Brand new 3D, dual core, first dual channel RAM phone = 6 month old single core phone + extra cash.
Sounds about right to me.
(Not that I am saying I want to trade my Thrill for an Infuse)

I'm surprised you got so many takers in the Infuse forum.
I just don't see it, a phone that arguably out specs the SGS II as an equal trade for a phone that arguably does not out spec the SGS.
I think you'll enjoy the Thrill, welcome aboard. When you get it give Thriller a try, its awesome.

Edit: whoops my bad, that was an Inspire. That trade I do see as equal.
I would have thought about it. I've had the Thrill for about a week now and I'm ready to throw it in the toilet. Might make the battery last a little bit longer. I haven't installed anything on it or set anything up, and I still have to charge it twice a day. I can quite literally watch the battery % drain.

I've noticed my battery lasts considerably longer than it did during the first week- week and a half that I owned the phone. It use to drain 30-40% just sitting overnight. Now it MIGHT lose 1-2% overnight.

Underclocking did nothing for me. I gave up on that after a couple days of no improvement. The only things different on my phone from stock is that I removed all the att bloat and several LG services. I rethemed it, deodexed it and performed a zipalign. Oh and changed the io scheduler. A couple other little things here and there.
A HUGE thing for my battery life is keeping my wifi on at home. I get such a weak data signal inside my house the radio is constantly trying to find a better signal. This is a huge battery drain.

[Q] When to Battery Calibrate

Do i need to do a battery calibration when switching between the extended battery and the regular? Depending on my work day i take a different batter with me but the extended seems to be dropping as fast at the standard one. I am running Blurry 1.3 ROM.
IMO its just a placebo effect

I had never run one before but when I stitched to blurry 1.3 I was losing 10% battery life every thirty minutes while not in use!! I was told to run the calibration on it and boy did it help, now I drop ten or so every hour/hour and a half with heavy usage, and only a percent or two when not in use.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Absolutely. Placebo? The battery stats are for the stock battery. You put a bigger battery in, and you don't think you need to tell your system?
Don't calibrate and enjoy the same battery life you got on the regular battery.

Which rom has the best battery life?

Currently I am running Liberty test build 48. It seems to last me around 6-8 hours on light use but I can't live like this forever. Light use is not why i bought this phone Lets face it. With heavy use every rom I have used has been around 35% after around 2-4 hours of heavy use with 4g enabled. All the reviews gave the bionic great battery life reports. But this is poor, I live with a charger in my pocket.
So my question is which rom are you using and what are you battery life experiences.?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Stock. Debloated.
Battery life? More than 6 hours.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Keeping 4g enabled all the time is what's killing your battery. All of the 4g phones have the issue but from what I've read Bionic is the only one out with decent life.

I have never turned 4G off on my thunderbolt or bionic.
My bionic stock got about 20-30 hours with moderate use. With the TH3ORY roms I get about 8-10 hours.
The Thunderbolt got 6-8 hours stock, and 10-12 on the bamf roms

No task killers, LTE enabled but on wifi most the day. Normal use. I got 20-30 hours on stock. Do your research I'm not the only one.
Coming from the thunderbolt I was very impressed.

I do restart my phone every morning and keep the text and things cleaned out.
Just like a computer the better the maintenance the better the performance.
Also as I understand it don't run task killers, its like pulling the plug on your computer over and over and then wondering why everything is unstable.
Also isn't gingerbread built to close apps if they aren't in use after a set amount of time?

6-8 hours isn't good
I've used most Android based phones and all of the Iphones. Loved the utility of the Androids but loved the battery life of the iphones. UNTIL the Bionic.
Based on my Thunderbolt experience I opted for the extended battery for the Bionic. Don't really need it. I use my phone almost totally for data and GPS. Easily 10 hours of heavy usage on standard battery. Not sure about the extended battery.
If you are only getting 6-9 hours on regular usage you really need to trim your running apps or return the phone. In my experience that is WAY under what your expectations should be. My best guess would be about 12-15 hours.
I should be getting mine in the next couple days and I've been curious about the use of 4G.
Is there any reason to have it on for the typical phone features? Such as phone calls, texting and idle. Unless you're a really heavy data user, it seems like you could have 4G off for a fairly significant portion of the day. Am I overestimating the power saved from having 4G off?
I haven't decided whether or not I plan on using any of the current roms, but I'm definitely not going to use one if that's the kind of battery life I can expect. I'd definitely like to hear more input about battery life from those using roms.
I have the 2760mah extended battery. Running d3blurr3d beta4. Im currently testing my battery to see how long it lasts. Right now im at 24 hours and I have 37% battery left. Battery life has been insane coming from the tbolt. Im in the moderate to heavy use bracket.

D3blurr3d or r3blurr3d?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC
Well...
Having tried all the custom roms out there I can say without a doubt that d3blurr3d (currently running beta4 but beta6 is current) has the best battery life. I agree the r3blurr3d ate my battery alive but this d3blurr3d is a whole new story. Off battery with moderate usage for 12 hours I sit at 53% right now with the extended battery...used to be below 10.
How does it compare to your stock experience?
Where is reblurred at? Saw it before but nit recently. Lately just r3blurr3d 1.7 or the liberty teat build on andirc#bionic
Edit: nevermind found it in deblurred on page 50 in rootzwiki forum

Stock debloated, 10 to 15 hours if I'm in a good coverage area, if the phone is looking for a signal 2 to 4 hours.

RE: Battery Vivid Life
Mine has been absolutely horrid. With moderate use I'm lucky if it lasts 3 hours. To be honest, though, I didn't let it charge completely when I first got it - I was too excited. I'm actually recalibrating it now in hopes of improving it.

The notification light blinks yellow, and a big battery image and a message pop up on the screen when the battery level hits 10%, then again at 5%. It's pretty obvious. Also, the phone shuts down some background functions such as data syncing to conserve battery power.
Full on data streaming of my podcast or Rdio on Hspa drains my battery in 5 hours or so. With sporadic web browsing in there, just listening to cached music and podcast I stretch it past 8 hours. Better then my desire by 2/3 hours

Yeah, I thought my GS2 was good, but this is definitely better, especially considering LTE.
I finally ran it down to low battery the other day because an app ran away with my processor and drained my battery in the background. It did this in my locker while I was at the gym. When I finally pulled it out of my pants, it was super hot and down 20% lower than usual for that time of day. I restarted the phone and still managed to make it through the rest of the day and night before it died, but just barely.
Runaway apps is one of the things I have always hated about android, but that was the only time it happened since I bought the phone, so I can live with it.

Yeah, I'd read reviews that the battery life wasn't spectacular - but this is downright confusing! Do you think I ruined it by just using right out of the box without letting it do a few charge cycles (again I was TOO excited, the most excited I'd ever been about a phone)?

They're basically the same phone except the battery, and now there is a $118 kit for the Razr to adapt the MAXX battery, so why not save the money and get the MAXX right off the bat.
Or get the last developer phone Verizon will likely every get.
