Hi mates,
I hope someone can help me and answer my question...
First of all this is what im using:
HTC HD7 T9292
OS: 7.0.7403.0
firmware: 2250.09.11601.401
hareware: 0002
radiosoft:5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U
radiohard:A.102.0.D4
bootloader: 1.16.2250.0(110866)
chip-soc: 2.2.5.0
i followed some guide by ansar and patched the following '(about 2month ago or something):
RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.70.901.02_Radio_5.64.09.27a_22.43.50.15_NoDo_by_ansar
RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.70.901.02_Radio_5.64.09.27a_22.43.50.15_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
anyway...now I'm trying to patch to mango (7720) but dont really exactly know which guide i shall follow.
I tried this guide twice and failed somehow.. because i wasnt able to unlock mango with U2B2 or Connection setup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271153
But im also not even sure which Connection setup version is the working/correct one. :/ And it seems that 7712 is not longer available anymore.
So the problem i have is that im kinda stuck at 7.0.7403.0 which is unlocked and working great. I just dont know what next... is 7712 somewhere available ? or is there already a way where u can just update to 7720 und unlock after updating?
So if anyone could left me a hand and help me out.. that would be awesome.
The thing is that i dont want to flash risky ROM's where your phone may become a brick u know. :]
And sorry for my english. :S
i know of two ways...
one. the way of ansar.
ansar's [XAP] Update to Mango 7720 RTM, here.
for OEM drivers, use this, here.
two. Custom ROM route.
tutorial, here.

That first one is the one i'm trying all the time. I dont want to change RSPL/HSPL stuff like explained in two. And ansars post says:
>> You can try even with a PreNoDo 7004 stock ROM
>> there is no need for RSPL/HSPL installation
Im starting with 7.0.7004 - RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.16.401.01_Radio_5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE
Then unlock, get connection setup (v1.5 cuz 1.12 doesnt work) and other updates from febuary (which is still prenodo or nodo i guess), update to 7403 which is still unlocked and them im stuck there. then i can do the update to 7720 but it wont keep unlocked. Is it possible that 7712 is not available anymore? Or would you be so kind and tell me what are the next steps then if i dont have 7712?
i, personally, haven't ever tried ansar's way nor flashed any of his ROMs, actually.
i don't understand his posts.
so, i am afraid i don't think i could be of more help.
i have just gone the Custom ROM route. seemed easier.
i wrote a tutorial about it, actually, that is how easy i found it.
link is in my signature, if interested.

I want to flash a clean stock ROM on my T-Mobile HD7 and I need to know which one to go for ?
the leaked Nodo ROM or the one posted by Ansar.
(In the Bootloader it says 'Security Unlocked' on the top of the phone)
Is the Goldcard method the only way and I want to know after I flash this ROM would it be updateable in future via Zune ?
Also where can I find the tutorials where I can learn more about this ?
Doing a search on the forums would yield directions and information on everything you've asked.
How to Flash a new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876451
As for stock ROMs, the European ROMs (unbranded ones) from HTC, would be as stock as you can get. This would come stock with only HTC apps installed, which of course, can be easily removed. This would be the NoDo one posted. You aren't going to find a true stock app, since there are none available.
The branded T-Mobile ROMs of course, come with some T-Mobile apps (that can be easily removed), and very little customization. Most important, they include preset configuration settings for T-Mobile services such as data connectivity (though this can be configured to any HTC phone with the HTC Connection Setup app), and most importantly, the latest software radios for phone use in the United States.
If you choose a device with radios outside the USA or made for a different network, you may notice varied battery life, call reception and quality, and varied data throughput.
Because you say your device is security unlocked, you should have no trouble installing a ROM for the HD7 from any region, without goldcard. I think.
original t-mobile rom for hd7
i have htc hd7 changed my rom to HD7_TMOUS_2.20.841.02_Radio_5.65.09.11a_22.44.50.1 5_NoDo, by ansar and tried to do chevronwp7 and i think i should have done chevron first before the rom. i dont know if there is a way to unlock my phone with chevron with the nodo rom already installed but thinking i should revert back to original rom then chevron it but where can i get that rom since i had t-mobile. or is there a way for me to unlock with chevronwp7 even with the installed TMOUS_2.20.841.02_Radio_5.65.09.11a_22.44.50.1 5_NoDo, by ansar (no worries i figured it out , no need for reply)

