[Q] Cellcom US apn-conf HELP

I am SO lost I was trying the CM6 vanilla mod and I loved it, but it was made for sprint. I thought it would work anyway and it did for the most part. The only problem i have had is that the mms will not upload or download. I have an htc hero ran through cellcom in wisconsin, not the cellcom in Israel. anybody have the apn i should use or preferebly specific instructions on how to fix. I'm a fast learner but i am still new to this stuff so any help very appreciated.

I hope that you made a backup. If not then Your gonna have to get the apn settings somewhere. Try hexscrews rom it might have them

[Q] Videotron LG optimus 2X

Hello All, I search all the forum and I couldn't find answer to my question.
Anyone know if I can use the tool and rom, available on the forum, on the Videotron LG optimus 2X ? I see most of the rom / tool are build for LG-P990, but The phone I got here from vidéotron Shows LG-P999.
I got Version AVC-V11F
BAseband says: M6600A-SCAUTZ-2.0.9720T (may 18 2011) MP:TRULGE_08.09.02R_MDM
Vidéotron now carry that phone for about 2 weeks from now.
I bet this is basically the same Hardware, as i'm getting the "Black screen freeze issue" (have to remove battery. etc....)
Finally, I would need the Stock Firmware from vidéotron, If I want to go back to stock eventualy

You dont have a optimus 2x(p990) you have G2X(p999) . Its a different phone and you shouldnt flash optimus 2x roms on it becouse the phone will stop working.

This forum and the G2X forum should be renamed to accommodate the confusing fact that Canadian carriers have branded the P999 as Optimus 2X as well. Let's include the model number in the forum title. Are any moderators listening?

Well the G2X name is only used for the P999, but the O2X name is the one used for both.
I suggest:
1) LG P990: Optimus 2X (Europe/Asia)
2) LG P999: T-mobile G2X, Optimus 2X (Canada)
In the case of the G2 versus Desire Z though, I see they eventually got mashed into the same forum. I guess that's because that pair is more mutually compatible than this LG pair?

Yeah, use nvflash to install the latest clockworkmod and install any build you want (P999) ... for me Cyanogen is not working, even after creating the APN, I have no data... tried everything.... And I am on Videotron...

Strange, but when you flash back to LG based ROMs, are they working for you?

I got a LG Optimus 2X (P999) yesterday. I try today to root the device and install cyanogenMod, but when I try got install the new rom I lost my originals rom from Videotron. Is it possible to get in touche with someone who can provide original roms of the videotron phone?
With CyanogenMod I was unable to get the Internet access, so I install T-Mobile version, it's works now, but, I got some connections issue with the roms.

I found the problem and fixed it!
with the configurations files joinned with CyanogenMod the apns-conf.xml did not includes Videotron parameters. So I modified the files before updating the phone.
I opened the .zip files and replace apns-conf.xml with a version with thoses 2 entries added :

I tried to uncompress and compress the .zip files, but I got an error, but if you replace with a a sofware likes 7-Zip the achive will be OK to be imported with ROM Manager.
Now everything seems working well!!

For my part i tried a lot of different ROMS and i didn't find one that works with Videotron APN, so now, i'm stock with original ROM Froyo 2.2.2

Got a modified version of MIUI : Miui_1916_p999.zip and it works.. BUT!
Can't get 4g network or gps working
Can't record video in 1080
I installed this version this morning so i'll try to find more bugs later

I get an error when I try to install from the zip file after modifying apns-conf

Videotron Stock ROM
If somebody could provide the Stock ROM from Videotron it would really be appreciated as I need it to recover a LG Optimus 2x (G2X Version for Videotron) to the stock rom for a lady friend of mine.

I'll just throw in my two cents and hopefully this helps someone out, or someone will be able to point out flaws in my setup. I have the P-999 from FIDO, with the O2X installed. Everything seems fine from my point of view (then again, i have no one really to compare to). My phone stats are as follows:
Rom Manager: 4.7.0.5
ClockworkMod: 5.0.2.0
Android Version: 2.3.7
Baseband: 1035.21_20110720
Kernel: 2.6.32.45-cyanogenmod
Mod Version: CyanogenMod-7-10132011-NIGHTLY
I guess the only real issues i have so far would be:
1. My carrier is Fido, but the phone shows me Rogers. I guess this is normal, since Fido is part of Rogers?
2. I'm guessing due to this, i have to set International Data Roaming to ON if i wish to use the moible network.
3. I still do lose carrier connectivity from time to time. (Sometimes, it'll show that the Airplane mode is ON, and will not turn OFF even after i toggel it. Sometimes, i think it might just be while i'm in the reboot menu and accidently hitting airplane mode.)
If i think of anything else, i'll post it here.
And if anyone can spot out anything on my end, can you please let me know?

The Fido O2X is P990, not P999.
Yes it's normal for the phone to say Rogers. No it's not normal to have to turn on data roaming - this should never be necessary on your home carrier.

[Q] how can I get my data plan to work

I flashed using the direction on the thread at:

i flashed the v21a official gingerbread but now my phone says it is an lg-p920 and although I have gingerbread 2.3.5 I cannot connect to any application that needs data unless I am on a wireless network. I have unlimited data and texting but I cannot figure out why I cannot get a signal. do i need to change some settings? do i need to change my baseband and if so how do I do this? would it be easier to return it to stock settings? thank you in advance for all your help so far.

Only thing I can suggest is have u changed the apn settings on the phone yet there was a thread somewhere on here on wat to set them as if I find it ill post it. As far as the baseband there is none for the us at the moment.

