[App] Game Tiles - Windows Phone 7 Apps and Games

Hey everyone. I just made a new app for Windows Phone I thought people might enjoy and was hoping to get some feedback on
Game Tiles lets you track release dates for games. You can pin single games to your home screen or the app itself. It will display how many days are left until release. The main app tile will randomly cycle through all the games you're tracking.
Its free and requires Mango. Currently its only available in North America. The search API I use only give North American release dates.
Marketplace Linke:

Love to hear your thoughts and suggestions

its cool app, nicely done, i would suggest adding a general tile that will show what game will be relesed first (of the list user made), or with fliping tile showing two of them.
And source of game release dates is strange, cause it could not find batman arkham city.
But in the end, app really looks nice

APP very good .
i like you

Thank for this apps

Words with Friends on Android

Words with Friends is now available for Android. Free phone version is available and works well on the gtab. The tiles though don't scale pefectly and are kind of cut off at the bottom of the screen. Ads are kind of annoying and pop up after every other move it seems. It only plays in portrait mode currently. Hopefully the tablet version will be out soon.

Word Feud is rocks...Try this one and its free.
If that is sort of like Scrabble - you need to try WordSmith.
It is very playable against one or multiple players and you can play against specific people or random (my favorite).
Here is appbrain's link: http://www.appbrain.com/app/wordsmith-free/com.secondbreakfast.games.wordsmith.free
Portrait only - but that is the way you want it, trust me. Works perfectly on the GTab
I have trouble dragging the far right tile. anyone else?

Me too. I have to drag another tile towards that one so that it will rearrange. You can also shake the tablet to rearrange tiles.
Like many others have stated, WWF is very buggy and to me is still pretty beta. Zynga has a lot of ironing out to do on it.
And like others have said, there are some other android apps that are better I personally use Droid Words and love it, got all my android friends on that but the thing with WWF is, you can play with iOS players, so now I have WAY to many scrabble games going on.
It will be nice to have them all on WWF but I like DW and wish I could stay loyal to that app but if WWF will be the one app to rule them all, I guess that will be nicer then switching between apps.
New update for Words with Friends, still doesn't fix issues on gTab. They should just release the Tab version already...
only reason i use WWF is to play with my iphone friends. otherwise i use WordFeud. WordFeud is much better.

And what are the benefits/advantages/unique features over built-in calendar? Why should I buy this one?

Because it displays week numbers, maybe?
I'll give it a try and report back...
Edit: On the Display page (as shown on last thumbnail) maybe you should leave the start and end times free to choose, not everybody does a normal job, you know, just an opinion. And by tapping the tile, day or week (depending on the tile tapped) should be opened instead of the parameters page which IMHO should be last..
Nice app otherwise, the built-in calendar is frustratingly lacking features.
well, the starting point of the project was to offer a week view. It's something that the built in app doesn't not offer
The browsing between the different view is done with flick instead of having to tap on an icone in the application bar. In the build in app to access month view you have an icon for that.
The month view i provide give some usefull information that let you know if you have appointment in the morning, afternoon or all day. The build in app just display text so small that it's useless.
You can swap easily between view by clicking on week number or on the days. Nice when you want to set an appointment in the futur.
For the tile, you have 2 kind of tiles : week or day. The built in app offer only day and for only the next appointment.
With my tile you can have a graphic view of the day or week and/or the next 2 appointment for the current day.
But the best way to discover the app is to give it a try
Its nice application, but only 5 starts in trial mode is very liitle :-( When i set Live Tiles, some options and trial is done :-( Cannot test, 10 starts could be better number...
One definite bug, and two maybes (first one is a bug);
1) When doing AM/PM, it shows Noon as 12AM middle of day - should be 12PM (this is on day and week views)
2) When viewing day, it does not display starting at the start time you select (not sure where it starts, at current time of day you view it?). Week does.
3) My live tile shows nothing when you first pin it. Takes awhile to show anything (I am guessing the 30 minutes).

This one is a critical; if author not implemented prompt tile updates (using push notification), this app is useless (regardless of week view).
1) hmm, my mistake. didn't notice that as i mainly use 24h.
2) when you display current day, time is set to the current time. When it's not current day, it's start à midnight. I have to agree that currently the parameter is not clear. Should be better with the next update
3) The first tile update is not generated from the app. you have to wait max 30mn. it's also something i'll adress in the next version.
Beside the first generation, update are running fine.
Thanks for the feedback, it'll help improve the application.

Thanks. Love the week view. My wife loved it so got it for her's as well.
Following the return of the betas testers and also of the first users, here are the main elements of future V1.1:
View:
- Addition of fixed hour day view (almost finished)
- Addition of a 24hours scrolling week view
Tile: Improvement
- dedicated screen for customization
- Tile preview in the app
- First tile generation made from the app
Number of launch for trail version increased : between 10 and 20 (to be defined)
+ several little things
Delay : Less longer than you wish, faster than you hope 
Benefit from the last days to profit from launching price: change of price Monday
PS: don’t hesitate to evaluate the application
One suggestion, please consider making it open on the day view instead of the parameters page.
It's already done
check in the parameters

Sweet! I can choose any page now!
Thanks
This is a nice app. I'll like it more when it can be used to actually edit the calendar. I understand this is a limitation of the OS and not the app though.
A thought:
I don't like when calendars show Sun at the end of the week. It'd be nice to have the option to have it at the beginning of the week.

