Hi all,
i have been using this forum for some months after I got my amazing android phone. I am happy there is finally competition for good phones that are not iphones. I do not like apple's way of doing business and definitely the smugness of most people who get an iphone and think their coolness has gone off charts.
You know what I mean? People who have a need to show off their iproducts in public? I am so happy i have an android. Android people are so much fun to talk to and cool to discuss wasy to improve their phone.
Apple's best product has been the ismug What do you think? do you know what i am talking about?
Message to the moderator: i hope this is the right forum(if not please move it)
that is so true! i personally appreciate the quality of apple products, however i believe that apple products are incredibly overpriced, and their biggest advantage is their biggest downfall: Apples iron grip on their software
Lemme tell you a short story.
I am on a trip to Athens the other day and,as everyone in a large city,I used the subway to go to my destination.Entering the train,I found a seat next to a guy who looked like being 20-25 years old.He didn't seem geeky at all in fact.I sat next to him,but then he did something he shouldn't have.He pulled an iPhone 4 out of his pocket!Oh sh!t.There was also a girl sitting right in front of us,in a seat looking towards us.She told him "Nice phone you have there"(She had an old Sony Ericsson btw).He found a chance to show off then. And then, after I had lost my temper,I pulled my Galaxy S 2 out of my pocket and started playing with it.He looks at it,his eyes go wider than usual and awe was obvious in his expression. The girl(a beauty in fact) turns to my side and says "Your phone is nicer than the iPhone".Then I started to show off.The games, the screen, the effects, everything was better. That iSmug next to me turned white and got off at the next stop. The girl and I had a...nice time after that btw.
And what's the moral of the story?Android ftw!
Tolis that is an amazing story.
i think the only way to strike back at the apple cult is to make fun of their smugness
ps hi from thessaloniki
ps 2 Galaxy S ii is great
Most of the people think iProducts are COOL. It has now become a factor of an individual's "coolness".
Then someone pulls out their android phone and they're like, "Is that samsung?", "Bleh".
I am bored of listening: you have a Samsung? It looks like an iclone...;
Haha, Tht was funny and intersting at the same time

This douchebag in my boy scout troop once compared his 80 gigabyte iPod to my 2 gigabyte Samsung YP-T9. Another person pulled out his 8 gig Nano and harassed me about mine being inferior. Got into a fight and quit scouting for good. Mine had an FM radio and Bluetooth.
Just wanted to make sure everyone here is up to date on flash mob robberies, they are halarious, if you dont know about them yet check out you-tube and watch a few videos.
Basicaly the idea of a flash mob has turned from random bits of dance and entertainment to 50-100 people simotaniusley robbing/looting random corner stores and gas stations. I do not condone these acts (while I do think the videos are entertaining) and thought others may like to share opinions on this, so what do you guys think? I say its not long before a store owner pulls a weapon on these fools and we see mass casualties in a 7-11, how else are they gonna defend themselves against such a thing?
Is this happening in other counties or is this more of a U.S. based thing as of yet?
Please share which vidoes you find the most entertaining!!!!
(video for those unfamiliar)
I don't find anything remotely funny about small business owners being robbed by gangs of morons who deserve nothing more than being put against a wall and shot, one after the other, in the knee-caps.
I hope somebody does exactly that. On camera. Perhaps THEN i will laugh.

Sorry I still see the entertainment value in these videos (big fan of worlds dumbest lol). However I believe we are on the same page, that the next progression is going to be a store owner shooting at these groups of wild teens looting there store, untill than whats stopping them? The thought process must be "they cant catch all of us" I guess, but im not sure why nobodys wearing masks, idiots must not understand that there are cameras almost everywhere. Imagine if you were a cop and were first on scene to one of these calls best bet might be to baragade your cruiser against the door and lock them all in untill backup arrives, however that locks the loanly clerk and any possible legit patrons inside as posible hostages. Could you imagine going in to pay for gas or buy some smokes and 50+ kids run in and start looting the place!