First windows phone ever, skilled in android as well as older phones (think motorola seem editing, LOL) I just have no idea about this. I recently bought mine on craigslist and the guy added the nodo update like 2 days before I bought it, How did you revert to stock tmobile and chevronwp7 it? I want to sideload apps!
Hi
I'm using tmobile hd7 and successfully flashed a Telstra nodo rom, however I am missing my custom ringtones notificatons and homebrew apps, has anyone been able to unlock after nodo?
MS made it clear that NoDo will patch the security flaw that was exploited by the chevron team. So for now there is no hack after NoDo. But its all a matter of time before a hack comes from someone. Hopefuuly its sooner than later as i do miss the custom ringtones and registry hacks.
Microsoft should just allow free XAP files to be put on phones...
just put security checks in to safeguard files that are paid for on the market place should be nothing too hard for Microsoft to do...
But Im loving NoDo and my hacks that I done before are still there just cant edit them after now...
Like the **it Yahoo search page on IE and some custom colours
There is a way to have NoDo and still have your phone unlocked. But you have to unlock it at pre-Nodo (7004 or 7008) and then wait for your official update throught Zune. Here is the thread:

I have two HD7 both were unlocked with Chevron, I flashed one with the Telstra rom and the unlock with all my apps were gone. But the other one with official nodo from t-mobile kept the apps and the unlock. So I can confirm that you need to unlock before nodo to keep the unlock.

The phone were unlocked before pre-nodo, don't know if that makes a different.

+1, unlocked and nodo, working perfectly.
You must reflash your phone with a old Shopping Rom without nodo, now patch with nodo and use nodo patch from Forum. Now you can make update with zune and you will not lose your patched phone pn ME tomorrow and will give you needed Files when you not found that

This worked for me!
I updated to NoDo without unlocking and was bummed so I did the following:
1. Flash a pre-nodo unbranded rom, you should find one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876451
2. Unlock your device, here are instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938106
3. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW STEPS TO PREVENT DEVICE FROM RE-LOCKING!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913748
4. Connect to Zune and update to NoDo. Unlock should stay in place, it worked for me! Good luck!

Thank you for your help. This thread is so helpfull.
Im a newb, I have a lot of questions about doing this, please be nice.
I bought HD7 on amazon and its sim unlocked. I had the nodo update, copy paste update installed on my device, before i could developer unlock it with chevron. Im in a great need for tethering so i want the device to be developer unlocked, so i could use some cracks available in the internet.
My first question is, I want to restore my old rom so if any problem occur i could reflash my device with original HTC rom. Is there any way i could do that?
Secondly, if I flash the htc rom with those listed in the thread (with HTC_europe in specific), will this have an effect on the warranty of the product?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Thanks for the info guys! I guess i'm going to start going through the tutorial now
Joey
Oh and does anyone know where I can find the unbranded roms now? The thread seems to have been deleted/edited.