[APP] [4.0+] atmosHere Weather, making Android weather smarter!

I'm the developer of atmosHere (play on words of atmosphere) Weather for Android, an Android app to make weather smarter, and simpler. The app is "Card UI" based, similar to that of Google Now, and is powered first and foremost by the hyper accurate Forecast.io. By using Google's Fused location Provider, we can get your exact location and get down to the minute weather information, all while also getting data for the upcoming week! The app prioritizes information based on the current weather conditions. So if there is a weather alert for your location, that will be the first card you will see! Similar concepts are used else where, if it's raining or snowing, you will get a card for nearby traffic accident counts. This pattern is used throughout the app. This makes it extremely simple to get glance-able information about what is going on right now, and other data that applies based on the conditions. The card ui also makes it simple to fling down a little further for the upcoming week weather, chances of rain, device sensor readings (barometric pressure, temps, etc), pollen counts, UV index, astronomy information, and many more! The app is also extremely configurable, by allowing users to toggle what information they want to see, allowing them to personalize the data they get within the app!
Just recently (last night) I added a new feature that I have yet to see from any other Forecast.io powered app. Forecast.io provides TONS of information, but for the normal person it is hard to parse through all the data given and make sense of it and what it means for the weather. So i have taken the data given, and "pre-parsed" it in a sense, and turned it into a friendly, readable, format when needed. For example, forecast.io provides a summary for a given days' forecast, "Breezy starting in the afternoon, continuing until the evening." and then this is where I come in and add additional, relevant information. So if there is a high chance of rain in the forecast, I will add precipitation information, "75% chance of rain, with light rain starting at 5pm". This gives you the chance of rain, how heavy it will be (can range from very light to very heavy), and then the forecasted time of that precipitation! I also do the same for the given temperature. So you may see "High for today of 35, with a low of 25" and if it will "feel" warmer or cooler than the given temperature, it will also let you know! This makes the forecast for every day personalized and relevant, and lets you very quickly flip to a given day's forecast and know exactly what the forecast is. No need to flip through charts of data, and stare at numbers trying to make sense of them!
The app also features data from other services to aid with contextual information, such as traffic conditions, marine and ski conditions, latest earthquake information, and even a feed of National Weather Service Audio Streams! This will be built out even further going forward, allowing users to custom tailor the weather information they are shown!
The app also features radar data of all types, from precipitation, to weather alerts, and plenty more! Your Android standards such as widgets, notifications, and even extensions for the ever popular DashClock and Muzei are included! The app has already been optimized for Android Wear once it is released to the public. Google Glass has not been forgotten either, as there is a build ready to go for when Google Opens up GDK app distribution!
I have a G+ community setup that I am posting information about updates, bugs, and asking random questions for possible future updates. I will also answer any questions or I am open to just good old conversation! I am always open to suggestions of new ideas for the app. It's been extremely enjoyable thus far getting that app to where it is, and look forward to keeping that going. I also have no problem answering any emails if you prefer taking that route. The about section of the app includes all contact information you could ever need.

I have been doing weekly releases, and the app has improved tremendously over the last few weeks. We are now sitting in the top 30 in free weather app!
I have also worked on a free version, as some people have seemed hesitant to purchase without being able to really try the Card UI style out first.
So atmosHere Weather Free has been published just today!
Google Play Feature!
atmosHere Weather is now being featured on Google Play!
Feel free to join the G+ Community as well to follow development, make suggestions, or report bugs! There's a current Reddit thread right now as well.
I bought this the other day for my brand new Note 4. After installing all it would do is tell me i was running an unlicensed version. Pretty odd behavior considering i bought it via the play store. Had to request a refund pretty much immediately. Shame. I liked the look of this.

Shortcuts in Search. Google rolls out Tappable Shortcuts

Starting today in the U.S., Google is introducing tappable shortcuts on the Google app for Android and iOS and Google.com on the mobile web that give you easy access to many tools and the ability to explore deeper within topics you care about.
Getting up-to-the-minute info is as easy as a single tap. With shortcuts right on the home screen, you now have access to in-depth experiences across sports, eat & drink, entertainment and weather
Android users will find many useful shortcuts like—translate, nearby attractions, flights, hotels, internet speed test, currency converter, and more. And , if you’re looking for fun, there are shortcuts like tic-tac-toe, roll a die, animal sounds, solitaire, and " I'm feeling curious".
You can tap into news, trailers and reviews that are relevant for you or swipe through listings to catch up on your favorite show.
Similarly on sports, whether you love basketball, hockey or football, now you don’t need to type anything when you want the latest scores. Just tap into game times, scores and team news.
Tap the weather shortcut and be ready for the day before you walk out the door. You’ll have access to updated information every time you tap—from hourly sky conditions and chance of rain, severe weather alerts, a detailed 10-day forecast, and more.
To find the most timely and recently used shortcuts, make sure your Google app is updated to the latest version and then look for your shortcuts right underneath the search box.
And Google is planning to add new shortcuts for big moments and events later.
