Hello,i ran into this problem,i was using CM almost the entire time i had lg optimus 2x,but now after #170 update or so i noticed that camera really drops to about 10 fps when not in day light. Any1 experiencing this problem? I would like to know which ROM has the best camera support?
Thank you
Had same issue ... same on miui from 10.14 and up ... good framerate is only on stock mods and cm #160 and down and miui 10.8 ...

This is due to compensation. You trade in FPS for a better image.
The libcamera.so is responsible and has been changed on the 5th Octobre.
See here: https://github.com/koush/proprietary_vendor_lge/commits/gingerbread?path%5B%5D=p990&path%5B%5D=proprietary&path%5B%5D=lib&path%5B%5D=libcamera.so
I think you can just replace it. Just download the old one from the link above.
Though this might introduce other problems like not working skype.
Mate , how to replace that ?

Hello Everybody
I got an offer for LG Optimus in ebay for a good price.
The offer was well worth when comparing to it's specification.
But, i was searching about the mobile phone in internet to find out any major problems.
And i came across following issues.
Would lose network connectivity frequently for no apparent reasons
constant "Force Closure" messages.
Unstable Gingerbread update process.
On-screen keyboard frozen up occasionally
I heard that if we use LG Updater software, then there is no issues in upgrading to Gingerbread.
And i heard that Gingerbread update completely fixes the phone lockup and reboot problems, is it true ?
There is no GB update out yet....
Most of problems on this device are baseband related, and after 3 baseband update, its still not that good...

It's safe if you're willing to mould it into what you want.
If you want to use it as LG provide it, it's not so good.
Root. And flash a stable rom. Then its verry safe.
The downside is that when u drop it, the screen cracks really fast. The + side is that it is not that difficult to replace the gorilla glass by yourself. There is a nice vid of it on youtube.

Android Gingerbread update has been released for T-Mobile G2X http://www.phonearena.com/news/Gingerbread-update-for-the-T-Mobile-G2x-goes-live_id20543
Isn't T-Mobile G2X and LG Optimus 2X same ?
They're the same in North America, but not the rest of the world.
So, if i buy LG P999, Then is that T-Mobile version?
If so, if i install Gingerbread firmware in T-Mobile version of LG Optimus 2X, then would the major problems be rectified?
P999 is the T-Mobile G2X or the Wind Optimus 2X, the update should indeed help with some things, check out the G2X forum for info.
Had the Optimus 2x by one month and i tell you that i am very satisfied of him. I have a stock room with all the latest updates and i don't have problems of reset or keyboard. IF you don't use it much you can get more then 2 days of battery.
In Europe the T-mobile G2x is not the same with the lg optimus 2x. You probably broke your phone if you update it with the firmware of G2x

What are the baseband related issues and what are the consequence?

im now running FR19 fearkill edition 12.4 with the neoblaze OC kernel.. (smooth as butter)
the DJ droid seems to be a stable rom aswell
(the good thing about this phone is that there are plenty of roms to choose from,
i recommend the fearkill roms. eventually i always got back to them. (never hade anny trouble with them)
Does these Roms preserve LG customizations?
fearkill deleted a couple of them but u can add them. there is a link in his topic where u can download all the lg software and add them to the rom
Golden question - did GB on the G2X fix most issues?

Go ask in the G2X forum?
I think its a good choice, even on stock rom i had no problems butnon CM and Miui i did abit of baseband swapping to find the bestbin for them and everything is fine upgrading basebands has given me better signal..ect

For me O2x is a lol choice.

Baseband issues :
- calls quality are really bad (for me)
- lags appears when you install apps : the device becomes totally unusable (im wondering if there is a rom that fix this issue)
- wifi error durring connection establisment/ hspa drops connectivity with NO reason.
- Audio playback may lag quite randomly (probably due to stock rom)

The app install lag is gone in CM, and possibly MoDaCo ROMs.
Hi,
I set up the CyanogenMod-7.1.0 on my LG Optimus 2x and it's great but I would like to get my original camera application (with panorama option).
Anyone have this application ? (I haven't find an answer on the forum).
Thanks
Illandar
use Kostja_V camera mod here
That's perfect!!
THanks
Illandar
Does kojstaV's app records video more than 2 min without freezing ??
Is it same posted on temasek thread

The camera of my 2x is very blurry if the object is very close. Focus doesn't work, it only get's red. Barcode scanning for example is impossible...
I tried several camera apps and some camera mods, but without success. So I don't think the camera app causes the error.
The front camera works well! Is it possible to patch the main camera?
Thank you for your help!!

Say us about your setup. This is modding forum so i think, that you might have your own set up.
Hi!
I'm running Gueste 3.6 ROM, it's based on CM7. I use the standard LG camera app as well as the app from cyanogen.
It doesn't matter which app I use, if I take a picture from close it is blurry. Autofocus doesn't work too.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda app-developers app
I have the modded CM7 camera by Stefan I think. Its on the first page of Temasek CM7.
So I have the sane problem too. The only way I can manage close up pictures is by using manual focus and then adjusting from there.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda app-developers app
Manual focus doesn't work too. Maybe it's a problem with camera driver? Is there something like a driver in android?
A friend has the same device and same baseband and same rom, he has no problems at all... I don't understand that...

Quit the battery case ^^
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda app-developers app
I cleaned the case and the protection glass. Photos shot without battery case are blurry too.

Performance: CM10 wins here - regarding things like games, scrolling without lag, responsiveness of apps, etc. Especially the browser. I'd wager that even CM7 performs better than the official ICS, knowing LG's awful bloat.
Battery life: Official ICS (for now). P990 sources just dropped so many bugs with the SU660-based CM10 can be fixed quickly
I'd go with CM10 for now. But it's up to you.
Thank you! So i will keep the cm10
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
this really depends on what you want your phone for.
if you want to use it as a phone as well as everything else you state here. the custom V30a roms are better (no major reports of call bug)
as RC has not released the new kernel version of CM10, the call bug is still there, so for now thats still the major deciding factor to my testing or checking out CM10.
I dont have the call bug

Hi friends, anyone here have the same problem? When I start the camera app, this is so slow, and the slow focus is very disappointed.
Does anyone MOD camera ICS of LG Optimus 4X HD to focus faster?
I'm on stock ics 4.0.3 v10h, rooted and cwm installed.

I use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.cameraics
I found it better than stock.
Im already in v20a, but when i was in 10h, camera app was kinda slower than jb camera, at least opening it, but never faced what you are facing, maybe cleaning cache and data helps
