I seem to have misplaced my nexus S headsets and I liked the fact tthat I could wear them and hit the button to answer a call and stuff...
Looking at the headset, it seemed simple. But I still don't quite understand how it works.
I imagine to make one , its probably easier to get ahold of a 3.5mm jack that already has 3 leads and then cut it up...
But I don't know...
Help me technically awesome forum members.

I'm assuming you're talking about the headphones? I've been using some cheap Skull Candy HPs for the longest time with no issues. I got the phone used so all I got was a charger. Haha. Can't say I've ever heard of the problem you're having though.

Bose is over priced, skull candy is worth only if u live in us. But IMO their sound quality isn't very remarkable, skull candy is notorious for its bass which sounds terrible.
If u are looking for Sth cheap while neutral sounding, u could go for the westones um2 series. Or St cheaper... the ultimatears200. Or if u dont wana pay convince some one to pas u their Sony ericsons in ears, they are pretty decent hahas. For ear buds, apple ones are decent.

The TF10 sounds awesome, but has serious fit issues for a lot of people, myself included.
bluetooth headset all the way, have never plugged a wire in other than for power.
try JLab earphones! paid 30 pounds for it on ebay as they are not being sold in my country. Really amazing sound quality, works perfectly, long lasting (now lasting already for 0.75 year which is long for me).
I have these
List for Samsung galaxy headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic

Headphones
Hey friends,
I read all your replies for this post. It seems like all are telling about headphones without mic.
Unfortunately my original headphone which I got with Nexus S is not working properly.
So please suggest me from where can I get the original samsung headphones or is there any adapter with mic with which I can connect to any other headset. Presently I am staying in UAE.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

Sennheiser is a litter expensive, but the quality is very good
Add pretty much all the Samsung "audio" Bluetooth headsets.
I found an HM6450 for $29.99 at an office supply store. Sounds fine to my (middle-aged) ears.
Im looking for wireless headphones. Decent sound and not too exspensive. I know about brandname headsphone but I just need for outdoor work. Any recommendations?

I'm not sure what level of sound quality you're looking for, but a refurbished pair of Motorola S10HDs will pop up on woot.com every couple of weeks for 25$. I picked a pair up, and they're not the best sounding headphones in the world, but they work very well.

You should get something from jaybirdgear. Their headphones are sweat proof they have earbud versions as well. Personally I have a pair of the sportsband 2 and the Blue Buds X. The Blue Buds are realy expensive the Sportsband is only like $100
They both sound very good but blue buds have some of the crispest sound I've ever heard.
I second the bluebud X's. For the price they are expensive but I barely use my soul sl99's or other headphones anymore.

I picked up some very minimal cheap wireless bluetooth earbuds on amazon fkr $25 shipped. They don't sound the greatest and have about 2 hrs of life listening to music and recharge quicker. Check them out.

Hmm, reading Amazon comments about LG 700 vs 730. People are saying 730 will have better sound quality and other fancier controls, BUT they keep cutting out and loosing connection in comparison to 700? I can't figure out if that's in case of people just leaving their phone 10ft away or when you have your phone in the pocket and/or desk next to you and connection breaking up? Can anybody comment on that?

That hasn't been my experience at all. Great range for me. When I used them at the gym I'd frequently walk away from my phone and the sound wouldn't break up until I was halfway across the gym floor (which is a substantial distance)

I have 730's and love them... 10 hours playback time.... they last long than my phone! (with an extended battery lol)
I tried jaybirds and had issues with skipping. Got another pair of Rocketfish at Best Buy. Not the greatest design or sound quality but work good for me.

Can you use the lg tone 730's with google navigation and hear the directions?
If you are listening to music and the navigation speaks will the lg tone 730's pass on the navigation info or just continue the music?
I just bought some Henson Audio BT033 (I think that is the model) and am very impressed with them.
Not earbuds, great bass and tone. Strong volume and they fold away. They have AVRCP controls on them that work fine. They charge via micro usb and have a 3.5mm Jack connection if you don't want to use Bluetooth.
Finally, great for calls with the built in Mic.

What is your budget? Wired or wireless (bluetooth)?
Personally I'm not a fan of Beats, overpriced and inaccurate sound with bass exaggeration. Just my opinion. I found Klipsch S4A II to be excellent wired headphone with accurate sound representation without any exaggeration of dynamic frequency range. Jaybird BlueBuds X have some of the best wireless sound and for exercising these are unmatched! I have reviewed both, in my signature link. Keep in mind these are great for active lifestyle and also price is $100 and higher.
Perhaps others can suggest other budget ones with a decent sound. It's not hard to find bass enhanced earpiece. But the one with accurate sound representation and comfortable fit is hard to find.
Hi vectron,
Thanks for your recommendations. Frankly I haven't got a clue as to what are the kinds of headsets available in the market yet... However your suggestions are a good place for me to consider.
I'm looking at below $50 usd. Wired headsets are good enough for me. Most importantly the headset should ideally be compatible with most smartphones so I need not spend anymore money in future (if that's not too much to ask for).
I'm not sure if this could help with some idea - I came from sony phones, and I think that the headset the phone comes with, is good enough for me.