Yeah. Great, some store owner shoots one and the rest beat him to death...
That's entertainment alright..........
As someone who very regularly has to deal with the kind of moron who thinks its acceptable to steal from and threaten those who work in customer service I do not find this remotely funny.
I see, all too often just how badly the people that do these jobs can be affected by even a minor incident and something such as this could have serious repercussions on the life of a completely innocent person who is not insured against any loss or injury and will receive nothing in compensation should they find themselves unable to work afterwards.
By simply reposting these videos you are glorifying these acts and only inciting more of this kind of action by the type of mindless cretins who make life difficult for those of us who work hard to earn a living.

Meh... understood. I did actually find myslef wondering why such videos remain on youtube, thinking along the same lines that actually seeing such a video would only insight further flash mob robberies sparking the mind of wasted youth. However that is enough self reflection into myself and will be reserved for another day when I feel more like looking back onto things I may or may not have done, that may or may not have been the "best choices"
I started this thread in thoughts of conversation and nothing more, please do not mistake this as approval to such acts

It's OK, you did call them fools after all, and you do raise the point that it won't be long before it turns really ugly, i.e, loss of life ugly. Had anybody thought you were glorifying the acts the thread would be closed by now!
As CTM said, these things can only go south. The robbers come with knives, so owners buy guns and before long the robbers have guns. It's exactly what's happened in the USA, and as much as the gun advocates, i.e NRA members, defend their position.. it's completely illogical. The argument is cyclical. You defend your home with a BB Bat, robbers bring knives. You buy a knife, robbers bring guns. You buy a gun and before long your kid has accidentally shot himself to death.
The arguments go back and forth while the only clear and logical answer is to smelt every single fkin gun in existence. Fortunately it's the one thing the UK government here at home has gotten right.
The only guns should belong to the Army and Specialist Police forces. Beyond that, they shouldn't even be made. The only reason these cocky little ****es think they can get away with robbing innocent people is because most people are too sensible to start an arms race where nobody wins. And most people are too decent to shoot somebody, even when they themselves are being robbed.
Personally, i have no such reservations. I would kill each and every one of the bastards given the chance. Which is exactly why we have gun control here!

I would swing like Babe Ruth if i thought a direct hit would save the life of someone i loved!
Tony Martin was jailed because we don't have the 'Castle doctrine' in this country. The biggest mistake he made wasn't to open fire on the assholes who tried to rob him. It was missing, and then not burying the bodies that messed up his life!

It's the law that you have in the US that say's you have the right to protect yourself in your own home, against those that would trespass or do harm against you on your property.
Somebody breaks into your home and you shoot them? Their fault!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_doctrine
Sadly even this can lead to f**k ups of epic proportions. Take for instance new US laws that allow for entry to a property by law enforcement without the need for a warrant, or for announcing "Police..come out with your hands up..."
Tragically, a recent case highlighted the flaws in this. Police went to an ex-Marines house, on false evidence that he was supplying drugs. Rather than knock on the door they tried to break it down. He thought that his home was being invaded, so to protect his family to picked up his rifle and opened fire on the 'intruders'. He was shot forty times.
What would you have done?
If neither he, or the police were packing guns, everyone would have lived!

That's what I thought you were referring to, and yes it is an epic fail, no matter how "justified" you are I doubt it's ever worth it. I have a friend who shot and killed an intruder, no charges ever filled however I know he well never be the same. Partially in a good way as his life wasn't always on the up and up and has since in ways changed for the better for both him and his family, but we'll never be the same.

These videos and the acts portrayed within are just terrible. I for one believe we need more small "mom and pop" stores, not less. Acts like these can very well cause someone innocent to be hurt (the morons doing these things NEED to be hurt....but I digress....) and drive these small stores out of business. Terrible, just terrible.

