A few weeks ago, i rooted my incredible s, and s-off, and flashed the android revolution hd without sense 3.0 features. The rom was good, but a little slow with the sense 3.0 features. so i flashed [ROM SENSE 3.5] EhabFG Android 2.3.5 Runnymed V1.5, and it started with that rom: sometimes my phone just reboots! it happens around 2 or 3 times a day. the battery is not hot. i tryed virtuous unity, and now nik's trinity ROM, but the problem is still there. with each rom i wiped the device. what is the problem?
kernel: 2.6.35.14
help is really appreciated!

you can flash your stock rom it will be stable
Your phone probably can't handle the undervolting
Install incredicontrol and raise the voltage slightly (~50mv) to see if that helps

Same with overclocking. Some peoples can't handle much while others can go to 2GHz no problem.

Both of them are great ROM but Ice cold sandwich has a better support and is updated faster at this time. Maybe it's because it's still in beta and it won't last, but you have more chance to have an update than with Virtuous Quattro.

would that slow it down since its actualy download the HQ version?
While i loved quattro, the camera was not always need but annoying when i didn't have it. The youtube made me leave it. Everything else was nice. I was waiting for a update to go back into it. It seems like everyone isn't having a working camera.
My GF on CM9 with her NexusS has working camera and youtube. makes me mad.
The youtube LQ/HQ problem is due to the video acceleration (and decoding), which is a problem universal with all unofficial HTC ICS roms and probably non-HTC phones too.
That is what the rage about the qualcomm OMX core libraries is all about.. it was used in previous platform releases in gingerbread, froyo.
For videos, Ice Cold is already halfway there - the OMX libraries are installed and working in the latest version, but code must be implemented before it can be fully working.
With the camera, it is always a work in progress mostly by twistedumbrella and nk111 whom continued to develop on the camera after zbwu86 released it. Front camera is supported in Ice Cold. Right now, the only issue is to figure out what is the cause between the glitches in photos half the times then we can all move on with a fully working camera.
Thx for your quick response guys. I am going to try Ice Cold Sandwich now as it's not in alpha version now and stable for daily use. Specially thx to kaijura

Yes you can use Ice cold sandwich without kernel change but I reccomend to use Tiamat kernel for smooth operation and you have to flash Tiamat kernel by putting zip card in SD card and flash as same as ROM flashing but with S-OFF only.

I installed the Ice cold sandwich to my Incs with hboot 2.00.000 unlocked from htcdev.com but it looks really unstable and laggy. When i updated the kernel with Tiamat_IncS-v1.1.4 the unlock button crashed. Is this all due to htcdev unlock ? Am i need real s-off ?
Thank you.

first ROM then kernel, because ROMs themselves have kernels in them so if you flash the kernel then the ROM your kernel will get over-written by the one that comes with the ROM

i tried the one you used and had the same problem, then i flashed with Tiamat_Vivo-v022112 and it was stable.. try it, it should help
and no need for a full wipe for flashing kernels (though you can wipe the dalvick cache if you like)

Hello members out there.!
I have one simple but still hard question,
At the moment i've tried a lot of ROMS for my Optimus 2x
But not all that stable and atm im looking for a stable ROM, not a phone that keeps
Getting random shutdowns or low battery perfomance.
So please share your experience here with your ROMS and tell me which one is the most stable
Greetings,
Micronuub.
this question is here many times.
you have basically 2 choices - stock or cyanogenmiod.
i think the most stable is stock 20q ROM with some better kernel. it only has some problems - few RAM, it becomes laggy after about 120hours of use, but it still works and you can reboot it manually. i dont like when i oversleep in the morning because CM7 ROM randomly, once in month, drains all battery over night and alarm doesnt work in the morning.
if you dont need 100% reliability from stock rom. i recommend 99% reliability of cm7(temasek build) with ram hack kernel.

Hi,
I use DjangoManouche ROM and I can say that it's very great.
Actually I'm testing v1.3beta+Gueste1.6OC.
Fast and smooth.
i tried new one ROM, but it not all that stable for my 2X.
Now i use ROM Nova HD RC17-30.
What version?
Use Temasek KANG builds until Tegra binaries are popped out for cm9 work
Hello,
Try the v20q by flix123 plus the v20q pack. I think it's taking the stock roms to another level of stability and performance. You can put the spica1234's sr3r2 on top plus the pp10r and you have smooth, long lasting stock experience!
The gueste kernel is also very. very good.
I also suggest is to reboot the phone after each flash because with me it reboots when i enter the market if i put in there more than one flashing at once.
cheers
I am using alien revolution 2.1 FINAL

How to flash DM if I'm using G.Hybrid Revolution?
After install DJ, is it necessary to flash kernel?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24850782
Install as usual with cwm. It will be start aroma installer on which you can choose option, like kernel, with GUI.
Also choose full wipe.

Hi,
I was also using CM 7.2 RC1 and I switched to Revolution HD 2.3.0 and I dont intend to go back to CM 7.2 yet.
The battery life seems better with RHD and I am one of the few who likes Sense I guess.
The weather widget is pretty cool and I love the touch and focus camera app.
I also tried Nik Trinity... ROM but I went back to RHD for the better battery life.
I never tried an ICS ROM yet. Any suggestion ?
Signature. Everything runs better than expected.
Was running IceColdSandwhich and the ROM is great, but needed something more stable and didn't force the phone to restart every other time I tried to load Google Maps.
I'm on Android Revolution 2.3.0 now
Having been using Playground ICS for some weeks now. Switched from IceColdSandwich which is fast too but not as stable as Playground IMO.
Im still on trinity sensation XL, I find it fast, stable and it has excellent battery life.
I like to have everything rock stable, and everything working properly, which is why im still on sense 3.5 since about December when I joined XDA and rooted my phone.
Next on my hit list are playground ics and Virtuous Primmodonna. Any suggestions and opinions as to which one people like better?
Also, I find miui and other aosp gingerbread roms a little choppy or something, for some reason I get the impression that sense is much smoother, especially on a custom sense 3+ rom

ICS AOSP works surprisingly good considering I always prefer GB Sense ROM in the past. Current state of Playground ICS is very positive. Twistedumbrella is very active and new build is almost daily. I strongly suggest you give it a try.

Twistedumbrella got 6 builds for the past 10 days! And the latest build seems to finally fix the camcorder. Be warned, you'll be real busy!
How's the battery on playground? Does it have any issues that ice cold 7.2 doesn't have?

Hi,
I tested some versions in the time :
Stock ROM
Virtuous Affinity
Virtuous Quattro
MIUI (unable to connect network, and some bugs)
IceColdSandwich
I plan to test others like Primadonna when some issues will be corrected. And, why not try again a fully functionnal MIUI version. I'm looking too the Playground ICS.
I wanna stay on the ICS Roms ! ^^
After using IceColdSandwich for quite a long time and trying Virtuous Primadora, I finally got back to GB and Sense. I prefer Sense than AOKP or AOSP and even if I thought Virtuous Primadora was really stable and it had the best battery life I ever had, I missed the camera and went back to GB. I used Virtuous Affinity for a while, I liked it a lot but went to Trinity because it is more customizable. XxXPachaXxX finally made the ROM I wanted, Affinity with more customization : RunnyMede Xtreme v2. I'm using it since then.
Hi. If the same thread is already exists, please forgive me. Been trying to find similar thread for about 3-4 pages here, but none found.
If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

Sense 3.6 is the official one and pretty much the best at 3d stuff, so maybe the game doesn't run well on the phone, simple as that, or you can try and see how it performs on JB, but i don't think it will be better...
