[CM7.1 LOCK] Ice Cream Sandwich Ring Lock MOD [12/10/11] - Android Themes

This is a Mod of the CM7.1 Ring Lock that I made using some images from the ICS SDK.
NOTE: Before you flash you need to make sure you have the Ring Lock available in your CM7.1 Rom, by going to Menu, CyanogenMod Settings, Lockscreen, Style Options, Lockscreen Style.
Just flash in recovery and you should be good to go.
Use Metamorph or zipthemer to apply the morphs.
Flash at your own risk make a backup before you continue.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog:
12/10/11
Added smaller rings plus bigger icons should now look pretty close to the real deal. The changes were made to the following files: "ICS_Lock_CM7.1-signed.zip and Morph" and "ICS_Lock_Framework_CM7.1_Nightly_HDPI_Only.zip"
Updated screenshot, the one on the right represents the files above mentioned.
11/15/11
Updated the file "ICS_Lock_Framework_CM7.1_Nightly_HDPI_Only.zip" to work with the new nightly's. This is for the people who can't get the morphs or recovery patcher to work. As stated before this will replace your framework-res.apk completely.
It is confirmed that the current morphs and recovery patchers work with the new singe Ring unlock option.
11/02/11
Fixed all invalid Morph files.
10/31/11
Added an HDPI version for the latest CM Nightly's. "ICS_Lock_Framework_CM7_Nightly_HDPI_Only"
This will replace your framework-res.apk completely, so make a backup.
10/30/11
Fixed the error in "ICS_Lock_CM7.1_Morph.zip"
10/29/11
Added a big ring version for people who preferred the bigger default Rings.
Added a version where the selected ring is bigger to look more like the default ICS lockscreen.
Added a white lock version of a merged framework from Sonnysekhon ICS Morph with the bigger selected rings HDPI only.
10/26/11
Made default Rings a little smaller.
Added White, Green, and Blue Rings "Flash in recovery only"
Added "ICS_Framework_CM7.1_HDPI_Only-signed.zip" which is my White Rings with Blue Pressed Ring Lock Mod and Sonnysekhon's ICS framework merged into one flashable zip.
10/24/11
Changed vibrate icon to an actual vibrate icon. Thanks "tyler1234567"
10/23/11
Added Morphs for people who can not get the flashables working.
Use Metamorph or zipthemer to apply.
10/21/11
Should now work in landscape..need testers.
No longer have yellow selected ring when set on vibrate.
Signed the zip files for less error in flashing.
10/20/11
Initial release
Choose between Green, White, or Blue pressed Rings.
Giving Credits to:
tyler1234567 for the vibrate icon.
SonnySekhon for the ICS framework.
What file is which:
ICS_Lock_CM7.1_BlueRing-signed.zip: Blue Rings
ICS_Lock_CM7.1_GreenRing-signed.zip: Green Rings
ICS_Lock_CM7.1_BluePressed-signed.zip and Morph: White Rings With Blue Highlight
ICS_Lock_CM7.1_GreenPressed-signed.zip and Morph: White Rings With Green Highlight
ICS_Lock_CM7.1_WhitePressed-signed.zip and Morph: White Rings With White Highlight
ICS_Lock_CM7.1-signed.zip and Morph: Ice Cream Sandwich like lockscreen.
ICS_Lock_Big_Rings_CM7.1-signed.zip: Big White Default and Selected Rings.
ICS_Lock_Framework_CM7.1_Nightly_HDPI_Only: Ice Cream Sandwich like lockscreen plus Sonnysekhon's ICS framework. [Will replace your framework-res.apk completely so make a backup.]
If you want to have the Ice Cream Sandwich sounds, you can go to my other thread here.

What am I doing wrong? flashed in recovery twice, both times I am still getting original LS. Do I need to disable something or wipe DK?

What is in the "zip" file in the patch directory and how can i open it?

I have always preferred the sliding tabs, even after CM7 introduced the circles. However, this is a really slick implementation with the ICS graphics. I will be using this as my default for sure. Thanks for posting.

I am on nightly 227 and I already was using ring. I tried switching to something else and the back and I still get the default cm ring lockscreen.

