okay soooo i do that and let go when the LG logo comes up and it starts the bootloop and when i keep holding down it brings up this press power key to permanently erase user data & reset settings screen... soo do i do that?
It won't really erase anything when you get to that screen so don't worry about it, at least you're at the right screen. Confirm erase, go back into recovery and reflash

Hey guys,
my power button of my nexus is broken but that worked fine since I rooted my phone and used cyanogen to enable the wake up by using the trackball.
Anyways I tried to fix the broken power button and failed. This is why the VOID was removed and I don't have warranty.
Now I got stuck in a bootloop after I installed Gingerbread. I can boot into fastboot: Plugin USB, press trackball and remove and insert the battery. Next I can select the menu options using the volume control but I cannot choose an option because I have to use the broken power button
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Daniel
Flash recovery, system, data, etc via fastboot. That should get you to a working phone, then you can restore your latest backup...

finally I got fastboot running ...
I already flashed the latest Clockwork recovery image. Is there a chance to boot into that image using fastboot?
You could try:
fastboot boot recovery
Failing that, flash the system, data, etc from your backup...

Code:
fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.4-passion.img
downloading 'boot.img'... OKAY
booting... OKAY
works like a charm!!!
Thanks a lot.
I was downloading some apps.. and found marketenabler.. read a little about it and went to install it.. tried it out.. and then i tried installing apps, but for some reason it would stay in installation mode, so i backed out... did a couple others same thing.. and even tried to uninstall marketenabler cuz i thought that was the problem.. and it would keep me stuck on that uninstall mode..
So finally I ended up rebooting my phone... and now i'm stuck on the boot animation. I tried doing power button +volume down + 3d button but nothing worked
My phone is rooted, with current thriller..
any suggestions ?
Try re-flashing your rom
Hold volume down, 3d, and them hit power till lg logo, then release all, restore room from zip or wipe data, and start fresh.

I bricked my tablet after I tried to change my font using font installer by jrummy?
It asked me to restart for changes to occur so I figured if I restarted on my own it would work the same way so I hit cancel. I restarted about 1 minute after I hit cancel.
My tablet will boot up to the AT&T "Rethink possible" screen (after the animation).
It will get stuck there with a pattern of light vibrations between a couple seconds each.
Currently running the stock AT&T ics rom posted in the android dev section for i957.
I've tried to boot into recovery but the Samsung screen doesn't come up until I let go of the buttons therefore leading it to reboot again.
Also tried to go into the emergency download mode ( power, up, down) but it didn't work either.
I appreciate all and any advice, please and thank you!
My device is rooted if that wasn't already implied, I will provide any other details if needed, please help!!
Thanks again!
Are you sure you can't get into recovery mode? Hold power and volume up buttons, etc. Does Odin recognize the device?
Do you have a custom recovery, and if so which one, or is it stock.

keep trying to get into download mode or recovery. should be possible. the font change will not affect recovery.
I was also performing a backup with titanium backup when I restarted does that make a difference?
I have clockwork mod recovery.
From experience, I can only go into recovery if the Samsung logo pops up for a milli second and I let go.
I actually haven't tried to see if Odin recognizes my device but I assumed if I couldn't go into download mode it wouldn't.

Were you restoring apps from a honeycomb Rom? That will cause a soft brick.

If you can get into recovery do a factory reset. That should get you out of a soft brick. You'll have to re-install your apps though.

Didnt see if you worked your way out of this or not. You may have to hold 3 finger salute (power, up, down) for up to 16 seconds. My guess is that covers the 8 seconds to reboot through any hang up plus up to 8 more to boot to menu.
Still no luck, the computer is not detecting my tablet.
I also wasn't restoring, I was just backing up my data. I'm letting it charge for now, anyone know what else I should do?
I really can't enter recovery OR download.
**** UPDATE****
Okay guys I finally fixed it. Will post details if anyone is still interested.
I'd be interested in the details.

How did you do?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using xda app-developers app
I couldn't go into download mode until I did some weird trick with the buttons.
I had to hold the 3 buttons ( power, vol up, vol down) for a couple seconds.. like 6 seconds
THEN hold power and vol up for 2 secs
THEN back to power, vol up, vol down.
I did it by accident cuz I was frustrated but it ended up working so all is good
Thanks for all the help guys!!
I am in the Same Boat!

The fix has already been posted. :good:
Hello, I recently had the xposed framework on my rooted (but on stock rom) HTC one. I removed the framework, but when I restarted my phone, it got stuck at the logo screen and will not enter recovery from power + vol down, nor restart. What can I do to break out of this? It is not a cycle where the phone keeps booting, rather in just stays in one state.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: When I hold the power + vol down keys, the back and home lights flash but nothing happens

Wha...how...I have no idea why this works, but it does, that's amazing!
However, it still freezes when i reboot. What do you suggest? Reflash the stock rom? I've read some thread that say an "erase cache" via ADB is necessary?
Reflash stock rom. If you removed framework, then it wont boot

Thank you both very much! Just wanted to say after sideloading the rom in TWRP everything is running okay!
I have the t679 on tmobile and qm qttempting to get root/install cwm.
I do not have access to a pc qnd so am unable to get into stock recovery the 'easy' way.
I saw instructions on holding down the up volume button qnd power buttin, then releasing the power button after the first white samsung logo appears. i hqvr tried this many times to no avail.
I will not have access to a computer for the forseeable future. Does this mean i am stuck on stock 2.3.5 or is their actually a way to boot into stock recovery right from the phone?
Thanks !

I have a quick question about this. I have never done any of the holding buttons down while you reboot nonsense to get to recovery. If I hold in the power button I get a menu. I can shut down, restart, go into recovery or start the bootloader. I just select recovery and hit restart. It boots into TWRP. Am I missing something? It seems to have worked fine with my latest rom. Maybe this situation explains the trouble i was having loading AOIP.

Once in recovery factory reset and clear dalvik flash rom and gapps
I did that. Cleared everything twice and flashed the ROM. Did not flash gapps, as everything was buggy.
