone into ClockworkMOD recovery and navigate the the "Partitions menu", then click "mount /system"
4. Connect your phone to the PC and start CMD/a terminal window in your AndroidSDK/tools folder
5. Run the command "adb devices" to ensure that the ADB server is running, and that the PC has detected your device correctly
6. Run these commands in this order:
adb push build.prop /sdcard/build.prop
adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/system /system
cp /sdcard/build.prop /system/build.prop
This will put your resolution back to default, but should fix everything else too. If you still want a higher resolution then follow the guides in posts 1 and 2 of the other thread. This one.
If you can't use ADB for whatever reason you'll just have to wait it out until myself or someone else create proper, flash-able, fixes. I have done this to try and quickly rectify the issue; assuming, of course, that most people in this forum can use ADB
I will make proper zips, but it's getting late for me...

hi
here is a zip for neonmod 0.21 with 135lcd, flashed it on my legend today with rom manager
Wow do we have a lot of ROMs...
Anyhoo, I am currently working on appropriate flashable zips for each ROM, and each ROM will have the following versions:
110
120
130
140
150
160 (original)
I'm doin' 'em as fast as I can..
EDIT:
Current thoughts:
All build by Ali Ba have nice, short build.prop files. The current record for the longest one it held by MyTouch Legend...

Thx for all hard work!
No worries, I hope I haven't missed one
Now to sign 50 60 zip files...
EDIT:
DONE! All finished. I really hope they work. I can't test them all, but there is no reason why they won't work. Lemme know either way.
nice job
thanks bro

spare parts is also in neonmod

Good job!
Cool, glad you like it
Just flashed 130 for SpeedLegend and it worked like a charm
HTC_IME works here (this isnt the mod)
images dont look so good anymore and stuff, but alright
works fine
edit; TBH I find the 140 to be 'more' compatible overall, and show a better picture (ive tried all the flashables)
thats besides the orgnal setting btw, it gives the best picture by far.
Im on the same DPI and rom as you TheGrammarFreak. works great. Too bad there is no function for more icons on the homescreens with LauncherPro...

yeah, that is for 5 rows on a screen, but you still can't have 5 icons on a row... That's what I want. I tried ADWLauncher again, but it feels so god damn slow.
Ummm, I have 5x5 icons on my desktop with the stock ADW launcher. Just check out "Settings > ADW > Screen prefs > Desktop cols/Desktop rows"

[Q] This may be noobish...

Okay, i asked this question in the Hero forums, but it was never answered, but it is a general android question, that has to do with themes, lol, but the question was, is there a way to add more fonts for use JUST with minimalistic text? where would i put them, and.. how do you create a flashable font file? i'm sorry if this may have been answered somewhere.. -.-; but please answer, lol, it's been bugging me for a while now.. oh! and one more, when you guys mod widget locker, does it uninstall for you when you reboot your phone? and thank you all once again (^_^*)b
*****, i don't mean to throw a bunch of questions in, but when you move a picture file, do you have to unmount and then mount your sd card for it to show up in 3d gallery? it always does that for me...
I've been wondering the same thing.
'Cause I wanted to use the Segoe WP font, but when I put the .ttf files or w/e on my card and went into MTW and tried to locate it, it wouldn't.
So I gave up on that.
1. The font question was a little vague, but system/fonts is where all the fonts are at. You can just replace them with root explorer, you don't necessarily need a flashable zip. It's just a little more work.
2. I don't use widget locker, so I'm no help there.
3. I think unmounting and remounting the SD card would work, but I know the phone automatically rescans for new media on a reboot. That's easier than unmounting the SD card, to me.
Hope that helps.

i thank you for helping on the font question, just in minimalistic text widget, there is a choice to change the font in the settings, i was wondering if there was a way to get more in it..? or would adding the fonts in the system/fonts folder do that?
Minimalistic Text has added the ability to use custom fonts, but only for the donate version (donators get features earlier than regular users). Using custom fonts will be available for free version users soon. I'd check the MTW thread though, I might have misunderstood.
If you didn't sign the .apk WL will fail upon reboot.
What you're doing is creating a temporary mod, unsigned.
To fix it either sign the .apk with APKManager like a real man.
..or install WL to /system/app <- - - Only if you're lazy though.
lmao, i never thought about not signing it! and is there a way for me to donate??? =D
Regarding the mount/unmount thing: I installed Auto Mount and it rescans the SD card everytime I disconntect from USB. Works perfectly on my HTC Desire. Maybe you should try it.
And regarding your WL mods: if you use NinjaMorph you are able to exchange graphics in an apk on the phone without having to reinstall it. Works like a charm.

I never thought about stuff like that either. But it's become quite clear to me that all .apks should be signed apart from system .apks.
Donate to me? - No.
You can donate to your ROM developer or the XDA crew

lol, i'm sooooo donating to them today! and can i use the Auto Sign to sign my widgetlocker file after i edit it? and the SD card, when like, i download a file from my dropbox onto my phone, w/o it being connected, i move it to a folder that is in myu gallery, but when i move it, the file won't show up in my gallery, until i unmount/mount the sd card and it re-scans it. i was kind of asking if there is a way to get the gallery to scan when i open the gallery? i hope that was more useful.. lol

Yes, you can use Stericson's Auto-Sign tool.
I have some issues with that aswell. I use SD Rescan to 'fix' it though.

