[Q] Multiple text messages Liberty - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hey, I am getting this really issues. I am running Liberty3 and since yesterday I have been receiving multiple non-stop text msg when someone sends me a text. It keeps going up to 15 duplicates until I reboot the phone. Any help. thanks

I am also having this really weird issue where people post things in development when they obviously don't belong.

Lol @ terror.
But this post would be better placed in the thread of the custom rom you're running. Then others that use that rom could help you out...just saying for future reference.

true that- wrong section.
ANYWAY I would flash back to complete stock using the rsdlite setup and start over. THen root it again, and install the new Safestrap instead of Bionic Bootstrap. THen install liberty again.
Sounds like you just have a bad flash.

No. We are mainly working on the cricKet ZIO. We don't have any sprint developers as far as I know.

If i can get my hands on a good clean rom and a clockwork fastboot img that actually works i will make a rom for you guys. Help me help you
Smooth, if our recovery does not work. Google "My brain hurts" for porting clockworkmod recovery to new devices.

Well, if you want to develop on the cricKet 2.2 system, I can test away and if I brick... Oh well. Gotta love leaked updates.

Check the development section of the ZIO forums, I have uploaded the cricKet 2.2.1 boot, recovery, and system images in one convienent zip file.
I'm also here Sprint Zio owner not afraid to brick if need be I'm not really experienced but I have been lurking here and many other forums soaking up as much info as I can but there isn't a whole lot of support for Sprint Zio's I really want to change that. You guys can get me either on aim @ xbhattx or pm me or email me @ [email protected]. I'm currently working on the boot image for Sprint but ran into trouble with clockworkmod recovery, when I tried to open the cmd prompt in dev tools it would not open perhaps a simple mistake but can't seem to figure out what I am missing. But any help I can be just let me know I am always available!

Hello, Im Ryan, Hey do u think u could help me? I have a Sanyo Zio, and I tried to update from Android Ver. 2.2 to Ver. 2.3, and when I got to the point to backup rom and restart in recovery, the phone wouldn't get past the "Sanyo" screen, flashing off and on, til I held down the volume up/end call buttons, and now it's back on, but stuck in roaming??? plz help!!! I am not tech Savvy!!!
There is no 2.3 update for the ZIO as of yet, and I've seen you spam this over the forum. If you expect to get help, post ONE very informative post in the general section, and wait patiently for a response. Spamming will only get you yelled at or ignored altogether.

I think we should have a Q&A section on the forum.

You can only change the kernel and baseband on these phones with a OTA update from Motorola. Our bootloader is locked.
You can return the phone to stock software with one of the FXR apps that are available. But the baseband and kernel will remain unchanged. I used this one successfully last weekend: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/5484-r3l3as3droot-and-43v3r-root-for-the-bionic-v21/
Will the method mentioned on the RootWiki site also remove the bootstrap/CWM if installed?
Yes it will
So basically I can load bootstrap and cwm from koush and something like liberty and then go back to the way it was when unboxed with no sign of any changes? The reason I ask is I am still in my 14 day return window.

Not sure if I can post links or not, so go to rootzwiki, then go to forums, then click on Droid bionic, then click on Droid bionic developer forum, then click on Th3oryrom and you'll find it.

That would be a negative
Don't see why you can post external links to development sites where deving is placed there used to be links to rootzwiki on my charge all the time so i don't see why not

I think the reason this thread hasn't blown up is because everyone is still trying to keep root on .902
Nevertheless, I am still in that group. Post up some screenshots!

No camera, no calendar, but 4g data! Awesomeness. Can't wait till the above get worked out so I can say buhbye to gingerbread!
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Every one says 3g/4g is not working correctly, only 1x or 3g if your not in a 4g area.
Edit: I see there seems to be a work around, by turning on the LTE ram dump.
Is it a port of this?

You need to go to 902 from 893 not 901. I think you can flash stock 893 in rsd, use voodoo from the market to save root, then take the OTA update and restore root with voodoo, but I'm not 100% sure voodoo works on the bionic (it does on my transformer prime)

Xda has lost its luster. When I started rooting phones, everyone was linking to xda because this was the main source. Now I'm seeing that rootzwiki is the main source. Not sure why that is, maybe someone else can give an explanation

I think its because theres a lot of new users who don't read before they ask questions or start threads. I have seen rom threads where a question that was answered 10 times in the last 5 pages continues to be asked. The search function is horrible on here but if you can't read the last few pages of a thread, or 2-3 pages of thread titles before asking a question or starting a thread then you are just cluttering up the forum. I have seen a few devs leave simply because of all the people that wouldn't read a few pages, or even the OP before asking stupid questions which have already been answered. Also the moderation in some sub forums is horrible, that's another big reason I've seen a lot of devs leave.
Thank you for the explanation. Makes sense.

It isn't hard to keep root. ROTA893 is your friend

Just purchased, First things I should do?

Just purchased my Bionic from TigerDirect, waiting for to arrive. First Android phone but I've had an iPod Touch for a while now. I'm fairly computer savvy and have been lurking these forums for weeks now.
Based on my research, I should respectively do the following:
Boot up, update if needed on stock
Root via this guide
Install Hashcode's SafeStrap
Nandroid Stock
Flash AOKP ICS & GApps on Safe partition
Install Nova/Trebuchet Launcher (can't decide, which one is better?)
Customize w/ apps, contacts, etc
Nandroid & TI Backup of ICS partition
Anything I miss? I'm new to this so point me in the right direction.
Sorry if this went in the wrong subforum, couldn't decide between General or Q&A
Welcome trebutched in my experience more s
Cusonization imo

I'd root before updating. Remember path saver, unr3l3as3DRoot and for3v3r root because they are valuable tools if you have any problems. From what I have read, motofail is another valuable tool, but I've never used it to confirm.

Motofail roots stock .902 just fine

No point opening a new thread!

[Q] Non-Safestrap Custom ROMs - ICS/GB?

Since we have SBF files now, and I apologize if this is the wrong area to post, but will we be able to get an official Clockworkmod Recovery so that we can install clean ROMs without needing to use Safestrap and running dual systems?
I am willing to test any developments on my D4 given that we can now flash the SBF should it brick.
Also on a somewhat side tangent, has anyone figured out a way to mod the system to allow apps2sd naturally like on the D2/D3 instead of the "media area vs app storage area"?
Thanks in advance everyone.
I am waiting for a response for this thread as well.the safestrap method has created issues I really don't want to deal with on a regular basis. I thought maybe once the sbf were out there we would have clockwork method out there fairly quick. I appreciate all the hard work hash & others put in to problem solving etc..J am so looking forward to a clockwork option..

I have read that people are using the razr bootstrap without issue. I have not tested it personally.

What issues? You could always use bootstrap, as others have said.
Personally, I really like using safestrap. Stock ROM when I need the phone to work, whatever rom I like otherwise (Though AOKP is getting pretty close to perfect now. Going to check up on CM9 soonish...)

Bootstrap for RAZR apparently works, although there are some issues at least:
