I can't seem to find anything about this error, so i'm not sure if i'm using the wrong search keywords or i'm the only one getting it.
Sometimes when i'm chatting in gtalk on my PC, my captivate keep binging the notification sound telling me there are new messages when ever the other person sends a new message. This can't be normal and it doesn't seem to happen all the time. Maybe about half the time and it's f'n annoying.
Can anyone tell me what i'm missing and how to get it to not alert me when i'm already chatting in another window?
Thanks
I have been able to get push notifications for yahoo mail, and gmail but for facebook I'm never able to get them...I don't know what the problem is. I have installed the android version of the app fromt he market, and have set notifications on through the apps settings. I do get notifications, if I go into the app and click on facebook...(the notification bar on the bottom will have a red popup with the number of notifications) But that is not push right?
Push is where the notification gets sent instantly to your phone, and it comes on your pull down notification menu...So why can't I get this to work...I've tried setting the interval to 30 mins, to 1 hour, to never, nothing works. Please help!!! Btw my Galaxy S is running gingerbread...
This will cause missed phone calls, VM's, and text's to blink the LED forever until you address them/clear the reminder.
This app has been removed from the Android Market
This app is critical to the Epic for anyone who relies on the notification LED
Per the author, the app is now Open Source
As a result, I'm attaching the last version of the app I have which is 0.9.6.
Here is also a link on how to properly configure the app.
How to configure
Please say thanks to Isira for figuring this out.
when i enable reminders for Gmail, the app force closes. any ideas?
[bounty] to fix Missed Reminder to work with current OS and apps
If someone can fix this, I will definitely donate to the DEV. I need some kind of persistent nag until a message is acknowledged for email, sms, and missed phone calls. It should also work with BLN (backlight notification) and LED notifications. I am sure many other people need this functionality.
I personally pledge ($10)
Please ignore, I just noticed that this is being discussed with the latest Gear update
With the latest Gear Manager update I get a request to access my Gmail account (I can live with that), but now I receive notifications for EVERY incoming e-mail and not just for my primary inbox as it was in the past. I often don't read notification e-mails and every time I get a new message I get reminded for EVERY unread message on my Gear (vibrates on and on and on).
Does someone know how to revert back to the old notification style or find this update also extremely annoying?
Silly question but how did you set it up to give notifications for Gmail. When I try through gear manager the option is greyed out in the extra notifications section.
Tia
Edit - that's weird I just tried again and now the option is available.

Hey all, I hope somebody can help me out with this. I've noticed this problem with multiple apps but I will continue my description with Whatsapp as it's the most important to me.
It seems to be random, but some (becoming most) times I don't receive any notifications from whatsapp. When i open the app, i can see the app "updating" and receiving all the messages that were sent to me since the previous launch.
I have gone to the battery management and turned whatsapp to manual mode with all 3 options enabled (auto launch, secondary app launch and background usage)
I've also turned on unlimited data restrictions for the app.
I'm still facing the same issue. Anybody else out there facing the same thing with whatsapp or any other app? Any ideas how to fix this?
Same problem messaged Huawei and got a real crap guide on how to fix it . There "fix" was to hard reset the phone which we all know a new phone should work out of the box what good is a hard reset going to do apart from wipe the phone
It could be a network issue. Sometimes when am on wifi every notification comes on time(tested it with my second phone). When i switch on 4g , notification can have a considerable delay. And not only watsapp. Instagram facebook gmail you name it.

Have you try to put out whatsapp from battery optimization apps...
Settings, Apps, Apps, press 4 dots upper right corner, special access (or something like that), exclude whatsapp or any other app from battery optimization
My notfications are working, but sometimes it doesn't play the notification sound for whatsapp. It seems to be random, does anybody know how to fix this?
