Using the LGMobileupdate tool I tried to update my O2X today. I connected the device and it did it business resulting in a bricked phone.
Hmmm...not good enough LG!
Its impossible to brick this bastard Use nvflash!
Have you been on a stock ROM before updating?
Yep, my O2X was absolutely stock 2.2.
try to flash with kdz version of gingerbeard..
As long as it powers up, it will be okay. LG android phones usually are unbrickable. Haha

oh man. i used lg pc suite to update my phone to v10c and half way thorugh the pc suite claimed that there was a connection error and after pulling out the battery of my phone several times, it kept going back to the S/W update screen and it seems to be bricked. my phones not rooted. what can i do ?

okay so i unbricked mt thrill using : [TUTORIAL] Flash BIN rom, Unbrick, Update - Optimus 3d (Service Flash software)
and it worked like a charm , i was wondering if any one out there had a att thrill back up from the states hiding somewhere ???
Lg doesnt even support this phone there is no official backup method for it

well, if you unbricked the phone, why not just flash Thriller, as is the one closest to stock, without all the bloatware from at&t?
okay thanks , now for another noob question. if i had a p925 and unbricked it using p920 , what roms would i use from now on, thrill or optimus ?

Both. They're mostly interchangeable. Did the restore process flash the p920 baseband as well? If so then you will have lost the ability to get 4g regardless of rom.

i have the nandroid back up from my original firmware but it has some personal stuff so let me restore to that backup and wipe the data to make another backup.. sounds confusing but just give me a couple of hours + upload time lol

But what about stock LG Thrill baseband?
My computer passed away already lol soo is there a way too upgrade baseband on the phone itself? Because i rooted the phone without it soo jus wondering.. (really wanna try cyanogen >.<)

I had my p925 running cyanogen and it was badass. I got it wet and had an iphone for a sec. (vomit) getting new thrill and [email protected] has gingerbread for it ready via Lg update tool. Wanna root it and install clockwork on it. Haven't seen any cohesive instructions and I would love too. Maybe someone could help!?

Here's a thread that pretty much has it all.
SEE THREAD
Download the LG Flash Package and you can root with it. It has a folder for root tools.
Then download Recovery Manager. It will install it for you.

wayno140 I have stated that at&the and lg changed something in the baseband and the only way to get other roms to work is to take the boot.img from the att release and flash it to the other roms.
Okay so not a newb just moving too this phone and had a question about basebands im on froyo and i got this phone 2nd hand i rooted my self but im wondering about gingerbread if i flash a gb rom without updating baseband im assuming itll brick or the radios wont work right? Now my other question is there a way to update gingerbread with a straight talk sim on stock rom or is there a easy way to update the baseband without a computer

at this time I don't think it can be done without a computer
Yeah I did it thru LG updater went to official rooted GB just browsing Roms ATM I'm thinking Taiz
