Droid RAZR BootAnimation w/Amplified audio file - Motorola Droid Bionic

RAZR Boot Animation plus amplified Audio file for the Droid BIONIC
(for louder boot animation sound)
Razr's boot animation is not bad, the animation's audio file could be improved. Here is a howto for the audio portion of the boot animation to make it louder.
Edit: 1/27/13 - put the downloads via dropbox instead of mediafire.
Step by step Install:
Code:
1. Download the droidhd.ogg file from this post.
2. Open Root Explorer...
[LIST]
Go to where droidhd.ogg was downloaded to your phone. (Mine was downloaded originally to the /sdcard/download folder.)
[/LIST]
[LIST]Long press on "droidhd.ogg," then select "Move."
[/LIST]
[LIST]In Root Explorer, go to /system/media
[/LIST]
[LIST]While your in /system/media, on the top right corner of your screen press "Mount R/W, " it should now appear as "Mount R/O."
[/LIST]
[LIST]Paste the droidhd.ogg inside /system/media
[/LIST]
[LIST]Change Permissions for the droidhd.ogg file to rw-r--r--
[/LIST]
Reboot and Enjoy.
Below is a video of the difference in sound from stock to amplified.

Followed everything the boot works perfect but i still get no sound?? I have a Galaxy S2 and in the media folder there are only .qmg files and no other .ogg files. I have a AUDIO folder in the Media folder with .ogg files in there, but there are 3 subfolders in the AUDIO folder named:
Alarms, Notifications, Ringtones, AND Ui.... i tried it in UI and still no sound...any help??

not sure what i'm doing wrong but I cannot get this to work. did everything in the instructions to a T and it just keeps booting with the animation from my purity rom. i even took that one out of system/media and it just booted with a "android" blue logo... any ideas???

I tried this because I am using a theme that has this boot animation but no sound. I am using a droid X2 but dont think its much different than the Bionic. I tried installing the sound by following the directions, but I still get no sound when booting.

I am writing an instruction thread for making custom boot animation sounds for the X2, it will be up in a few days.
SBF'd (sent blazingly fast) from my Alienated X2

I have tried this on my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman and the images works fine. But there is no audio.
Rooted with Stock ROM.
Any ideas?

Its tricky, once I get mine finished and get a successful boot with them my instructional thread will go up, it should be universal for all devices but we'll see.

Have you tried to search for the factory .ogg file that your Droid x2 has already? That may be where you wanna add the droidhd.ogg in as well as the bootanimation

Its in system/media and I am working on it right now. Its more than just placement its permissions, parameters within the bootanimations desc.txt file among other things. Its never as easy as placement.

The ".qmg" file in /system/media would be your boot animation sound file. I would be willing to look at your files if you wanna send me the bootanimation file that came stock as well as the qmg files to see if we can make this work.

Alright so I am using a boot animation that came with a separate sound file not included in the bootanimation.zip. I converted it to .ogg and the trick is to place the sound file (converted to .ogg) in system/media and then use absolute system's desc.txt editor to change the sound file to be used to the one you want by selecting the "s" line which will bring up a window prompting you to select the .ogg file from either the root of your sd card or from the root of the system/media folder. You must then select which one you want to use, press save changes and once changes are saved you must hit "install" to install the bootanimation. From there you must go back to the system/media folder and long pressure the audio/.ogg file you had previously selected and choose "move." From there you go to the system/media/notification folder and paste it there. Then you SHOULD be all set. The only reason I have not put up my instructional thread yet is because for some reason it will only play an .ogg file that is native/ original to the specific bootanimation you are trying to use it for but I will work on it some more and research for a solution. I will keep you updated.

[01/21/11] These new .zip files are updated to work with all versions of CWM, the scripts are both Edify and Amend friendly. Enjoy!
Previews:
Startup
Shutdown
Shutdown 2
Shutdown 3
There are 6 files attached here, all flashable through ClockworkMod. The titles of the files should be self-explanatory. You'll notice that one of the .zip's will flash you back to the stock Epic boot and shutdown sounds.
I've confirmed that they work with DI18 stock (rooted), DK28 stock (rooted), and Bonsai 1.1.4, so I don't see why they wouldn't work on any ROM.
Your phone must be rooted and have ClockworkMod Recovery (any version).
*I suppose I must do the obligatory I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU JACK YOUR PHONE UP*
Instructions:
- download flashable .zip and flash through clockwork.
That's it, reboot and enjoy!

No, the sound effect is a portion of (what I believe to be) the Droid Incredible boot sound; I created the "epic" and associated sound processing.

Pretty sweet! It does kind of remind me of the first time I saw Optimus Prime transform in the live action move. The "Epic" part is a nice touch.
Need help getting this to work. I have done every step to the T, and still no avail. I have custom boot animations as well as custom boot sounds but, for some reason this one file just says unsupported file type after clicking on it in /system/etc folder. It plays while on the sdcard itself. So if you know a work around that would be great cause this boot sounds is awesome.

