My kaiser's power button is dead,,,How can I active the screen without power button? Sorry for my poor English.
Easy, just rewrite the kernel with ATools and under the button mapping part assign a new button.
I assigned the "end" button as well as the power button (there is an option for this inside a box to the left), that way I can wake my phone with either the power or end button.
Hope this helps...

Hi
I have some questions about „Buttons“…
For me, the on/off (power) button is too small and sometimes hard to press so I wish to use for example the volume button to do the same. Is that possible?
First:
Does it matter in terms of battery life if I press the On/Off button for standby or if I lock the device by pressing the “red” button?
Second:
How can I define the hardware buttons? I don’t get along with the “buttons” menu in the settings and I couldn’t figure it out with the “AE Button” tool.
Thanks!
can anybody confirm the following d-pad problem:
if you wakeup your phone from suspend- and locked-mode by pressing the power button, then tap on any app where you can test the functionality of the "center button" e.g. outlook.
if you press the center-button once, nothing happens
if you press the button the second time, the phone finally responds
after that, the center button behaves normally.
thnx
I was wondering if there was a way to re-map the power button to the OK button so when i want to turn on my x1 screen instead of pressing the power button i press the Ok button or maybe another button?
would this be possible? thanks,
Not sure about the re-mapping, but there's a setting under settings>system>key lock that lets you wake up the device by pressing any hardware key.
I need this too!
Have you tried with one of the several button/key mapping tools available?
Did you tried long pressing end call button? Mine locks screen...
Cheers!
Edit: Try AE Button Plus to map your keys.
Hello,
I have a Telus Milestone and the power button seems to have malfunctioned. It seems to be randomly sending presses to the phone. The screen will randomly turn on and off and bring the power button hold menu.
When booted into recovery at the exclamation mark screen, the phone will randomly turn off as if the power button was pressed.
Is there any way to remap the power button in android to do nothing, and then remap the camera button to act as the power button? Thanks!

Click to collapse
AFAIK a simple remap of the power button could not be done in software.
The power button is not like the other buttons.
It is physically connected to special signal on PMU to suspend and resume the CPU.
If you got some technical skill, it might be physically replaced by soldering.
Also have a look at your flex cable which is connected to the outter buttons, maybe there's some physical damage.

The power button on my LG G Flex is not working correctly.
The power button will turn on the phone every time however it will not turn off the phone (turn off the screen). I have to double tap the screen to turn it off.
When the home screen (or some kind of app) is illuminated and I press the power button the volume raises.
I know the up volume and the power button are close to each other and knowing this I really try to precisely press the power button and not the volume button however I cannot get the power button to turn off the screen.
If I hold the power button down for 10 seconds I can get the "Power off in 5 seconds" screen to appear.
I believe it is a SOFTware issue.
Any suggestions???
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