@DameonAndMeagan This is awesome and beautiful. Thank you! Looks awesome on my Defy.
Edit: I see you've updated to include different colors for the pressed icons. Should have held off on installing this for another 5 minutes I guess.

If you like CWM, 4EXT is awesome, many more abilities and I have yet to have a n issue with it yet. I will try flashing a CWM recovery and try that.
Update.....flashed CWM and still no go. Not sure what I am doing that no one else is. It seems pretty straight forward.

I flashed it in recovery. Now I go to CM7 lockscreen settings and the ring mode doesn't even appear in the style popup..

So if I already have cm6.1.1 installed, can I just install the Gingerbreadxml.rar and framework-res.apk for the theme to work? Or do I have to reinstall cm6.1.1 with GM theme built in? Thanks
You could, but I would just flash the rom zip over what you have as it has a few extras like the gingerbread browser and phone apk.
Nice find, brswatt. Finally a full theme that doesn't break my tethering. Updating my thread to point to this one.

You could, but you wouldn't have the gingerbread dialer.
So just flash the whole thing. It doesn't hurt.
Then just put the xml on your card.
Here is a LiveWallpapers.apk to adb push or include in that rom before you flash. I replaced the cyanogenmod wallpaper with the nexus s wallpaper.

Well, when the flashable zip thread pops up in the themes forum, you can link it there, or I'll link it in the first post.
edit: I posted it here
wow, many thanks. Im going to try out right now
I put the gingerbread.xml in the cmparts.apk, so we don't need to save it to sdcard/cmtheme.
About the flashable, by the time you run the cleanup.sh, /system might be not mounted. Nevermind, files will be overwritten anyway. But I still think files delete and set-perm should be done within update-script.
EDIT: File updated. Sorry I didn't know it only loads internal theme files that contain the word "STOCK".
Nice theme, but is there a way to get the old notification pull down back? I like the dark themed pulldown better.
Edit: Nevermind...the CMTheme changed it.http://media.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon6.gif
brswattt, I fixed the framework-res power notification dropdown icons to all black:

[THEMES] Cognition 4.1+: Gingerbread, Honeycomb

Make sure you backup before flashing in case something goes wrong. I am not responsible in any way if you brick your phone. You accept all risk that comes with flashing your phone.
With this theme I decided to go for a more genuine GB look. Which is why there are more files to flash. Also after some trial and error and help from people around the forum I finished my bootanimation.
Here are some GB themed apps. These are not required for the theme to work but do make the theme look good as a whole. *note the Dialer were pulled from Serendipity and can be found on the Serendipity site.
All of the files are Clockwork Mod flashable except the "Icons and Dock.zip"
*NOTE*
This theme will not change the look of your launcher. There are Gingerbread styled icons and dock attached if you want to theme your launcher. This is not a CWM file. Download it, unzip it and pick what you want.

Guide to Themeing
The attached guide is information I use to theme the Cognition ROMs. If there is additional information that you would like to know you can ask me and I'll try to answer.
Honeycomb Theme
Attached is the Honeycomb theme that received of 70% of the vote in the poll. This Honeycomb theme has been ported from PuffinNugz's theme he created.
*UPDATE
The battery icons in PuffinNugz's theme didn't port over properly. I tried everything I could think of to get them to work but could not. So what I have done is recolor the GB battery icons to match the blues in the rest of the HC theme.
*Note
If you want your lock screen to look like the one in the screenshot you have to use the puzzle lock in the settings.
Hmmm, I'm using Cog. 3.03 and it seems that this theme only changed certain properties of the theme. For example the notification bar is from this theme, but when in settings or any other menu, the font color and type is still from my previous theme.
Otherwise great work, thanks

I observed this as well during testing. I had flashed one of the other themes available to Cog3 and found that after applying my theme that certain things were still unchanged. This is due to the apps such as settings, dialer, browser and so forth were also themed by the developer. My theme only changes the framework and twframework files in the rom itself. Not in each individial app...for now.
Ahhhh, I see. So I'm guessing that flashing a fresh copy of Cog. 3.03 and applying your theme should work?
Thanks.

Cog2 uses JI6/JJ4 framework.
Cog3 is based of the Rogers 2.2 and uses JL1 framework. Other users tried to use my other GB theme on Cog3 and it didn't work. So I made one that would. Supply and demand is what will drive my themes mostly.

Which one of the Cog2 themes are you referring to? I know there are differences in the extended power menu and the status bar pull down. I'm not aware at anything else blatantly different. The reason behind the icons being different is that I didn't have new icons when I made for first two themes. If there is a request to update the old themes with the newer icons I will update them. Like I said before supply and demand.

I suppose I should have specified in the OP (will fix). The icon and dock zip file is just that, a zip file. download it and unzip the file to see the icons and dock. You will have to manually apply each one.

Standard Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk. I assume no liability for you jacking your phone. That being said, none of these should mess your phone up.
These roms are designed for those running Lightning rom. It will be easier for me to maintain a separate themes thread and roms thread and it will keep the rom thread neat and clean. Feel free to PM me or just comment if you have any ideas for upcoming themes/ fixes/ whatever... Thanks everyone and enjoy!!!
To flash:
1) Place on SD Card
2) Flash using CWR
3) These should not require wiping anything.
3.3+Themes
Red Redemption:
This will revert your theme back to the original red theme (nevermind the updater script...it still says you are flashing frozen lightning...forgot to change before uploading)
Frozen Lightning:
1) Blue Custom icons in the status bar
2) Anything that was red in lightning will be made blue.
3) Blue themed market.

thanks for your hard work i tried all 3 themes heres what i noticed
red- can't say much its your running one
green- some of the framework is still red, also the alarm on the taskbar is off color to the other greens.

As mentioned above, some of the framework on Green Lightning is still red. Mainly the selection colors. Menu and app buttons are green but when you go to select something it's red. Call button is green but End Call is red. The wifi and bluetooth icons are the old versions... if you could update those to the newer looking icons, that would be great. That's what I've noticed so far.
Really liking your ROM and the work you're putting into it. Thanks.. sending you a nice donation. Take you and your wife/girlfriend out for a nice steak dinner.
Looking forward to the changes.
Edit: I just realized the call end button is suppose to be red... never mind.

Did you install the green theme after the red without restoring a backup of the original Rom, or re-installing the Rom before installing the green theme? If you installed the green directly after the red it may just be left over because that wasn't themed in the green theme.

v3.3.1 comes already themed red. Flashed the Green Lightning theme over it which is suppose to make whatever was red into green... which it does but some of the framework is still red.
The original post was a wip for the green theme. I will get this fixed either tonight or tomorrow for everyone.

1. How to change back to Red theme after flash Frozen/Green theme?
2. Where is the lighting wallpaper that came with the ROM? Try to change it back after replace wallpaper with something else.
I love your ROM!

Did you make a backup before you flashed? What exactly did you do? Did you flash the red theme back over the green theme and now they're mixed together?
The lightning wallpaper is posted in the first post of the LightningRom thread where the screenshots are... Just save the image to your phone and set it as the wallpaper.

Thanks for quick reply.
My bad. I did not made a backup before I flash to Frozen/Green theme.
I just feel Red theme looks better and try to find a way to get it back.

I can toss together a "revert back to red theme" update but it will take me a minute....also, the wallpaper is found when you go under HTC wallpapers...its the one without a screenshot.

Since the rom is already themed red you should be able to just flash right back over it. Boot into clockworkmod recovery, wipe the cache partition and the dalvik cache and then install whatever rom version you want.... 3.3, 3.3.1. That will put you back to a red theme or (you can flash the red & grey theme) after you flash the rom first. I have a guide for installing roms, themes... on the Thunderbolt.

+1 for me. I appreciate your work into these themes but getting your desktop setup again.. not fun. I'd prefer just to flash back a red. ZIP.

Until that is done, you can just reflash the original rom without wiping anything...it will work just fine.

When I applied Frozen Lightning I still have the red wallpaper, and I cannot find the blue wallpaper anywhere.
Still torn whether I like the red or blue better though. >.>

Is anyone else using Green Lightning and missing the date/month/year from the pull down notification bar along with "verizon wireless"?... Both areas are blank for me.
