Incredible s will be one of the devices can get ICS? - HTC Incredible S

Samarth Rasiwasia - 10:37 AM (edited) -Public Technically all the Android powered devices capable of running of Android Gingerbread will be able to run Android 4.0 ICS but Practically all devices may not give an overall good user experience . So all the manufactures are reviewing ICS on their devices to check the user experience and will release the latest OS according to the results.
HTC's list of devices that will surely get ICS : * HTC Sensation (XL,XE,Original) * HTC EVO 3D * HTC Incredible S * HTC Desire HD * HTC Flyer * HTC Rhyme * HTC Desire S * HTC Salsa * HTC Desire Z * Google Nexus One
Samarth Rasiwasia - Oct 8, 2011 - Mobile -Public HTC Sense As you are already aware that HTC Sense is the best UI on Android till date. With the Android ICS around the corner we are thinking of taking HTC Sense to a whole new level. Re-designed, Re-vamped, Smoother and even more user friendly HTC Sense 4.0 coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

I don't know why I can't place the link here,it has no response when I press submit.
The source is from the writer of the comment at the top,Samarth. You can search the name at goggle, and the orginal comment can be found at his Google plus. You guys can ask him if he is serious about the official update from HTC for Incredible S is real or not. I will update when I get some latest information.

from what i've heard, most gingerbread devices will get ICS.
it should be highly probable that INC S should,
but then again, INC S did come with Froyo, if that doesnt make it a 'gingerbread' device, i dont know.
but i hope the INC S does get ICS. im looking forward to it

HTC peep

Hi guys
Is anyone else having trouble getting peep to log in or Twitter for HTC sense for that matter?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Nope, could be because Twitter is down all the time.
Here its just working.
Works Fine for me I just do not like the App, there are much better alternatives out there, as far as if they intergreate as well with sence as this one does i would say No, but if it is not working for you in my opinion you are not missing much. lol

US LGX2 come with AOSP 2.2.1 froyo or Gingerbread?

Hello, is US version of LGX2 come with AOSP Froyo or Gingerbread or LG own software like TouchWiz or sense etc...?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
I believe it will be 2.2.1 stock AOSP. It will look similar to current G2 by HTC. It might have some Tmo apps like WiFi calling, MobiTv and some others. But maily it will be clean and free of bloatware from LG.

They have some specs and possibly all features listed on their website (coming soon..). Notably absent is WiFi calling. Wonder, if not, could the app be "lifted' from another ROM by XDA? Also, will it be compatible with the hardware setup?
That could be a deal killer for me otherwise - I use WiFi calling most of the time from home office, as WiFi is always on thanks to TMo US data cap.
It seems like on most tmo phones, the wifi calling is delivered over an ota update soon after release..
One more question guys, does the phone comes unlock US version?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Comes w/ 2.2.2 stock. Few T-Mobile apps thrown in: AppPAck, My Account, Qik Video Chat, MobiTV, WiFi calling, Zinio
Thanks guys, I have one more questions cause I don't want to create another thread. Is LG easier to port Sense? Since its on froyo? Cause SamSux use different file system and it's a ***** to port Sense. Galaxy S series, 4G, Nexus S only AOSP rom like CM7, Miui etc but not Sense. Is LG the same like Samsux?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Probably 2.2.x judging from all the press shots with the fugly default pre-Gingerbread status bar.
Sense can't be ported to non-Neon GPU's like Tegra2 until HTC or someone else rewrites the whole thing. Get LauncherPro Plus.

Thanks, I just ask in the Evo 4G thread there is no way to port Sense to LG or Samsung due to htc close source.
I guess I'll be waiting on htc so I can have both worlds AOSP cm7, Miui and Sense ui.

BootManager

Hello everyone,
wanted to ask if anyone already tested BootManager from the market and can tell me if it works properly on this phone or if it crashes with CWM (latest).
Thanks in advance.
Tiwiz
UP - maybe someone tested it
Have you considered being the one who tests it?

In case you didn't read the info about the app on Market.
I have posted the Supported devices here under.
Current Supported Devices
Motorola Droid 1
HTC Incredible 1
HTC Thunderbolt
HTC Desire Z
HTC G2(aka Vision)
HTC EVO 4G
HTC Inspire4g
HTC Desire
HTC Desire HD
HTC MyTouch 4G
HTC Nexus One
Htc Evo 3D
Htc Incredible 2
Htc Incredible S
Htc Desire S
Yes, that's what actually made me doubt about that software, since AndroidMarket said it was available on my device...
Tiwiz
Sorry for double posting, but here I have the answer and unluckily our phone is not supported yet.
No it's not currently supported. The android markets way of determining
what's "supported" is just based off of what version of android your
running and stuff like screen resolution. We are working on some lg
phones to bring support for them to the app so hopefully we will be able
to support it though.

[Q] Question About ICS On The Vivid

Hi Fellows,
I need to ask a question, if you have ICS on your vivid can you look in "settings" under "call" and and tell me if "Hearing Aids" is still there. When HTC updated the inspire they did away with it and I need to know if they did that on the vivid. I am hearing impaired and it is an important feature to me.
It's still there capman. I would show the screenshot, but the xda app won't let me. By the way my phone is using rum float if that makes a difference.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
It is also on WCX ICS 3.6
Had to make another post because I'm not allowed to edit my first post with a picture
Thanks fellows, I was hoping that HTC didn't delete it like they did on the update to the Inspire last year. It makes it a lot easier for me with my hearing aids.
Thanks doktor, that's exactly what it looks like on the stock GB rom.

I still have the option on mine.
I do have a custom ROM which is the at&t ROM rooted and stripped of bloatware so I don't believe that would impact this option.

I don't think customizing ever looses its cool factor ,even if it doesn't apply to what you would customize.

This post is to get one of your developers in the section to create this plugin that will allow the Bootloader Customizer to work with your device. The main application is very user friendly, just look at the original post by clicking the (HERE) in the OP.
So tell/ask around to your main developers in your section and see if they can make this plugin. Should take all of 10 minutes, including getting the hex offsets of locations in the hboot image.
Updated OP with new build of the Tester application as well as new plugin template zip (if you already built one, it will still work). Got rid of using MEF for the plugins, I just wrote my own easier system.
Dang, just realized I left out a few fields I needed to be in the plugin. Expect a new version. And yes, you will have to rebuild your plugin to make it compatible.
I'm making great progress on this. I removed the need to reference an external dll to create the plugin, now you just need to reference the application itself as I implemented the plugin interface into it. This cuts back on a lot of confusion, as well as keeps it more organized. I'll put out an updated version tomorrow (Wednesday the 18th) and a whole new plugin zip.
Updated OP with new download. Got rid of the need to reference the external dll to create the plugin. Now you just reference the application itself (included in zip).
Developers, you can now create the plugin, as I won't be changing the IBootloaderPlugin interface anymore.
Just wondering if any devs have plans on making this a plugin that works with our phones?

I'm going to be making a few for some devices myself, but for the devices that don't have plugins yet that are compatible, link one of your devs to this page so they can make one!
Hey guys, I released the full version of this application here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786498
Also, if one of you would like to create a plugin, refer to here now - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776900
I am still hoping someone will make a plugin so we can give this a try.Anyone?