Naw, I'm sure. I don't normally do this, but I felt like something was up, so I snooped her FB. Found a convo between her and this guy talking about their feelings for each other. She might not be banging him, but feelings are maybe worse.
I couldn't ever let my kids know anything - my parents used me and my sisters as weapons in their divorce, I won't do it.
I believe that you have to take some ownership if your significant other cheats - People cheat because they have a need that isn't being met. So I take some responsibility. It still feels a little like being punched in the stomach.

Yes people do cheat cause they are missing something from the relationship, but that isn't your fault. If there was something wrong with your relationship it was both duty to sit and talk about it or maybe search for council. If there wasn't nothing wrong with the two of you, then it's her entire fault, and once again she had the duty to sit and talk with you about it.
And piece of advice, don't just patronize cause of the kids, it will be mush worse. Go to her, talk with her and explain what you just found out. After that both of you make a decision. In case of divorce, at least try to make it the most friendly as possible...
I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through...
I'm a very jealous man and even non issue things drive me insane.
Obviously you can't deal and live with her doing this and be a normal family forever... Take it one day at a time and think it through.
Maybe go see a Counselor or something to talk, many local counties have a department of health and human services where most services are free or low cost where they don't charge you to start and bill you according to your income.
It's very private and uplifting.
. I used them for aoda for some personal issues I had. If you need anyone to talk to, you can pm me.
Also if you have some type of cash or homes /property, please start checking out divorce attorneys and only attorneys that specialize in divorce, preferably a male firm.

It shouldn't of been a issue because it was her past but I knew she was lying and that was my issue.

also in some states like Indiana and Colorado adultery is illegal
On the books
Excerpts from state adultery laws:
South Carolina: “Any man or woman who shall be guilty of the crime of adultery or fornication shall be liable to indictment and, on conviction, shall be severally punished by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500 or imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than one year or by both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court. ...‘Adultery’ is the living together and carnal intercourse with each other or habitual carnal intercourse with each other without living together of a man and woman when either is lawfully married to some other person.”
Minnesota: “When a married woman has sexual intercourse with a man other than her husband, whether married or not, both are guilty of adultery and may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than one year or to payment of a fine of not more than $3,000, or both.”
North Carolina: “Fornication and adultery. If any man and woman, not being married to each other, shall lewdly and lasciviously associate, bed and cohabit together, they shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor: Provided, that the admissions or confessions of one shall not be received in evidence against the other.”
New Hampshire: “A person is guilty of a class B misdemeanor if, being a married person, he engages in sexual intercourse with another not his spouse or, being unmarried, engages in sexual intercourse with another known by him to be married.”

The laws differ in each state and it's a real Grey area.
How do we know she didn't leave her fb open?
Some states allow call recording in court with only one party knowing.
. I believe in a relationship, let alone marriage, that everything should be open, accessible and on the table. but everyone is different.
. I personally would start some spy stuff. There are apps in the play store that secretly install and forward all texts received and sent and if it's your bill and your name on the account its legal.
It's your life and future, along with your children's lives at stake.
Need more information pm me for the app names.
Gps trackers are small and magnetic and are easily hidden.
If it's your car It's also legal.
It's your life.

Good thing too, because all the original drawings were destroyed in a fire a few years ago. I'm glad I went through with getting them tattooed.

That's behind every tat on me. It's gotta mean something and you've got to believe it will always mean something,
Good and bad are not quantifiable things. You can't measure goodness. There is no such thing as a "good" reason. There are only reasons. So anybody who has a reason has a "good" reason. It's not done for you to agree with it.
I don't see a good reason. When I see people with tattoos, I don't think of them in a good way. It just looks stupid. That's just me though.

