Hi guys, I'm on CM7 by squadzone, and everytime I try to install an app (both with market or apk file) the phone reboots without installing anything...
I've had this problem some time ago and I fixed it flashing again the ROM, but I see it's back xD
So I'm looking for a real fix
If it's important I'm using a2sdgui and I check on Titanium Backup my memory stats: I've at least 50Mb free everywhere (sd-ext, sd, ROM memory, etc.)
Bro I faced this problem many time !! When I install app reboot! ! I am on tjstyle 1102011 with squadzone oc! ! This happen when I install da2sd script! !! After that this problem have again and again!!

If you are using a2sd w dalvik cache on sd, probably that sd-ext partition is corrupted in some way.
Simple solution:
1) backup with CWM
2) no need but format from CWM sd-ext, only this
3) restore ONLY sd-ext from previous backup
It works!
Just one question: I used to clean Dalvik with Titanium Backup, can it be the reason?
I just checked and, in fact, there is a file that Titanium suggest to clean!

ur sd-ext where the apk is being installed is being mounted as r/o..which does not allow u to install and so it reboots. it happened to me only twice and i did a restore to solve it..not sure wat caused it. also 1 one other person complained of having the same issue.
Man mound ur system and data first and than reboot u will not face the problem again

maybe something is wrong with your sd-ext partition, the apk are being installed there because of s2e.
edit; try another format ext2/ext3

Thanks for the reply!! m i right tht wiping sd ext wont format files on sd card?(fat i mean)
I still get into boot loop after wiping sd-ext b4 installing DT a2sd
is there anything to do with the kernal
I would try doing a full wipe (including system) then flash everything a new. ROM, gapps then DT. If you don't want to lose your app data just backup with titanium backup.

Thx for the reply! i hv tried wipe system also. Still failed...
And yesterday i tried another a2sd method with s2e...
Everytime stuck at X screen during restart
Which recovery are you using? - your ext may be messed up...
Im currently on rc 5.5 and have. Plans to flash the rc 5.6 or other roms. If i flash new roms? Would my previous a2sd script be erased to? How bout my partitionrd sd card? Will there be changes? Noob here :-D
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
there's won't be any change on the sd card partition. even if you wipe data & cache, it won't change any partition on sd card.
but if you do wipe your data, your a2sd script will be gone as well. so you need to re-install the app2sd script or application.
It is always good to wipe data and cache before flashing a new rom to get 100% performance...
When you do that your ext partition will also be formatted..
So the bottom line is after flashing a new rom you should flash the scripts again....
Don't forget mount system and data before doing so...
Swyped from my first Android device....!
No need to flush data if I upgrade a rom?

every you flash new rom, i think you need wipe all...so that like a new n very fresh rom..and you'll start overall from begining...a2sd scricpt was gone...
Hi,
(Hope it's the right place? Can't ask in the rom-thread, because < 10 posts)
I'm using Paranoid Android 2.6 by TonyP Build 10. This morning suddenly all the app data disappeared. The Apps still work fine, but all data (scores, settings) are gone. The sdcard is okay, pictures and so on are still there.
Does anybody have an idea why this happend and how i can get my data back?

did the installation wiped your whole Internal Storage?
and what recovery did you use to flash the Rom?

um, this did not happen after a update, it happend suddenly after a boot
Recovery: ROM Manager - CWM
Wipe cache(NOT DATA) and dalvikcache and reboot.
Then again after a reboot go back to recovery and fix permissions.
// If that doesnt work try installing the rom again
///// If that doesnt work the data has been erased somehow. Cant tell from here.
Also: Check if the files for games etc are still on the SDcard.
Need help people. Am using Stock Based ROM and till date used Link2SD for linking apps 2 sd card.
Now i want to try a different ROM which has cronmod script already installed. The OP suggested me to get rid of Link2Sd script first. Uninstalled Link2Sd and tried to flash ROM again. No Success.
Now can someone please tell me that mere uninstalling Link2sd app removes the script too? Or i need to do something else too?

Wipe your sd-ext partition via cwm (wipe data) and flash a new rom.. you can use your sd-ext partition flasing other scripts as INT2EXT, in my opinion the best sd-ext script

If u formated your sd-ext with cwm. The partition will be ext3 being that most cronmods on roms and only ext4 support!!

A flashable zip for removing the scripts.
Goto /system/etc/init.d & delete a file named 11link2sd.
Simple isn't it...!!!

That is not everything. This is what the zip does:
deletes /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
checks for /system/bin/debuggerd.bin, deletes /system/bin/debuggerd if debuggerd.bin exists, and renames the debuggerd.bin to debuggerd
deletes /system/etc/init.d/11link2sd