Flashing Fonts

I'm having problems flashing fonts on my Thunderbolt. On my Eris and Incredible I could flash any font pack through CWM and Amon RA, respectively, but when I tried last night on my Bolt none of the fonts took. I made sure the font packs I flashed were edify fonts, but still no dice. One of my main reasons for rooting is because I hate the stock android font. Can someone please help me out with this? Thanks in advance
This is the link I got my fonts from in case anyone was wondering

I used to use these fonts, also, and could not get them to work now.......so I unzipped the file and pushed the 3 files to /system/fonts.....rebooted and I am good to go. By doing it that way, it does not matter if they are edify or amend.
Just use Font Changer, it's free AND it WORKS =P

That sounds awesome, but I don't know how to do that. I've been using font changer which is free on the market. I'd rather be able to flash them, because flashing things is great and it feeds the addiction, but this gets the job done
try typefresh on the market, only thing it does is back up and restore fonts... unfortunately requires AndExplorer to select fonts to restore but will back up all on its own... I actually like AndExplorer but use RootExplorer most of the time, AndExplorer has a more pleasing GUI however
i just used typefresh to install coconut-darkstar font (the most elegant font anywhere IMO) - worked great. was stuck at "rebooting..." after selecting the font so had to reboot manually but everything flashed fine. as posted earlier it required andexplorer but thats free in the market too.

font changer worked for me too, flashed a few different fonts to find one i liked. just do yourself a favor and hit reboot later when the app prompts you then reboot your phone via other means, the app's reboot function locked up my phone and had to pull the battery.
Anyone know what the default font for our phones are in case I want to go back?

[Q] Lost torch after rooting.

Just rooted my new Note using Dr.Ketan's guide. All went perfectly well and quick. Big thanks to him.
Reinstalled same stock ROM( Austria). Strange thing: The Samsung application Torch has disappeared. Not a big deal, I know there are tons of them in Plays store.
I liked that one because it had 3 levels of brightness. Just curious: did it happen to anyone?
i have same problem.
i think you downgraded to older ROM (maybe base on 2.3.5) which not included torch app
I downgrated to older rom to get it rooted, but after I flashed exactly same rom, that i had before rooting.
Look if you still have the app in /system/app..
What kernel do you have? Some said that app does not work with kernels other than CF-Root and IIRC latest franco..
I have pda N7000XXLC1, PHONE N7000XXLB2, CSC N7000XXLB3,
It is exactly as before rooting.
kernel 2.6.35.7-N7000XXLC1-CL1003701
I can't find system folder. Don't see the torch in Titanium backup
Go to Settings > About Phone and see what's under kernel..
Use a file manager with root privileges (ES File Explorer, Root Explorer etc) and navigate to /system/app and look there
If you don't find it, open your backup zip with 7zip (or any ROM zip that you know it has that app) and copy the apk from there to your /system/app folder using one of the file managers mentioned above and set permissions like the other apks and reboot..
I know, that my rom had it and doesn't have it now..
it is not in /system/app. Sorry for the dumb question, but where my backup zip. suppose to be? thanks
Ohh..I assumed you made a backup before flashing..
I just check an old LB1 ROM I have and there is an apk named torchwidget.apk I think it's what you're looking for, check if you already have it but if you don't I'll upload it for you..
no, I didn't do backup because there is the same rom in Doctors list, so i flashed it after rooting. I checked in my apps, i don't have it. If you upload it, it would be great. thanks
I appologize, I do have it in system/apps, but it doesn't run for some reason
Here is the file:
Download HERE
- Move that file to your sd card
- Use any file manager with root privileges
- Copy and paste that file to /system/app
- Long press on it and choose "Permissions" from the menu
- Set the permissions so it will be like the other apks in that folder "rw-r--r--"
- Reboot your phone and test the widget

Even when you try to add the widget to your home screen?
the permissions are same as for other apps. To move it to home screen i need to see it in applications, right? but i don't have it there. Am i missing something?i see it only in file manager
It might be only a widget without actual app..
Go to Settings > Applications > All, do you see it there?
If so then it's only a widget and not a full app, long press on your home screen and see if it appears under the widgets list..

Stuck on the theme I used before marshmallow update :(

Hey guys.
Hope ur all doing well.
Hope I could find an answear to this problem .. see, I was on (Material Dark) theme whe I was still on lollipop, and after the update I just can't seem to change the theme !
Whenever I try to change it, phone just freezes on 0%(applying theme) then just jumps to 100% (It used to go up gradually) then it gives me the error ( Unfortunately, themes has stopped).
Only the Icons and the wallpaper are changed, but when I go to themes store it show me the DARK MATERIAL is still applyed
I have seen anyone encountering this problem, and I just don't want to do a Factory reset just yet.
Thanks everyone in advance
Did you find a fix? Something similar is happening to me too. I switched themes after upgrading to marshmallow but everytime i reboot, it will revert to the premarshmallow theme even though it shows as uninstalled.

Which theme is that?, look inside: /data/ or use the search option to query the name, this should return all files with the theme name, now you can easily delete those.