My humble opinion...
There's no real answer. My first tattoo was a giant 8-bit pixelated Mega Man on my leg. I got it because when I was a kid, my pops lost his business in Boston and we were stuck moving down to Florida where my grandparents lived. We moved into their 2-bedroom "manufactured" home in the middle of a retirement community. My folks saw that my brother and I had no kids in the neighborhood to play with, so they got us an NES and a copy of Mega Man 2 for Christmas that year. I played that game for months on end, well past the point where my parents were obviously annoyed with the music in the game. For that first few months until my family got back on its collective feet, Mega Man was my best friend. Fast forward almost 20 years later, I decided I wanted to get a tattoo, and the Blue Bomber was my choice. I was actually a little afraid that when I went back to visit my mom, she was going to freak out about me getting inked. But instead, she immediately recognized it and even thought it was a great tattoo to get.
The moral of this story? The only reason that matters is the one you rationalize yourself. To most people, a Mega Man tattoo is a silly and nerdy thing to do. To me, it's a silly and nerdy thing to do that reminds me of how much my parents cared about my happiness as a child, no matter what. I'm happy with it, and I couldn't care less if the rest of the world doesn't see or know the reason for it. Every tattoo I have means something to me, and I'm the only one who needs to know it.
I personally cannot think of a reason I'd get one. Other than the military pride that was mentioned because of the whole brotherhood the army gives you. I just don't see myself getting one, but I've heard quite a good amount of reasons for others.

I think there is no good reason simply because it's hard to remove a tattoo if you don't like this tattoo any more.

anyway, well one good reason to get a tattoo would be because you are extremely compassionate about art.
well that's my reason.. i'm planning to get an awesome tat on my nape as soon as i turn 18 or something, but that tat has to have a significant meaning to my life of course

Twenty years on and i hate my tattoos now. Given the choice i would still have tattoos in the same places, but they would be different tattoos. Therein lies the problem though. Your tastes change from year to year as you yourself change, but tattoos are permanent.
I agree with Card83 and a few others that have said, it's should mean something to you, not just something that is cool at the time like a barb wire arm band because you will come to hate it.

Well ive always said i would only have my kids names on me.
And when my son was born I had his name tattooed onto my chest. And if i have any more kids then i will be putting there names on my chest aswell.
But apart from that i will not be having any other tattoo on me as anything else wont mean anything to me apart from "looking nice"
A friend of mine got the name of his best friend tattooed inside his wrist when said best friend took his own life two years ago. As a way to remember, and a reminder. They were very close.
And there are always more practical reasons for tattoos. You just don't always consider them. There are a lot of soldiers who get their data tattooed on various bodyparts, just in case. IED's really don't care if you want to keep you bodyparts attached, and thus the tattoos makes IDing easier.
Personally I don't have any. I'm not on good terms with needles.
I asked my person of interest for the first time in my life. We met in a group discussion which went for 2 weeks and I had a liking for her from 1 month ago. When I asked, she was nice about it and said no and that we should stay friends. I shrugged it off and said OK, thanks for being nice.
The problem is that, I can't think of anything else now, I know that the world isn't ending just because 1 person rejected me. However I can not stop myself and it is turning me into a depressed wreck. How do you guys deal with it? What is your story?

Every experience with a person of the opposite sex, whether friendship or romance, is a lesson to learn to prepare you for meaningful relationships later, such as marriage. Learn from it and move on. Remember, being friends with girls is good, because they have other friends who are girls, and may try to hook you up.

You've had a strong mating reaction to a member of the opposite sex. Your body has released a flood of dopamine into your brain so you will feel vaguely sick and your appetite will be suppressed.
I suggest playing Counter Strike for twelve hours a day until your brain functions return to normal.
I find distraction is the best reaction in this situation your mind will get over it with time, and not much else. So keep yourself busy while you wait! Play some games you've not played in a long time, (like counter strike as suggested above ), or do you have any android projects you have always wanted to try like making a custom Rom, or beta test some non stable roms for some devs, I also recommend going for a long walk. It sounds to simple to make any difference but a long walk can give your mind a chance to rattle things out and come to terms with things lastly your right, the worlds not going to end for some girl, so don't beat yourself up about it your only human and we have good and bad experiences, just be glad that ones over

Listen to this man, he is wise beyond his years. I'm 34, and have had my share of rejection. I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but you will get over it. Just concentrate on you for the time being.