This is probably a dumb question, but did you unzip the .wav first? Assuming that you did, you should have a file on your sd card with the name "PowerOn.wav"; if you copy that file into /system/etc you should have no problem. Verify that you have a file in that folder with that exact name, not just the "PowerOn.bak" that you may have created in backup up your original boot sound.
What file manager are you using? I've done this using both Astro and Root Explorer and am able to select the file in /system/etc and it plays on the built in music player.
Added the option to flash through clockwork, updated OP with options.
very nice I will install this
reminds me of transformers or THX

You read my mind! I've been learning about how to make one today. The only catch is, it will only work on a ROM with a custom kernel, or a kernel that has been modified and re-compiled. Currently the only Froyo ROM that I know of that this might be an option with is Mammon's Bonsai ROM (which is what I run).
I'll keep fiddling and see what I can come up with.
any thoughts for a similar one for the power down?

[REQ] Stock Boot Animation

Can I get the stock animation zipped up as a bootscreen.zip? I deleted the custom one and the stock shows up but I get an "ANDROID" watermark over it and lags up.

There is the link. It contains the stock samsung boot and shutdown ani's, and the coresponding audio for them.
Just unzip and place in the appropriate folders using root explorer. No need to rename anything, the boot animation is in the original .qmg format.
Hope these are what youre looking for.
Oh yeah and they are un-branded (no verizon, telus, etc.)

Thanks. I will try them out now. Hopefully it kills that nasty watermark
EDIT: Nope it's still there
When you use a kernel that supports the stock android bootanimation.zip files and don't have a bootanimation.zip file to go with it, you'll get that Android flashing in the middle of the screen for some reason. Not sure why though, but the only way to fix it would be to either put a bootanimation.zip file back in place, or disable custom boot animations.

go into root explorer go into SYSTEM then BIN inside BIN youll find a file named BOOTANIMATION it should be near the top since its in alphabetical order just delete that file and itll get rid of the "android" animation thats over your bootanimation. and reboot
Thanks again. One last thing. This animation is lagging bad. Any way to six that?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Not that I'm aware of. I never had any lag from it except for the first boot after moving it in. personally I don't know any way to edit those damn qmg files, if I can figure anything out I'll try to make a.zip of it. I really haven't tried breaking it up so maybe out will be no biggie...we'll see

possiable to get a flashable version or is there one already?
i'm not to good at effin with sysytem files yet and really don't want to f anything up
Like anything else effing with system files just takes practice. If you work with computer files its the same thing.
If you are not sure of something than move or rename the file, then you can always put it back.
Use Root Explorer or some other ' root' file manager.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Generally speaking the boot animation is fairly safe to"eff" with. The most damage you can really do is having a blank black boot screen.
If you're still worried make a nandroid backup first then eff away;-)
Seriously though, quite safe. Just always double check any file before replacing or deleting, make sure you got the right one.

How to put sound on boot animation? [Solved]

Hi all
I'm using transformers boot animation & now I want to put a sound clip beside it...
What should it's name be in system/media?
And should it be a special format?

Should be named "android_audio.mp3" in the same directory as bootanimation. /system/media
Tnx man.... it worked & it IS HOT!

This didn't work for me. Did you do anything special to the mp3 to get it to work? To be clear, I put it in the same location as bootanimation.zip (system/media) and renamed the mp3 file android_audio.mp3 (Galaxy Nexus)

New Cyanogenmod 9 CID Boot Animation

I have not seen this posted anywhere on here, but just in case anyone wants the new CID boot animation, you can download it here as it was recently released. Full credit goes to it's creator 73v1n;
Download URL as found on youtube;
https://rapidshare.com/files/2113393353/CM9ZipSavesV2.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/?wszii05t5ld13xt
http://www.4shared.com/zip/Ynjjiwom/CM9ZipSavesV2.html
Directions for those who don't know how to apply it just in case;
1. Download file, extract the "Vertical" folder from the zip.
2. Extract "bootanimation.zip" file from the "480x800" folder per our Samsung Epic 4G resolution, as you can see, there's many other resolution types for other phones.
3. Copy the bootanimation.zip file to your SD card.
4. I used Root Explorer to copy/push it by locating bootanimation.zip in directory; system/media. I'm on CM9 Beta4, file location may differ based on rom if I'm not mistaken. (Mount R/W to R/O, rename original bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak just in case, copy the new bootanimation.zip to the same directory.)
5. Set proper permissions(hard press file/select permissions) on the new file you just copied as "RW-R--R--" or view the permissions of the original bootanimation first and follow suit.
6. Exit Root Explorer and restart your phone to see that you have the new boot animation, enjoy.