Not a fan of Beats headphones either. There's so many better choices for the price imo. My current rotation of headphones are:
Klipsch S4a - for the price, probably the best headset I've owned. I used these almost every day for a variety of music, and always for movies/videos. Great fit, sound quality and noise cancelation. Unfortunately, someone sat on my phone when they were plugged in and bent the headphone jack on them and Now the connection sucks.
Sol Republic Amps HD - I always get compliments on these and how cool they look. I use them on bass heavy music and for running, since they give the least feedback from the cords moving around (beats tours are actually very good at this). These sound really good when I listen to my music loudly. Actually sound similar to beats, but priced a lot better. They have several sized cushions for your ears, but they don't fit in my cauliflower ears that well.
Monster turbines - Aside from the Klipsch set, but super close, these are probably the cleanest. REALLY good all purpose headphones. They play everything really well. The only knock I have with them, are that they're kinda expensive.
JLab wood/titanium - saw these on Groupon for a really good price so I picked them up (I know, I have a problem lol). These sound actually really good when listening to guitar heavy music. Clarity isn't great when there's a lot of bass though and these give off a ridiculous amount of feedback from the cords moving around, so I'd only listen to them if I'm laying in bed, or sitting at a desk for a while.
Hope this helps some. I've gone through tons of headphones, and I always recommend Klipsch to people who are looking for a solid set at a decent price.

Thank you to all who has replied and contributed! I had decided to go with s4a since there were many positive reviews on it.
Upon receiving, I was excited to give it a try. Noise isolation was great, but bass was not as strong as I hope to be. Sound quality is not too bad too. My only main gripe is the lack of functional volume control with its single button, which I had missed out during my research on earphones. Apparently this is a common problem.
Wondering if there is any way to overcome this?

No way to overcome it. Here is what I figured. S4A is designed for Android, but it's actually just their apple version with a modified in-line remote where they removed volume +/- because you can't get apple volume control to work with Android (after 4.x) without changing a few internal resistors. I just recently got and reviewed UE 600vi (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381732). Those have apple control, and you can't use volume, but multi-function button works and can be programmed for single/double/triple click to play/pause/next/prev functionality. Use JAYS headset control free app for that (I have link in my review). I like that app better than Klipsch one, although it has an identical functionality anyway. Another thing, S4A needs to be broken in for the sound to shine. It's a normal procedure with all new high quality headphones. In the same UE600vi review I have a link to on-line "white-noise" loop player that you would run for a day with your headphone plugged in (don't put it in your ears lol!!!, just let it run to exercise your headphones). 600vi had hardly any bass when I got them, but after running that loop, I got some low end Not as much as on S4A, but noticeable enough. S4A has a better low frequency response with deeper bass, and it will shine after you will run that white-noise loop to break them in. On a contrary, 600vi has the most detailed high frequency content I ever heard, S4A is good but in high frequency it doesn't compare to 600vi. But since your original intent was bass - S4A will be great for that.
Thanks vectron!
It's a pity to know that I can't do anything about the volume.
I had tried both jays and klipsch music control. I'll keep the klipsch one first for a few days to see how it goes.
As for the white noise loop, that's something new for me! I'll give it a try. Hopefully it'll improve as yours did.

Somebody else mentioned to me 3D MAVEN Music Player (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maven.blueplayer) as the one with some awesome surround sound and similar setup as JAYS controls. I haven't tested it yet, but worth checking out.
I haven't tried them personally, but I've seen some reviews that the Monoprice earbuds give a lot bang for the dollar; monoprice headphone search results. 9398 or 9397. They're so cheap you won't care if they get lost, damaged or stolen.
If you want really good headphones, I would check out Headroom. These guys are audiophiles and have cheap to mortgage the house headphones. And they give solid advise about headphones and use.
Here's the thing. I have Bose headphones I've been using for a while now. I live in NYC and use them everyday, and over the past 2 years they've taken a beating and are showings signs of falling apart. (The inner wires are showing, and are holding on by a thread)
Long story short, thier ok. But never liked them much. I just kept them because I had already paid for them and its not like you can return them after opening without paying a hell of a restocking "fee."
What I didnt like about them additionally, is that they hardly worked with my note 2. The volume buttons dont work, and the only thing that does work is pause/skip to next track button.
Im wondering if anyone has good recommendations for headohones that offer great sound, are noise canceling/in ear, but most of all the buttons work on it. (Pause, skip, volume, etc)
My price range max is $150. Any suggestions are truely appreciated

Hello, thanks for responding.
To be honest, I'm not really looking for the best sounding ones. What I'm more interested, is ones that would work with this phone. I guess what I'm looking for more than anything is, have you ever looked at headphones and on the box on the back it says compatible with iPhone / iPod? Well I'm kinda looking for once that would be compatible with the Samsung Galaxy note 2. I know that there are so many different phones, that it would be possible for them to certify the note 2 to specifically. But my main concern, his headphones were the volume buttons and functions on the mic piece work.