I think that the links you posted are for the ones who have NoDo or below but I already have the mango final
easiest way to 'jailbreak' your WP7 device is with a Custom ROM.
check out the tutorial in my signature.
i already tried it but when I get to the step where I have to use task 00 I get an error..
but an another question is whether it is possible to flash original nodo over original Mango and if yes how do I do that?
I had Official Mango too. Used the same signature links last week and everything works. Win7 x64, HTC HD7

yes, it is possible to flash a pre-Mango Shipped ROM specific to your device, but only if your OSPL isn't 5.x

Well thank you for your reply!
I am absolutely confused!
I just want to upgrade to your's intrinsic 4.0.1 T-Mobile US edition.
So... following the instructions under your signature, first i am trying to downgrade to a different radio with HD7_RUUWrapper_00 (Ex. 1.20.531.01 or 1.54.531.02 or 3.01.531.02) but the bar on my phone stucks at 0.00% and then i have the error 262. tried different pcs and different radios.
Is it necessary to change the radio before doing that upgrade?
And is it possible to make that update via zune? (i mean to copy your's intrinsic 4.0.1 T-Mobile US edition files at some specific zune's folder and complete then the procedure some-how?
Thank you once again!

if you have Bootloader 1.54, you don't need to downgrade OSPL first with SPL_Signed.nbh
though, you'll need to XSPL before you can flash a Custom ROM or Unsigned Radios.
i do not believe it is possible to do that via Zune.
You bring up the configuration of your phone
Hi,
Firstly apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere - I have had a look and couldn't find anything specific to my needs.
Basically, my question is...Is there a custom ROM for the HD7 which consists ONLY of Interop Unlock and no other changes from stock functionality?
I am looking to be able to use WP7 Root Tools on my HD7 but I do not want to use one of these crazy custom ROMS - no offense to the guys who put in the hard work to make 'em, it's just not what I'm looking for - I just want a stock Mango ROM, but I want it to be interop-unlocked.
Here's the progress I've made so far:
-My device is currently unbranded Europe (was previously O2UK but flashed an unbranded NoDo ROM back in the day) upgraded all the way to 8107. This means that I'm on a bootloader version > 5.10. Fortunately then, I am capable of using this method to downgrade my bootloader as I have a 401 (European) phone. I have the original unbranded NoDo ROM which I flashed when it first came out, which should have a low enough bootloader version.
-After that, I should be capable of flashing an RSPL/HSPL to my device, although I'm not sure exactly how to go about that. The instructions in this thread seem like a good place to start.
-Once that is achieved, I could theoretically grab the 7720 ROM from here, and edit it to include Interop Unlock. Then, flash it to my phone, run WP7 Root Tools, and I'm good to go! This is obviously the part I'm most likely to have issues with, I'm not exactly a ROM chef, and it doesn't look very beginner friendly
Hence my question: Is there a custom ROM already out there (presumably it would have to have Mango v1 drivers) which will be as close to stock as possible but with InteropUnlock so I can run WP7RootTools?
OR: Can I simplify these steps in any way?
Thanks for any replies... meanwhile, I'm going to continue my research!
Yeah...I'd say your on the right track. Use ansars SLSPL method for Europe devices to downgrade your SPL and using Shadows tutorial to install RSPL/HSPL. You can also get the 2nd rom needed for the SLSPL method from Shadows tutorial. The hard part is going to be adding in an unlock to the rom. I know this isn't the answer that your wanting but your best bet would be to find a custom rom that is as close to stock as possible!
Heh, thanks. I figured as much.
Well, it turns out that this needn't necessarily be as complicated as all that - I've just discovered that my student App Hub registration is still live (I could have sworn it had run out, as I was unable to dev-unlock my phone) but since updating to that latest Tango which just became available today, I am able to dev-unlock my phone again!
So, slightly different question: are dev-unlocks only possible with the most recent firmware? (Surely unlikely given the current status of firmware rollouts)
The reason I was unable to unlock my phone previously was possibly because of registry tweaks made down the line - I kept getting "error check the phone's time and date are correct" when the time and date were obviously correct.
If it is still possible to dev-unlock a device running Mango, then I can simply use ansar's SLSPL method to go straight to Mango 7720, dev-unlock, Interop-unlock, install WP7RootTools and mission accomplished
EDIT: Well, there goes that plan - while my device is currently on 401 (Europe firmware) it is not actually a 401 device (as it was previously o2UK branded) so I can't use ansar's method....time to go and find me a USB Y-cable!
