Overclocking makes device faster... Are you using any custom rom or not? For set Cpu to work you must flash overclocking kernels first (which are only available for stock roms)

Aren't they available for custom roms, not stock roms?
dont use setcpu, use cpu master its better
and which OC u use, which rom?

some of this oc i use 806mhz and on cm7 music edition v1.0 i got like 2100 score on antutu benchmark
how about GB 2.3.4 stock rom? anyway to overclock it?

have you tried with RC2?
to oc you mini steps are here
1. upgrade to gingerbread firmware i will recommend xxkpi firmware
2. partition your sdcard with the help of clockworkmod recovery partition it according to your sdcard i will recommend you to partition it to 256 mb on a 8 gb memory card it is sufficient swap size is optional it can be your virtual memory of ram (partitioning your sd card will format it completely so first save your data)
3. after it flash cm7.2.0 rc2 rom created by squadzone.
4. fash smartboot kernel created by squadzone.
that's it you have oc your mini

Hi all
I 've wildfire with root access .I tried to flash it with all custom ROMS's, only CyanogenMod run after reststart but wasn't stable, others couldn' t even start after reboot. Loaded kernels ,without OC dosn't help. I only need try OC .Can it be done without reflashing whole ROM ??
Ok done with Jacob Kernel
So far stable on 652MHz .Visible speed difference in google maps

My HTC switches off casualy on 768Mhz i think this is too high for any Wildfire
Mine seems stable now at max 652mhz and min 245mhz ... i get like 3.8 mflops and I think thats nice?
Mine works fine on cyanogenmod with oc 768 mhz
i have a question do you have to flash a custom ROM to OC your wildfire?
or can you just have the ROM you got when you bought your phone root the phone and then flash OC kernel?

How to..
Hi, how do I overclock? I mean, what app do I have to use? I also find a picture showing the temperature in the status bar - maybe it is also possible to show the speed as well.
M.
buy SetCpu from android market
Mines can do 748mhz ,but if i set 768mhz,it can't boot and become a "soft brick"(use clockwork mod recovery to recover it)
I use cyanogen mod 7 #17
I found 691 to be most stable for every ROM i tried so far. SetCpu can be found free somewhere in the XDA forum.

use the semaphore app to set low memory value to 64 mb, more free memory means less lag when you run something. you get another 15mb or so witb bm kernel. The govenor basically controls how fast or slow the cpu runs and reacts to demand. Smartassv2 is responsive, especially with sio i/o scheduler. use semaphore app to set readahead to say 512mb, you might also like the more sensitive screen.

I thought that with the "bm" kernal you lose HD recording.
You do lose hd recording, but you can still get great videos. If you do need full hd recording, flash non bm semaphor, after recording, flash bm back. Its very easy with sgs flasher

I have only 600Mhz.
I cant overclock only underclock, even with OC-Kernel.
The problem is on Stock Firmware 2.3.3 and Costoum Roms.
Is there a Hardware-Bug or what else?
Not all chips are made to the same quality. They only have to reach a certain clock speed to pass quality checks. Certain devices can be overclocked due to being of higher quality.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Yes but the default clock of the ACE is 800Mhz right? But MY default clock is 600Mhz.
I dont have any options to overclock only from 124Mhz - 600Mhz.
The default clock of 800Mhz would be ok for me..
You sure its a ace? Galaxy fit / mini & 551 / europa are 600mhz MSM7227 vs 800mhz MSM7227-t 800mhz galaxy gio / ace.
Yes! Its definitely a ACE i have the Samsung box here .. and there are a big label Galaxy ACE "800Mhz CPU"
Which rom are you using? Did you have the same problem on stock rom?
Do you have setcpu, if you do go on Info ; CPU what does it say ; Cpu Part / Cpu Revision / Hardware / Revision ?
If problem presist then go to Samsung service centre and change your phone dude

