[MIUI]Can we flash the P990 ROM to P970? Or flash from other phone's ROM?
P990 with dual-core CPU, and the specification are completely different with P970. So, it's not compatible with our phone...

Then you should wait for it... Every LG device, or every android device, won't compatible each other, for example P990 and P970. So don't try it.

haha.I have a mistake that I think their button are just similar and wondering there is a chance to flash it. I think I am totally wrong.
besides, Go launcher EX with NOVA is still a problem of battery drain and lag on many games.
However, I promise, I won't try to flash MIUI before official release. Thanks for all of you
Same buttons ain't mean anything.. lol. Glad you dint try.
Even the alpha versions of under development Rom can brick your device so trying to flash a completely another device 's Rom is quite pointless.
However I also wish we could have MIUI Rom soon as possible.
Let's vote... (again) but this time for sandwich, also don't expect to much

What is the CFW?
Who can tell me?
hope you successfully ported ICS on SU660...that will ease out a lot of SU660 users problem of finding a custom ROM(those that dont want the stock ROM)
why can't we use "normal" optimus 2x ROMs on this su660 Variant? i got it yesterday and i'm a lil bit disappointed

I would appreciate ur work too
I have a Su660 korea set. But i'm trying very hard to find the IMEI number for the phone. Could someone tell me where is the IMEI number for it. As i'm trying to unlock my phone to get it to work on a US sim card. Any help will be appreciated.
I have a P990, so this may not apply, but....
The IMEI can usually be found in at least 4 places.
1) A sticker on the box it came in.
2) A sticker underneath the battery.
3) Settings/About Phone/Status/IMEI
4) By dialling *#06#

I don't have the box anymore. The sticker underneath the battery do not have it. It only has the S/N which is not the IMEI. Settings and so forth doesn't show it at all which i don't get it why.
Dialing *#06# doesn't work for me too apparently
That is weird. I searched a bit, and several articles dealing with IMEI on the SU660 state you should see it by dialling *#06#.
Stock ROM should use it, CM should use it. Are you running some special ROM or a custom dialler?
EDIT: You can also try some apps, search for "Show IMEI" in Google Play.

Sorry my ignorance but... he needed to flash that phone right?
If that is possible, why we still having people here with bricked devP880's ???
If he can put that phone running on CM10, why we can't even flash a regular .kdz file?
I have no idea

Dexter, how far is your progress on the jb Rom? Can you release it here (as alpha/beta), so we can test it?

i would rather not. having too many posts saying not working or similar, is not fun, ive been around too long to find that interesting or positive.
and personally i find it less worth testing in public, since its basically stock jb and hardly nothing works.

So it is possible to flash a custom rom with CWM without touching/unlocking the bootloader ?

many define a custom rom by the option to compile a kernel from source.
we cannot include a modified kernel, without semi-bricking our devices.
but we can change startup and we can init kernel parameters a second time, to allow loading of different services and libraries, which for some is enough to load a customized kernel for graphics mod, removing adware, loading modules and porting cm10,aokp and other roms, like sense or similar miui roms.
i personally believe a port of highly modified rom, is custom. other believe its not a real rom
anyways with the clockworkmod i made its possible, as long as you do the same hijack when needed to change kernel init services or libraries to load.

lack of support from more developers i guess, seems other hardware devices are more popular, and propably much easier to get donations on that on a device with locked bootloaders where development stops at the locked device. today, donations is very popular and driving many towards popular devices.
Hey, if the Sense-Rom (by Dexter, thank you very much for that! ) would already run perfect and stable on our device, would it be possible to bind in some mods for the One X, which are based on the stock rom of the One X?
Or do they have to be ported, too?
...sent with my LG Optimus 4X HD...
yes as long as its framework changes, if they start installing binary libraries , it might cause bootloop. but regular graphics mod should work just fine , as long as you look for the version 2.x this was based on, JB mods will not work

Okay thank you for the answer!
So just to check if I got it right, you mean that I should look at the mods which are based on Android 2.x or what do you mean with "version 2"?

no, there exists many Sense editions and for One X you need their v2.17 release, which is still 4.0.3 based.
many numbers, sorry,.
a wrong mod and you got a bootloop

is there an official lg update to 4.2.2?
As of yet there is no word on an official 4.2.2 update, but that may change. I have my doubts though.
As for custom recovery, it's unlikely that we'll be able to install custom recovery at all, as we currently don't have a proper means of compiling a custom kernel.
TL;DR: It highly unlikely.
i'm pretty sure flashing a custom recovery doesn't have anything to do with compiling a kernel.
maybe we'll get 4.3.
I'm sorry, sometimes the way I word things make more sense in my own head. We don't really have any proper sources from Mediatek to work with at this point. Although, I'm trying reverse engineer what's already there. Also, there's no 'bootable' bootloader to try and work with either. It's a pain in the proverbial.

Did you know lg has released complete sources for e455/460? I mean kernel and everything. http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/index
Cwm shouldn't be so hard to be done, for someone who knows how. They compiled cwm for lg l7 ii: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413951 If you have the time, speak with the one that helped them and ask him to help us get recovery too.
