Corporate Sync Device Admin Removal - Motorola Droid Bionic

I recently stopped working for my last employer. I had a corporate sync set up.
I can remove the account find, however when after removing the account I wanted to go ahead and remove them as a system admin since they obviously will not be needing admin privs on my phone because I am not using their email.
This doesnt seem possible for some reason, there is no check box next to it in the system admins list, and when I tap on it the option to deactivate is greyed out.
This is on a bionic running stock 2.3.4
Anyone have any ideas?

Yep.

[Q] Possible Droid OTA 2.2 Update Issue

I normally hang out in the Nexus area as that is my current phone.
However my boss, Director of IT here at work has a Droid. Her phone today got the notification about the push to 2.2. Her phone is stock, (not rooted) and she followed the directions for the update.
Things went well however there was an app that she used for Exchange Synchronization that no longer appears to be on her phone. It was what she used for syncing email and her calendar. She is still getting notifications but it appears that they are items that this app synced with the Google Calendar.
So with this OTA official 2.2 build for the Droid did they get rid of the corporate exchange synchronization that originally shipped with the phone?
It has been so long since I have been on an official build that I don't know what it came with. I use Touchdown for my Exchange sync.
Thanks
You should just be able to use the integrated corporate account setup on the Droid. Go to settings accounts and you should be able to pick Corporate and then just plug in your settings.

some are getting the ota 2.2 but some aren't
You think the rooting could impair it? My wifes phone updated this morning but mine hasn't yet. Ne ideas?

She doesn't like the Google calendar. She liked the old Corporate one that came with the Droid. It seems to be gone though. Anyone else loose it?

Yea, when you root your phone you typically break the OTA updates. This is done on purpose so you don't loose root with an update. Typically there is a way to go back to the official build but I don't know what that is on the Droid as I don't have one.

The calendar app now includes Google and Corporate Calendar into just Calendar now.

[Q] Bionic Email Sync Question

New Bionic owner here. Loving the phone! Coming from many other droids.... most recent the Atrix 4G w/AT&T. Never had the following problem before:
I use Exchange. I have no need for my email to be pushed to me, or for any kind of automatic fetching. So, just as with many other devices before, I've turned off push and I've set fetch to manual. YET, my email continues to be pushed to me automatically as if push was turned on. Can't seem to figure out what I might be missing.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Under email settings> email delivery> data push make sure the correct account does not have a check next to it. If that isn't it I would delete the account and start again. Is the account exchange, pop3, etc.?

The problem definitely seems to be with the folder sync options under email delivery. The inbox does not give an option for "manual"... only "background". Im thinking of deleting the account and installing fresh.
When you set up the account did you use corporate sync or email?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Im not sure.... is there a difference?
Can you tell me if there is a difference between setting up my Exchange email through the corporate sync method versus through the email app settings? I want to wipe the account off of my phone & start from scratch, so I need to know if there is a difference between the two methods. Thanks!

[Q] Default account on Android market

Anyone having issues with the Android market switching default accounts for the market to the first one in alphabetical order? I have three accounts on my N1, let's call them john, mary and pete. When I first logged in to the phone (after a clean install), I used pete to sign in on the first screen. I then added the mary and john accounts. Now, more recently, when I open the market, it defaults to john, and not pete. I know others are have the issue in other devices (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1283644)
Anyone know of a fix?
Mine has been having similar issues, but on mine, it isn't being done alphabetically. In fact, the email address is located in the middle of my accounts, and the name of the account the furthest from the beginning of the alphabet.
No clue on how to fix it

It seems to default to the last account that had mail when synced.

Now that you mentioned it. It does seem pretty random.

Yeah I have been having the same issues. I now have two applications tied to my secondary account and it is very annoying. :/
Seems to keep switching to the most recently added account...
Having the same issues, it also asks me to install an app I already have under my main account. This is stupid
It's a bug in the new market. My LG G2X is doing that also. Only happens when I click on updates found in the notification bar. Very annoying.
Hmm, mine stays on the first-added Google account even after later adding two more Google accounts to the phone. You guys running stock ROMs? I'm on CM7...

I'm running stock. As jboxer mentioned, it only happens when I click on the "updates available" in the notification bar.

That is impressive fanz... Not sure I want to know how you are managing that
Mine has been hit and miss. It started auto-updating apps for my secondary account (which I never had tied to the market) one day, and now I can't get those apps to update under my main account. I am about to completely remove that secondary account, because it is really annoying.

F*ing Swype.
Not sure if this solved the problem but it hasn't done it since I did this.
-Use Titanium backup and wipe Market data.
-Settinngs> Account & sync> delete the account you DON'T want market to use. (if more than one delete them all) leave only the account you want to use for Market.
-Now open Market and accept the terms
-back to Account & sync and add back the google account(s) you deleted.
-Remember now in Market NEVER to select any Google account you don't want it to use. Because once you click on another account you'll be ask to accept the terms.
If you choose yes you just authorized another market account, if you choose no market will close but next time you open market you'll get the box asking to accept t&c of the other google account

I have tried this or some variation and it kind of works, but market still notifies you to update apps from other accounts! When you click the notification you get the agreement box and you can't exit!

Corporate Exchange Sync hack

I'm looking for help. When I connect to my company's exchange server, it forces down policies that turn off data when roaming, and requires a 6 digit pin to be entered in at least once every 15 minutes. My phone is rooted, running DarkDroid, deodexed and debloated. I'm trying to find a way to remove that PIN requirement. As to sync to exchange without allowing the sync to be a phone administrator. Can anyone help me with that?
Sounds like an inherited setting that your company has synced to it when you synced your company account to it. My dad's droid x acts similarly, and so does my D3 with my school email. Allowing the phone to sync with a corporate account allows for them to do things like that (like in my case it would be remote wiping, not a forcing of certain data services).
Yes, but with a rooted phone, I should be able to maintain the email without using their policies. That's my goal. And remote wipe is indeed in effect. Its very upsetting.

I'm actually an e-mail administrator for my company and am interested in this thread, as this would be a huge violation of security policies and would create a HUGE risk, which would require us to re-evaluate our mobile device policy.
A potential work-around for your issue might be to use TouchDown, I think there is a way to only prompt you for the passwords only when you open up work related emails.
I only hope your not from my company. Tho I'm certain there's a way to spoof the exchange server. It only needs to think that I have the policies. It doesn't check as the policies can't be removed while the account is active. Ill update this when I figure it out....and I will figure it out.

There is an app in the Market called "Enhanced Email" that I have been using since the OG droid came out. It allows you to sync an exchange account and bypass exchange security policies. It is a paid app, but worth it for what it does. You set up the account using the web access url and it works beautifully.

Bottom line is if you don't want to have a pin, etc, don't sync email to exchange. Either abide by the rules or don't use the service.
Try an imap connection instead?
Or get your company to use Good. We do.

Abide by the rules or don't use it, then you suggest another method of connection? Irony much?
That said, rules don't bother me. The fact that they can remote wipe my device based off a pin bothers me. Limiting my control over my device bothers me. You're right, I don't have to use it. But I want my cake and eat it too. And by all means, I'll have my cake!
FOUND!
There's an email apk that completely removes the security from the app. Can't enforce that which does not exist. I doubt there's a way "rectify" this without creating your own email app that you would push to a device.

[Q] HTC Watch App

Anyone had any luck with logging in with it?
I can't log in (i assume its just the same as my htc account), wont send a new password to my account, nor will it let me create an account because it says one is in use.
I had the same problem. Ended up logging in to my HTC account online, deleting it, then setting up from fresh through the phone.
Don't know why I couldn't get the original account to work though?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
HTC have tweeted me to say it takes a while for it to come through. if it doesnt come through by tomorrow morning i guess its what i';ll have to do.
No email arrived at all, HTC_Uk twitter account told me to contact support. Support tried to resend email, that didn't work either, been escalated to a removal of HTC Watch account and to start all over again.
Exactly what happened to me. In the end took 5 days for the reset email to turn up, but had already deleted and set up new account 4 days before lol

where did you find the option to delete your account?
Found it,never mind! Account successfully re-created with exactly the same details, how odd.
