Was just wondering whatelse can be modified or tweaked to get rid of the jitter in the blur launcher. It seems to only occur if you have more than 2 app drawers, and it only occurs one time when you change app drawers. The performance will be nice and smooth till you close the app drawer, and once you open it back up, same issue occurs. Is this something we possibly can correct via build prop? I have Max Events bumped up to 200 and don't notice a difference. Or is this just something we have to hope for motorola to fix? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks .
Edit: forgot to mention it doesn't happen all the time.
I never noticed this. Can you post a vid of what you mean?
Maybe it will be fixed in the next OTA for the bionic.
I personally recommend using ADW Ex Launcher though.

The next OTA isnt even out yet bro. 5.5.893 is just a leak. They might not even release that.
When you open the blur home and have atleast 3 app drawers change drawers and there will be a stutter.
Like I said in OP only occurs one time everytime you open the blur home app drawer.

3 app drawers? Most people just have 1 :O
Unless you're talking about different pages of apps if you use that appdrawer option. (I use 4D vertical scroll)
Windows slots app pages w/e you want to call them derp.

Yeah then you were talking about pages. I didn't know.
You should try using one of the one continuous scrolling options. So theres no pages, just one long scroll through your apps.
I don't think the blur launcher has that?

Supercharged with hard to kill and the jittering from the app menu is pretty much gone/minimal. Guess at this point it's gotta be up to motor or the devs here.maybe!

thanks. the only thing i dont like about the blur launcher is that goofy horizontal page scroll, I hate it! the only option is to use an aftermarket launcher, i use launcher pro. for me its the smothest and most customizable out there.

As long as you set one as your default then it shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever.

nope. i had both installed to play with them and see which one i liked better. I ended up going back to Sense in the end.
but all you need to do is decide which one you like most and check mark it as the default when the pop-up comes up for certain actions, like pressing the Home button to go back to the default home screen.
Is it a bad idea to keep switching around between the three homes?

Nope, your phone just caches the different launchers!

For those that don't know, its a 3d based home replacement app. I'm having mixed thoughts about it. First of all, its $15 on the market but is rather cheap compared to its windows mobile predecessor. I like its features but hate the scrolling. Swipe sensitivity is sub par imo. Its got some good elements to it and adds to the android experience with the widgets, carousel screen previews and editing features but also takes as way from the android experience by not allowing the user to place the items anywhere on the screen. And it doesn't scroll through the home screens like android. More like an imitation android os if there is one. What do yall think?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
It's ok, it's defensibility a different home replacement but with 5.0 it doesn't have an app drawer which is a huge set back in my opinion, I don't like to have to set up folders.
If you don't like AOSP/Sense it might be for you, but I don't think it's worth it and I have had ever since beta was leaked, and the official copy before android market... And when it takes off it will be priced way to high just as it was on WinMo.
I'm still using the last beta before the release (i tested all of the beta releases), and it has an app drawer. I personally love the home replacement, and was considering purchasing, but if they took out the app drawer then i wouldn't fork over $15, no way no how.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk
Yeah there is no app drawer in the release I have its just your screens (weather calender, clock on the left side, then your screens on the right, no way to access an app drawer. When you set up the screen only option it gives you is recycle bin and the bottom row to do a temp store but no true app drawer
Craziness. Ill just wait for someone to kang a clone for 5 bucks and better features.

You sure? The one I tried a few weeks ago didn't have an app drawer... or if it did I didn't keep it long enough to find out.
Definitely has an app drawer. Definitely has an app drawer. I think its sweet. Lacks a few things but I'm sure it will get updated and improved on.

Lol. Well the current one from the market has an app drawer. And yes. The pirated version won't stay installed unless you are rooted and using adb and firewall app. I admit to using it for trial purposes but I haven't rooted yet so it got disabled. But yea I think it's current state just doesn't appeal to me so much yet. They also lack a configurations menu. I just hope fede can come with features that can measure up with this. If he does I think it will give some satisfaction to all of us whom will not be getting sense3.0 on our devices. Lol. I'm rooting for fede tho.

The same fede who has been working on the perpetual rewrite? The same fede who keeps adding to the fat of lpp instead of stabilizing it? The same fede who kanged anderweb's transitions for lpp shortly after adw ex launched?

It looks glitzy but I wouldn't pay $15 for it. I wouldn't pay $5 for it.
I had to sign up for beta testing using a dozen emails before the devs sent one of them an invitation. The earlier releases did not have an app drawer, and when i sent a feature request for it, the dev who emailed me back asked me if it were necessary since the home screens can be customized.

Any one else notice the lack in quality of the animations when swiping from screen to screen?
Mainly that some icons go faster around then others. Wonder why they did such a crap job on that part of MotoBlur.
I personally wish there was a way to turn the launcher animations off.

What you're describing was done intentionally to give "depth" to the home screen...aka provide a 3D effect. If you drag the screen really slowly you get a better feel for the effect. I don't think you can disable this with the stock launcher.

Yeah. When in the app dock it is nice, the icons stay in there location in space relative to the swiping to the next. Just on the home screen if i swipe slowly several icons will go faster then others and get on top of them while some stay in there relative location. Just found it odd.
Just what the title says. IMO its smoother then Apex and Nova. I really haven't had time to play with it but so far so good. Wish this update was available when I was stuck on HC.

But at least it was worth the waiting.
Had to fix screen size and some other settings after new update. It was a pain, don't really notice anything new while running on stock ICS

Was quite happy using adw ex launcher. There is a bug though. When u add a folder on the home screen, initially you could edit the folder to change the icon or rename the folder. It doesn't work anymore. Any idea people.

After trying EVERY other launcher including paid ones, none come close to Go EX...

If it works for you that's cool.
There used to be downsides to using 3rd party launchers. I ran stock launchers predominantly on my phones till about 4.2 (was on N4 at the time). Nowadays, I feel as though if you can have endless customizability with zero performance or battery hit, with flawless stability why not?
