Okay folks. Now that my REVO is updated with GB, I think I'm ready to try rooting. I'm new to Android and have never rooted before. As I read through some of the other posts since we got GB, I'm thoroughly confused by some of the tools and steps, etc.
Could you help me figure out exactly what steps I need to do to root this phone?
Thanks!

I have to ask, because it really is in front of your eyes... what the heck did you search for?
When I searched for Captivate JI6 2.2 root I got this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797397
Which is exactly what I knew I would get. Try searching a little harder and using the correct terms. I promise you that you'll find your answer. Good luck with your rooting!

I did but I didn't understand it and I have the leaked 2.2 for captivate and some tell me how to root in a easier easy so I can understand
That is your easiest method on the leak 2. 2. Start reading, this will be a good learning experience. I would suggest searching odin and flashing back to stock Rom. then flash a 2. 2 Rom that is already rooted like cognition.
Either way do not do anymore unless you have read enough to understand where you will end up

Cog 2.2

I also have to ask... Did you read the thread? The top of the FIRST post has a link to a ONE-CLICK-ROOT. (this is a link, you click on this with your mouse.)
It does not get any easier then that.
I have Rooted 2.2 I used super one click I believe its called. Try googleing that.

I just bought a bunch of tabs for my business. I rooted one before I updated it and it worked fine, but wouldn't update. I then updated one and now it won't root.
I'm really a total noob when it comes to rooting. I haven't even touched flashing. I would rather keep it as stock as possible. I'm mostly rooting it to remove bloatware. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, please help.
I've run superoneclick 2.2 and run zergrush, but that seems to stall out.
Currently, the only way to root 2.3.5 is to flash a pre-rooted rom. I'm using "Galaxy Cubed" you can find it under dev section.

I hate to ask, but is there a decent guide to doing that? Also is the process reversible?

Can you help me with the steps that you should follow for a successful root?
I tried what I found on XDA but unfortunately does not work.
Or at least can not do it properly.
Can someone for me to say my step by step how to do.
Thanks
PS: I do not want to upset anyone but I do not know what to try to go to the root

Did you already read my noob how to? I highly doubt that
Hello XDA,
I have a SGS I9000. I want to root it and I've been searching all day for a guide that isn't a one click root.
But I have a few questions about what everyone is talking about when they say JP2, JP3, etc.
Also, I'm running Froyo 2.2 and there doesn't seem to be much for it. Could someone please point me in the right direction?
if there is information about the phone that can help find where to go, just ask.
Thanks XDA.

You should 1st flash to 2.3 using odin (https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...i9000-flashing-to-original-rom-using-odin.46/), then root (https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...-i9000-rooting-gt-i9000-2-3-3-india-ddjv9.47/) and then you can proceed installation with ICS (https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...dwich-4-0-4-on-samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000.125/) or JB (https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/installing-jelly-bean-4-1-on-galaxy-s-gt-i9000.131/)

I didn't think it was that complicated.
In that case, could you suggest a oneclick application?

Hello,
i am back to rooting, because i want to check the latest Cyanogen.
Last time i rooted was with Moto Milestone, and thus i forgot probably some of the basics.
Is there an easy way now to root and install Cyanogen? I went to Cyanogen wiki, but seems to be even more complicated than before, based on their instructions.
Thanks in advance!

You'll want to include which model of phone you have as the instructions will be different for the XT1095 vs. Others.
OK thanks, from where do I see my exact model? I checked my device page but I don't see anywhere model info...