When a study about love was carried out, scientists put subjects in an MRI scanner and looked to see what was going. They would show the subjects pictures of somebody they loved to see which areas of the brain were activated and then show them pictures of somebody they hated. The same areas of the brain were activated in both cases.
Right now you're suffering because of feelings of love for this girl, but when you start to hate her for rejecting you, the feelings that you have, and the reaction your brain has to it will be exactly the same. Either way it's angst and despair.
Love=Hate. Get your head around that!

The OP did ask how people here deal with rejection, so perhaps one of you married guys could answer that? My understanding is that wives say no all the time!
The tried and true method would be Alcohol of course. That's what guys usually turn to at these difficult times. To find out how that works, it's best to imagine the alcohol as Pac-Man running through your arteries, chomping away at all the nasty hormones until it's cleared all the levels. Once you're good and drunk all the hormones are gone, leaving you with a strange urge to eat a greasy lamb kebab, and a minging headache in the morning.

I prefer to let her drink alcohol, and much away at her hormones, and hopefully get her to stop rejecting me. Of course, it could backfire depending on the time of the month and poor choice of words or actions on your part, which of course you know you did a week later in some random argument... You know what, a beer sounds good right now.....

Time *will* make it easier. Think back to anything else in your life that brought you down, from simple things like not being able to buy that brand new game you wanted because you didn't have enough cash, right through to the more serious things in life, like losing friends and/or family and suffering grief. Think about those things and how it felt like you'd never get over them (depending on the seriousness of whatever it is you're thinking of), and then think about how you feel about it now. You'll realise that things just do get better over time.
Incidentally, I personally wouldn't take the advice to drink through it. Alcohol lowers certain chemical levels in the brain for days after that regulate how you feel. You can do yourself serious damage that way and turn a temporary problem into clinical depression, not to mention the fact that relying on alcohol for anything is a recipe for disaster.

What is the real reason behind your depression
1- You were rejected
2- You cant be with her anymore, and i am pretty sure you can't be friends

Hey, men have been drinking because of women since the dawn of time. It's why we invented the pub!
The OP isn't 'depressed', he has a sad.

I know what you're saying, and I wasn't trying to be heavy or down on what you said, but without moderation it *can* become depression with the addition of alcohol, over long term. A few nights cutting loose is obviously a totally different thing though.
I've personally known people start off just a bit low and end up fully depressed because of alcohol. It's unfortunately a very slippery slope as it *does* make you feel better when you're drinking, but leaves you lower than you started for a few days afterwards, which can lead to another drink because, "Hey, it worked last time, right?" And rinse and repeat. Sad becomes depressed becomes clinically depressed, and that can last for life if not treated correctly.
Anyway, this is far too heavy and now I'm having a sad. There's always the old adage, that the easiest way to get over someone is to get under someone else

And with that the OP gets the best solution to his problem! :good:
I wouldn't seriously encourage anyone to drink to resolve issues. I'm a teetotaller myself so i find crying into my cornflakes works best for me when i'm blue, or going down the gym and pumping iron for an hour or two. We'll go with the latter one as it sounds more manly!

He who dares wins Milad, he who dares wins. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Alcohol is a short term solution, and has long terms impact.
I would recommend you to just stay busy, go out hang out. Play games( yes it does work)
dont rely on alcohol.

Believe it or not, this Tuesday, in a social gathering at my university, a girl approached and talked to me. I didn't get her number in the end though. It was getting awkward when I said 'I should be going' and left for home. But it was the first of many things for me.

Practice makes perfect. With a little more practice you'll be getting girls' numbers, then their address...oh wait. :what:
Yeah, I've been there but at least this girl of yours was nice about it and told you politely and even wanted to remain friends. The girl I fell for just ignored me completely and blocked me on all social media . My advice ? Go out with your mates. Hit the gym. Spend time with the family. Take up a new hobby. Video game a little. Just do something to take your mind off her . It's the holidays, cheer up