Guys i flashed some P920 basebands and roms.... now i am V21E with Acura 3d Max rom, but i want to have m y 4G signal back again! I just get 3G and H with O3D roms and basebands... and when i open LG update soft it shows me LG-P920H... but my country now have 4G and i want 4G as my phone is the Thrill 4G from ATT...
how do i do to have my thrill back????? what baseband do i need to flash for it to show me LG-P925 again in the update software and drivers?????
did i broke my phone? will it be O3D forever??????????????????????

Have you tried flashing thrill seeker 3.12. I think it will work with your baseband. You may need to flash a v21e kernel but the rom has the proper flex settings for H+
Or you can install v20p kdz that is official AT&T
Also: You can edit flex in your current rom but you will lose contacts app due to it being tied to att address book somehow when you edit flex.xml..
Let me know if you try my thrill seeker 3.12 I'm curious if the h+ works outside US. You can pm me with any questions

I've flashed back and forth so, yeah, all you have to do is follow the KDZ tutorial to flash V20p again, what everyone else says is correct though, you already are getting "4G" on V21e, the icon simply calls it by it's real name "H+" the only thing you'll get by going back is the "AT&T" splashscreen and the ability to connect to AT&T hotspots.

yes guys...... well... thinking bout that i'll maybe better maitain v21e for now.... but the companies r changing the signal for real 4G (not the "4G" from HSPA+)... here the signal may be between 2.5 and 2.95 GHz and soon will have 700mhz as international signal too... so, in this case, should i be back to v20p? or v21e can handle this?

Actually you will only get "h" with any 920 roms.. The flex.xml settings are different and you will get the "h+" icon with v20p roms. I don't see any difference in speed unless it's the middle of the night. But some have claimed increases. Probably depends on service area. I do however see changes in signel strength between the two so it is doing something... Lol

yes.... i was really interested trying your rom, i can do it for u i have nothing to lose and anywayi can backup my actual rom and be back if signal has any problem....
i'll flash v20p and install your rom to test so i'll PM you with the results and inform you about the perfomance and any problem i can found.

You may not have to flash V20p first... Check your phone settings to see if kernel has a + at the end of it... If it does u may get signal without a different kernel. If no signel then flash prometheus 1.5 kernel no + version should fix.
Just do data wipe then flash rom and see if it gets signal and wifi.. U can always flash v20p later if u have to.

oh..... i think i may try it. i am really curious and i wont support not to see if i can get difference in the band. I'll try Seeker 3.12 and tell you about in pms.

i have a kernel with + in the final: 2.6.35.7+ so wont i need to change? have not to flash v20p to try seeker rom? even with my driver telling i have p920 and not p925? i can imagine. so, that it makes no difference but just the name now...

You should be fine. Just wipe data and flash 3.11 then the 3.12 update after.

Guys i am from Brazil and i have a Thrill, i flashed V20p but with this i can't have portuguese-br as language and i have no settings for APN. The APNs i found a way to set for TIM - Brazil, but i found no way to have portuguese as language (is there a way?). If there is a way to have portuguese - BR as language so i'll back to V20p...as now i reflashed v21e that is multilanguage, but has no H+ (is it right or am i wrong and v21e has H+ ??? ) , i am unsecure about change flex.xml in v21e, i don't know if it already has H+ or not... can you give a clue?

So..... i tried v20p to see what would happen.... here is the result:
- No internet signal APN unconfigured... so i found TIM-Brazil APN config, and H+ working fine
- no multilanguage, so no way to have portuguese-br as language to use some default language softwares with voice
- calling signal ok, could call to any phone number
- SIM card recognized as TIM
the rest was working as always, all ok
Now, i had to be back to v21e, so i'd like to edit flex.xml, but i saw they r info from ATT, do u think it will work here for TIM-Brazil?
i have 2.6.35.7+ kernel so i'll install Seeker 3.12 as u tol me, thank u since nw

I will see if I can add it to thrill seeker.. Not sure how exactly but I'm pretty sure it lies in systemUI and/or framework-res
For now language will be same as stk v20p.

[Q] Data problem with my Note

Hi everyone, am new here, i decided to register on XDA after scrounging and searching of solution to my problem. All of my finds were disappointing and vague. So i finally joined up after going thru an intimidating XDA signup vid (one of the reasons i didnt wanna join in the first place). So here's the prob..
My N7000 (international) is bad at picking up signal, which forces the phone to go for Edge instead of H/H+/3g. I live in a country where 3g is supported. I could connect to 3g as well as having better connections (using the same simcard, as well same location) with my friends S3 and Ace 2 but not my Note So i figured maybe that theres probably something wrong with its hardware (?)
One other thing, if i set my network mode to WCDMA, the phone will have NO signal AT ALL. With GSM only, theres weak/moderate signal, same goes to (Auto Mode), which am guessing it'll only choose GSM.
My phone is running Philz Kernel. BurtRom JB XXLSZ. And ive also tried XXLSO (problem still exist)
Should i try flashing AOSP roms..maybe, flashing diffrent radios help? :/ mehh..i really dont know anymore..
Sorry, if my question seems long. And i genuinely believe that i needed to post a new thread to get a solution from the pros! thnx in advance..

flash the stock rom again and keep the stock kernel.. if you want to root then let me know.. i'll give u flashable zip to root with the stock kernel...

Sorry, i forgot to mention that, even when i was on stock kernel and stock rom, the problem was already there, and i thought rooting and flashing might solve it but it didnt :/..

which country/carrier are you on? Maybe there's someone on the same carrier as you and might have workarounds or a solution
