what will change with your kernel?
For now, just optimizations that come with upgrading kernels. I believe the Droid 3 and Droid Bionic use the same CPU as this phone, so I'll be monitoring patches coming from that community as they'll have more devs.
the link to the kernel download has been removed
the processor is a 1000 mHz texas instruments dual core processor, arm7 i believe
It's the OMAP 4430.

whatever hapened to this kernel?
It got pulled because the chipset's were different or something to that effect.

Not true. OP updated. I need feedback!!!
to go back to a previous post in this thread, what have you done to this kernel to vary it from stock?
at the moment, not much. I have finally cleaned up LG's source to the point where it will actually build. If this build works as intended with no bugs/errors, I will move forward with patching it up to a newer kernel. there have been a crazy number of optimizations for omap processors in recent kernels.
Its not flashing. It aborts during install.

working on a way to pack this for updating. apparently koush's anykernel updater doesn't work for this device. my bad
have you modified the script to flash it straight to the partition instead of to "boot?"
Could you add ADB root to it? Please?
Any specific reason for not using the CM7 cosmo kernel?
Yes.. kernels must match up with lib etc and bin files to work and the cm7 files are not easily swapped into LG rom
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App
Also because the kernel on cyanogens github doesn't compile.

Now that we have the source code, I have been poking around the source and I think I have found the frequency table, which includes the voltages. If anyone here has experience with the Linux kernel or any experience making overclocked boot images please help us build an overclocked boot image join us on irc.freenode.net #openzio or post here.
Please keep this thread clean... it is dedicated to building an overclocked kernel.

I been waiting for someone to say this all day. I am having problems entering in the chat room, doesn't want to load on any of my browsers.
Good news cricket Zio owners, not only do we now have our first rom thanks to spz0, but in openzio development we are working hard on getting a kernel working and booting... especially Adrynalyne (I think that's right) if all goes as planned and nothing is broken we will be releasing this for all to enjoy, maybe spz0 will put it in the next rom release.

Good news. The Zio M6000 has been overclocked! We have been working hard testing the limits and running stress tests. A little more tweaking and we should have a stable release by the end of the month.

Several of us have been testing and have yet to have an Issue. You should pop by #openzio and voice issues so we can work on them .......
Personally ive run the Openzio Rom with OC included(729 Mhz run as a constant) as well as the "ExtremeZio OC Kernel at 748 Mhz. Granted 748 isnt anywhere near stable, but ive had Zero issues running at 729mhz ...... maybe you have some software conflicts?
Anyway drop by and let Spz0 know what issues youre having so he can resolve them m8
I am running the second test kernel on the list, with only 729 above 600 with no performance tweaks and only swap enabled. I started from scratch with the optimized kernel 650-748 and found it to be much less stable then the unoptimized 729 only kernel.
It seems to me that some of the optimizations are running over settings I normally have control of.
Do i have to change my phone's rom to oc? can i just open rw access and change out the kernel? I'm fairly new to all of this, and I've had nothing but bad luck lol (bricked my galaxy s)

Kernels are flashed through CWM as zip files. There is only one way to get overclocking on the Zio unless you can find the list of kernels made by Adrynalyne. And I HIGHLY DOUBT you can. So the only real option is to get OpenZio on your phone. And that takes a lot of work and know how. If you want to pursue that, start in the Easy Clockwork Mod Recovery thread in the Zio development section.
EDIT: ONLY FOR CRICKET

I need some one to take Franco's kernel and add some stuff from log p505 stock gb kernel, Franco's kernel fixes a keyboard issue on my UI one miui v4 rom. And p 505 kernel fixes color issue on thrive because it is old Bb phone.

go to general box plz. It's development box
wats in it for the dev ?
Well, combining kernels wouldn't be possible...
You can apply all commits of franco on your kernel?

well for the devs I bet they would be well rewarded by the log thrive community

Here is a kernel build for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Running on 1704Mhz. With extra 100, 50 and 25Mhz step. So it runs 25 to 1704 instead of 200 to 1400.
Custom bootanimation support. (Standard bootanimation wont work)
Triangle away support.
Update N8000BRV2 (ICS)
-better voltage settings
-better wifi drivers
-BFQ scheduler back
-updated linux version
-other minor tweaks
Update N8000Jelly_OC
-Build for JellyBean
edit.
N8013 and N8010 support pulled back because of the wifi problems

Thanks to Gokhanmoral, Espenfjo, Entropy512 and Franciscofranco.
Flash tar with odin or zip with CWM.
Everything at your own risk.

anyone test it on an n8013 yet?
n8013 support?
I am also curious to see if this works on the US version (N8013). Anyone willing to give it a shot?
Has anyone tested this yet?
Lol all these views and no one?

XDA told me that I need to put my source code online to confirm with the gpl license.
So right now Im busy finding out how to work with github after that I will build a N8013 kernel.

Check my sig for some git tips... which reminds me, Pulser asked me to write up a more detailed guide with more tips (such as how to handle branching and how to handle source releases for test kernels).
Once you've gotten familiar with git, github is as easy as "git push origin". Long-term, good git discipline will greatly improve your development workflow.
Not to seem greedy but is 1.6 the most we can squeeze out of this thing?

No this is just a start in fact 1600 isnt a real OC. The settings are already in the kernel made by Samsung they just locked it at 1400.

will this work on n8010, nobody seems to be working on the N8010 devise. cant wait for jellybean on my note :silly:
Issue with 5GHz Wifi
After applying this Kernel I was unable to connect to any of my 5GHz WiFi networks. Upon reverting to stock Kernel, the problem resolved.
Kernel seemed stable in all other aspects.
Running Stock XXALI1 (Rooted)
Thanks
OK - I took the plunge and tried this on a N8013. Only issue I have found is, as mentioned by MintyTrebor, with wifi. Both my 2.4 and 5Ghz work (as well as tether to the phone), but will occasionally disconnect - all I have to do to get it back is turn wifi on/off and things are good. Running at 1.6 on all cores (system tuner), very snappy (nova launcher). Benchmark tests really bumped up with this kernel. No problems with pen apps. Had one freeze, but that was after I'd installed twrp recovery.
Think I'll leave this kernel on for another day and see how the battery life is. Be great if someone could crank one of these out specifically for the N8013 to get rid of the wifi issue.
Thanks for testing kernel. Im gonna build kernel for 8013 and 8010 within 24 hours.

tried my gt-n8010 and works ok upto now. not noticed anything with wireless, but theres still time lol
Thanks for the 8013 support. I'll wait for a braver soul to try it first
Do you notice improved performance at 1600? Quadrant?

I've been looking around for p970's kernels and it seems there really isn't much. Let's say if I flash a kernel specific for another device, say SiyahKernel for S2 onto my p970, will it work out?
It's different specification, you can't install other kernel to P970, or you'll only got hard bricked..
That makes me think of a question... If kernels got the same arch, commits can be injected or is it more complicated than injecting commits and managing dependencies?
And adapting some data like ram size...

RR kernel is an alternative . But chaux please wait for ics sources . Now our community is in the phase of freeze after ics sources is out devs will get diging

I would like to over clock my kernel in my cm 10.1 ROM I have all source code and compile the ROM with kernel but do not know what to modify to add overclocking or any other modifications that could improve it so any links with guides or any help would be great and very helpful in me and others who want to learn this
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
Well instead of modifying everything I am trying to build with neobuddys source with my rom I guess I'll see what happens
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
I don't know about your device, but you could try looking at Github commits that are related to overclocking.
Every device handles Android slightly different than the other.