Hi @Cr0nFixXx!...
It would seem to me that your problem is your Kernel... The details in your first thumbnail show the kernel to be that of a different dev to @Ketut...!!! Your OC Kernel details should read as this : 2.6.35.7-perf-CL562111 [email protected]#4
The frequencies of the Cpu are governed solely by the kernel, so this is without a doubt your limiting factor...
The below kernel is tried & tested by thousands of users & is stable under OC...(check my sig for details)...
You can download this kernel from my dropbox here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44779766/cm-7.1-oc-kernel-2.6.35.7-perf-CL562111.zip
Flash this kernel from CWM recovery... Reboot phone, go to cyanogen setting/Performance & you should get the full cpu range for OC...
To see stable max OC set governor to "Performance"... Remember, only increase cpu frequency a little at a time & test for stability before increasing further...
Only when you have found your max stable clock speed can you tick "set on boot"...
FYI : OC kernels can only be used with custom roms... They will not work with stock roms... @Ketut's OC kernel will only work with CM7.1 / 7.2 Roms... Do not try with any other rom...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky...
Pe"ACE"...
Thanks for your help but .. same problem
I even cant get it to 800Mhz Default Clock

Hey Dude...
This is a very strange problem indeed... The Armv6 cpu is standard 600mhz cpu but samsung factory OC it when it is used in our aces... so we end up with an end-user frequency of 806mhz... Yours won't even reach that out of the box...?
Do me a favour... Flash this rom here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44779766/IceCreamSundayFinal_Tweaked.zip
It is IceCreamSunday Final by @Jusada... It is considered the fastest & most stable rom available on XDA & the OC kernel is inclusive of the rom...
Once flashed, go to cyanogenmod settings, performance, cpu & tell me what frequencies you get offered...?
FYI : It doesn't matter what your baseband or firmware version is... Ensure that you are using CWM 5 to flash with... Also ensure that before flashing you do a full system, cache, data, Dalvik wipe to ensure a clean flash... This rom is 7.2 btw...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky...

I dont know whats my phones problem but it dont worked for me -.- even max. 600Mhz...
But great thanks for your help!
LoL the first thing that entered my mind is "maybe samsung forgot to overclock" my suggestion is go to samsung and tell them to overclock that.. or simply say it's defective
approach samsung and get new phone..
man if it showing 600 dont overclock
as overclock can damage your cell
be happy with what you are having

but he should get 800 which he paid for
hey wait isnt ace's cpu like the 600mhz ones but only OC'ed to 800?
I'm done explaining
A fault with the processor probably.. ARMv6 anyway has 600Mhz by default and Ace has been factory overclocked to 800Mhz.. which is the simple reason why each Ace is so different and has so many problems regarding battery life. Overclocking is a delicate procedure..
To the point:
Just take it to the service center to get what you paid for!

You should probably check in the Alliance Thread if it's supported and works ok, but I remember from my GB days that Abyss 4.2 (Redpill Touch) was about the best kernel you could flash for our Note...
Also when you say "overclock to 400 MHz"...I suppose that you're talking about the minimum frequency. You can overclock your minimum frequency with mostly any kernel that has root.
I use AnTuTu CPU Master from the Play Store. It's free and really easy and intuitive to use.

The only one I know of that allows GPU over clocking and voltage control is Thor kernel. Not found on xda as the creator is persona non grata. Google it.
I use the app Voltage Control to specify frequency and voltage settings, very useful. Give it a try.

N7000 Intl

Your kernel has to allow you to do that and you have to use a program like cpu master, or You can search for overclocking in the settings.

The only way to overclock the n7000 worth mentioning

For gaming, i recommend:
Also, depending on how you use the phone you might want to underclock(and/or undervolt) the cpu (to avoid thermal throttle) and overclock the gpu (400 mhz works great on my phone, compared to stock 260)
For browsing the web and stuff like that:
consider overclocking the cpu to 1500-1600 (even 1650 has proven possible on my phone.)
try NX kernel (only for 4.2.2) or speedmod kernel.
for me samsung latest update is better for gaming because it has updated driver for mali (and you can use Titanium backup to freeze samsung's unwanted apps)

I am on asylum rum.
However, on this ROM, my GPU does not scale properly. So for gaming its not great.
NX kernel is great for gaming, unfortunately it's a bit dated.
In my opinion cm 4.3-based Roms work well.
But , changing ROM does not have as big an effect compared to overclocking the GPU.
